IPad stuck in restarting after restore

Hello!
After unsuccessfully updating the software of the iPad, i've done a hard reset on the iPad. It asked me to plug into iTunes for iPad to be restored. The restoration went perfectly, however, when it tried to restart, i'm stuck with the apple logo and a  progress bar that doesn't fill. I've tried the hard reset and went thorugh the same process a couple of times. It still would not work! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Shaun.

Solved by using another cable.
*Do note that the original cable syncs perfectly with the iPad and the iPhone just today!

Normally, I would suggest restoring the iPad and uninstall and reinstall iTunes but you have done both of those things - more times than you ever imagined!
Have you thought about turning auto syncing off?
Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
If you do this you can backup the iPad right away before it syncs. You may want to go into all of the iTunes tabs and just make sure that all of the current content on the iPad is selected to sync before you actually do sync.
This doesn't solve the problem, but it would prevent the automatic sync and erasing content. Hopefully, in the next few days- when iOS 5 is released - you will also be relieved of this weird iPad behavior - since the iOS devices are supposed to become PC free.
BTW - and this is no excuse for what you are experiencing, but I have found that some of the game apps that I had on my iPad turned out to be quite troublesome and after I removed them, my problems went away. I know that is almost sacrilege with regard to the Angry Birds addiction .... But I'm just saying ...

  • Installed latest iOS on my iPad mini, it got stuck while restarting after update. It is still in that stage even after 7 hours.

installed latest iOS on my iPad mini, it got stuck while restarting after update. It is still in that stage even after 7 hours.

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Ipad won't synch after restore

I have noticed that the only way to address my wifi issues on my iPad, is to do a reset of all settings and then restore from a backup through iTunes. So when I tried to do that last time,  the first part, the restore of the iPad works fine, but after automatIc restart, when iTunes is supposed to put all the media and apps back on my iPad, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPad as a restored one, and instead says welcome to your new iPad again.
All software is updated, I have tried multiple times, restarted my computer etc. Very frustrating since now I have an iPad without all my apps and media, and which iTunes won't recognize.
    Anyone have any tips? Thx.

    Thanks,
so hat so what is happening is that after the initial restore and restart, it should start synching and putting all apps and media on there. However, in this case, that second part doesn't happen, iTunes still says 'welcome to your new iPad'. When I click restore from backup that second time, same thing happens, it does a restore in about 10 mins, but then never synchs. When I unplug it, it has all my settings but just the 'basic/apple' apps (mail, safari, messages). When I plug it back in, it treads it like a new iPad, and want to restore from a backup.
I feel a little bit like the movie 'Groundhog Day', stuck in the same circle. I have done many iPhone or iPad restore but never had this problem.

  • Never ending restart after restore from 1.1.4 to 2.0.2

restored it because i didn't want any of the music on it. so after restore completed it said restarting iphone, and it never restarted, so i soft restarted the phone, the lock and home button restart. and it ended up in a loop about every minute it restarts. so after that i restored it to 2.0.2 again, same problem dosnt restart its self. tried to restore to 1.1.4 got some error 20? so tried again with the 2.0.2 and same problem.. any one have the issue and fix it? i am probbably going to have to take a bus to san jose to the apple store

Why didn't you just unsync the music off the phone? Doing a restore to get music off seems a little much.

  • Stuck in restart after tiger installation

my g4 has been stuck in restart for 30 minutes since it finished installing tiger. what do i do?? i cant get it to do anything....

OK, what is this "CheckUpAgent" application? It isn't part of OS X, so I'm guessing you have it as a StartupItem. Tricky
You will need to look in several places to find this and disable it. I am assuming the application has been updated to use launchd, since there is no mention of SystemStarter. So you need to look in four places:
    "/System/Library/LaunchAgents"
    "/System/Library/LaunchDaemons"
    "/Library/LaunchAgents"
    "/Library/LaunchDaemons"
If the developer of "CheckUpAgent" has played by the rules, it should be one of the last two. The file you are looking for should be called something like com.app4mac.CheckUpAgent.plist, although they may have left off the "com.app4mac".
Now, to do this we must mount the disk to be writable, so after you have booted and run fsck -fy again, type this carefully !
/sbin/mount -uw /Notice the space before the hyphen and before the '/'. Then we'll look at these directories:
    cd /Library/LaunchAgents
ls -lIf you don't see the file there, then
    cd /Library/LaunchDaemons
    ls -land so on.
When you do find it, then we'll temporarily move it to the top level of your hard disk:
mv com.app4mac.CheckUpAgent.plist /but change the name according to what you find.
    Having done that, a
rebootshould allow you to try a normal boot again.
Make a note of any unexpected messages you see. Also if you do find the file write down the complete line from the ls -l command that shows it, since that will also show its ownership and permissions.
    Good luck!

  • Time Machine doesn't restart after restore

    Hello everyone,
I have a 2010 i7 MacBook Pro and just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Yosemite only to realise that it doesn't recognise my version of Protools. I decided then  to use my Backup which I have done just before upgrading (first and only backup I ever did, using a usb plugged external hard drive) and use time machine to restore my operative system back to Snow Leopard.
The restore goes fine until it gets stuck when trying to restart. It stays on the 'Restarting your computer' screen and nothing else happens. I tried restarting manually but it doesn't respond and also forcing it to quit.  Once I do this, however, it just begins the TM restoring process all over again (select backup drive, the actual restore) only to get stuck again at the same point.
I've tired this process several times now and nothing happens. I'm worried because it doesn't give me the option to continue in YOsemite either, it just always goes back to the same screen where I can only chose between restarting again and disk utklity. I have read other threads but they explain mostly what to do when you cant get it to work after restarting, mine doesn't even begin to restart!!
    Help please!! Thank you!

However, I haven't successfully backed up since the crash. Every time I attempt a back up I get an error message saying" Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume".
See #C3 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip* at the top of this forum.
Also, now it wants to back up anywhere between 75GB to 110 GB, even though little has changed since I restored it.
Yes, that's normal. Everything you just put on the disk is considered as being new +to that disk+ and will be backed-up: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1338

  • Ipad 2 not syncing after restore

I have an ipad 2.  I did a back up to itunes on macbook pro.  I then did the restore.  After it was restored to factory. This is what happens:
    1.  The ipad says to connect to itunes (via picture on screen).
    2.  The ipad shows up in itunes and asks me to restore from previous back up.
    3.  I choose the previous back up and click sync.
    4.  It does its thing...(the sync cirlcle on the ipad and itunes is rotating).  In the end, the ipad still asks me to start the process.
When the ipad is connected to itunes, I can see the apps movies, music with in itunes (as if it was synced).  but the ipad is still asking me to connect to itunes.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried either of these things?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • IPhone 4s stuck in bootloop after "restore all settings"

Recently, I tried to use the "Restore All Setings" on my iPhone 4S (non-jailbroken), and after it finished, it got stuck in a reboot loop and has been stuck like that for three days. I was wondering how to fix it (If possible without an iTunes Restore) and why this might have happened.

    Hi, TheWasteLandd.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is in restart loop, I would recommend restoring the device via iTunes.

  • Can't connect iPad 2 to Airport after restoring iPad

I am giving my iPad 2 to my wife. I reset everything and did a restore through iTunes. So it has a fresh install of iOS 7.0.6.
Now, it will not connect to my Airport Extreme network! I get this message, time after time:
    "No Network Connection
The Wi-Fi network you selected is not providing an Internet connection.
Change your settings or choose a different network."
    Here is what I tried:
    I rebooted the Airport Extreme
I reset the iPad (several times).
I triple-checked I am using the right settings (password, security [WPA2]).
I am well within range of the Airport.
All other devices using this Airport is working fine.
This iPad has worked fine for me ever since I got it with this same network.
I thank you in advance for suggestions or ideas.

    Hi Dunestrider,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend trying these additional steps if you cannot connect to the internet with your iPad:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network, and then reconnect to the network.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

  • Mac stuck in restarting after 10.9.4 update

Just downloaded OSX 10.9.4 update.  MAC is newish 13" Macbook Pro Retina.   Download went fine.  Mac screen says "Restarting".  Blue diagonal bars not moving.  "Wheel" is moving.  Been doing this for 3+ hours...
Have to catch a flight in a few hours...
Should I do a hard reset or wait??

I spent the last couple of days replacing the original spinning disk in my late 2011 MacBook Pro to a Samsung EVO 840 SSD. After using Carbon Copy Cloner to copy my disk contents to the SSD, I rebooted and was using my Macbook for a couple of hours. I have 10.9.2 on it. I tried applying the 10.9.4 update earlier today, the screen got stuck at the "Restarting" prompt, though the barber pole progress meter was moving, after an 1.5 hours no progress was shown. I tried rebooting the mac as others have done above but in my case, it bricked the Macbook. I couldn't repair the drive at all. Fortunately I still had my original drive available and I am now re-cloning it a second time.
Be warned. YMMV if you reboot a Macbook in the middle of an update. I will not be updating to 10.9.4 once it re-clones. I haven't had any issues with 10.9.2., and with all the other threads I've seen with people having issues with 10.9.3 and newer, it doesn't make sense in my case.

  • IPad will not activate after restore

Downloaded iOS 5 and after it does what it was supposed to in iTunes, it was time to do what it was supposed to on my iPad.  Received as error message saying there was a problem and the iPad needs to be restored.  did that and now it says the iPad can not be activated and it is not recognized when I try and sync with iTunes

I sounds like a hardware problem to me. I suspect you can send it back but first your typically need and RMA number which you get from Apple. Have you asked the locale store of how to send it back? Since it seem that it is within the 90 day free telephone support period you should be able to call Apple in the USA for shipping instruction. Go to the USA Apple site to find contact information.
