IPad Sound works only with Headphone.

My Ipad 3 sound is gone and it is only audible via headphone. I have reset the settings once but of no use.
Also I rebooted the iPad couple of times by holding down the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears, but this was also of no use.
Any help in this regard full be highly appreciated.

1. Double-click the Home button and swipe the Task Bar (at bottom) to the right. Check volume and mute settings.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo
Note: Try the reset a few more times if necessary

Check out this link - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085. There have been instances where settings have accidentally changed. Double click on the Home button, swipe all the way to the right to reveal the leftmost icon and alternate settings if necessary.

IPad WiFi works only with WPA/TKIP, not WPA2/AES

My iPad (like so many others) stopped connecting to my Linksys WRT54G router (which like everyone else's connects fine with every other device, including non-iOS 4 iPhones). The whole reset/restart/restore dance with the iPad/router/cable modem was performed to no avail. By sheer desperation, security protocols were changed, and that's what finally worked.
The protocol to the rescue was WPA/TKIP, curiously enough. (When security is completely disabled ("Open"), the iPad also connects, perhaps expectedly.) The culprit is WPA2/AES (even AES+TKIP). Any iteration of WPA2/AES ends up blocking the iPad from getting the appropriate IP address via DHCP. Once I changed to WPA/TKIP, everything's been rock-solid and fast.
(The only times WPA2/AES worked was when the iPad was first used for a couple days, and a couple days after switching back to WPA2/AES when it started working with WPA/TKIP. Since then, switching back to WPA2/AES no longer works, even temporarily.)
Any idea why initially WPA2/AES worked, and then suddenly stopped?

Actually, WPA2/AES worked on two (short but notable) occasions:
a) for two days when I first unpacked the iPad, and
b) for two days when I switched back to WPA2/AES upon discovering WPA/TKIP fixed the issue.
So it wasn't two months, which makes more sense. I agree with you that I'm not touching this arrangement for now. What I did have to do was change over the other devices (PCs, Wii's, TiVo's) that didn't automatically adjust over to WPA/TKIP. (To its credit, the iPhone did that on the fly.) Going through each device hurt a little, knowing I was using a less-than-optimal protocol for just one cranky device at expense of every other one--but of course I'd rather everything play nice than be necessarily cutting edge. (It's not like I'm the Pentagon or anything here.)

Plug and unlpug the headphone jack with some intention to get the mechanical switch to flip.

Please help me, I have an iPad 3, that I bought for my boyfriend on june 2012, after over a year of use, everything had worked perfectly till' now. The iPad started to have problems with sound through speakers, every time it were less and less what you can hear, and then we started using headphone to hear better. Suddendly the sound went out, and now we have NO SOUND on speakers, only on headphones, BTW the microphone works!
We have tried everything, nothing makes the sound come back.
I have tried the following:
System restore
iPad reset (soft reset, hold home and lock buttons for about 15 seconds till apple comes up)
Clean the headphone jack
Clean the charger cable and connector
Change the side switch from screen rotation to mute and viceversa
Use control center to mute / unmute
Change volume control to buttons and viceversa
Reset all settings
Erase all content and settings
Use of Assistive touch to manually turn up volume, unmute and mute, etc...
The sound comes only from headphones, and works perfectly with them, we have sound on games, notifications, music and everything else, it's just that sound doesn't come out from speakers.
The problem started since september, when the iOS 7 update was done.
But it got worse over the 7.0.4 update...
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Were you ever able to resolve this? I have this issue as well. Have not done a restore, but have cleaned connecter and headphone jack. No success.

Even if you max out the memory to 160 MB, it's too small for XP to run properly. Not surprised you can't locate drivers for XP.
You can, however, find the drivers for Windows 2000 (which I prefer to XP anyway). The sound driver is included.
Go to the Canadian download site and look up the Satellite 1710CDS.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). sounds work only in movies with mediaplayer..i have installed ffdshow what pops up when i start videos..if i try to play winamp only, music plays only -2 second and stops but with mediaplayer on backround it will play mp3..
in mediaplayer sounddevice is audigy 2 but winamp directsound output is working only with primary sound device, if i change it to audigy 2 then the music stops
also tryed dxdiag and there sound page..it plays directsound test only if mediaplayer is on..without mediaplayer nothing but at music page it plays that test without mediaplayer on in backround

My guess is that your PowerDVD and WinDVD versions don't have ES support and you're using the programs to decode. This might be the case if you are configuring the programs for multiple speakers. If you are, try configuring them for SPDIF output, then make sure the soundcard is configured to decode AC3/DTS (it probably is). Does that help?
