Go to Settings-General-Accessibility-Vision.  Be sure VoiceOver, Speak Selection and Speak Auto-text are all set to OFF.

  • My ipad is talking to me when it's locked...

Hi I'm the new iPad user..so like 10 minutes ago I was trying to unlock my ipad but it started talking to me, telling me what each button is.
It won't let me unlock..All it does is telling me the time, what each button is used for (e.g: picture frame, slide to unlock, enter passcode, etc)
I searched on the internet and it seems like the VoiceOver is turned on?? but I never turned it on, did it activate by itself?
Please help me unlock the ipad & turn off the voiceover

Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns VoiceOver off - if it does then you can change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.
If it doesn't then touch or tap the field that you want to use/select and it should get a box around it ; then double-tap that field to activate/type it. Once you've entered your passcode you can do the same (i.e. touch to select, double-tap to activate) to gradually get into  Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off (with VoiceOver 'on' you need to use 3 fingers to scroll up and down the screen).
So to enter your passcode you first need to tap the 'slide to unlock' button to highlight it (it should get a box around it), then double-tap it to unlock it. Then for your passcode tap the digit that you want and it should get a box around it; then double-tap that digit to type it; and similar for the other three digits in your passcode.

If you have followed the standard Apple troubleshooting processes (see user guide )
probably a trip to the local Apple Store Genius bar is called for before warranty runs out
Assuming the iPad has been released in your Country if not you may have to take it to a

  • HT6154 My Iphone 4 started talking to me today and I can no longer get it to recognize my password.  Any suggestions?

My IPhone 4 started talking while I was at work today, and I can no longer get it to recognize my password.  It freezes up and will not function properly, nor can I answer incoming calls.  I've reset the phone twice, but to no avail.  I currently have it hooked up to Itunes, but again, I can't get the phone to recognize the password.  Any suggestions?

If you mean it speaks when you tap things on the screen, you have VoiceOver turned on and need to turn it off in settings.  To do this, follow these steps exactly:
    Press Home.
    Tap Settings. Then double-tap Settings.
    Tap General. Then double-tap General.
Use three fingers on the screen to scroll to Accessibility.
    Tap Accessibility. Then double-tap Accessibility.
    Tap VoiceOver. Then double-tap VoiceOver.
Tap "On" next to VoiceOver. Then double-tap "On" to turn it off.

  • My icloud emails arent arriving most of the time and a few days ago my iphone and ipad started showing "Can't Get Mail" box. This has not happened before since I set up the iclud email address with the purchase of my ipad about a month ago.

My icloud emails arent arriving most of the time and a few days ago my iphone and ipad started showing "Can't Get Mail" box. This has not happened before since I set up the iclud email address with the purchase of my ipad about a month ago.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

  • Recently my ipad started doing an odd thing.  When I go to Google the keyboard pops up, but then pops down again, when I touch the google bar the second time it comes up and stays up.  Why would it do that, anything to do about it?

Recently my iPad started doing an odd thing.  When I go to Google and touch to type something the keyboard appears, but immediately disappears.  When I touch the second time the keyboard comes up and stays up.  Any idea why it is doing that and anything to do about it?

Did you try rebooting the iPad? It can cure a lot of really simple little hinky issues.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I can't get my iPad to talk to my printer. Help??

I just received an HP D110a printer and went thru the setup for the printer and it seems to work fine as a printer but I don't know what is required to have the iPad 2 talk to it. It would appear to be relatively simple--but it escapes me.  Can someone explain the procedure?  Jerry.

    Jerry-
Apps on the iPad that are capable of printing, usually have a small symbol that consists of a square with a right turn arrow.  When you touch it, printing is one of the options that appear.
Your D110 is capable of AirPrint printing.  If your iPad can't see it when you select the printing option, your WiFi router may not be correctly handling the Bonjour data that AirPrint requires.
