IPad Stuck on activation.

I wanted to upgrade my iPad 2 to iOS 7. My iPad was running iOS 6.1 so when I connected it to iTunes it asked me if I want to upgrade to iOS 6.1.3. I agreed and everything installed nicely. iPad turned on, I selected language and region, joined my wi-fi. And here is the problem, when the activation starts after like 1 - 2 minutes it says that the servers were unable to reach. I tried activating via iTunes, it displays an error that the operation timed out and I should check my connection. And my connection is fine, I have internet it even connects to iTunes store itself. I tried on a different computer, same thing. What to do? I can't even use my iPad not even speaking of having iOS 7.

The Apple servers are slammed right now with iOS 7 downloads AND activation requests.
Be patient and try again later.

  • IPad stuck in Activation mode and won't restore either...

    Hi,
A few months ago I installed the developer pre-release for iOS 6.0 on my iPad 2 and it got stuck in activation mode. Today I tried to to activate it again and it tells me that the "activation servers are temporarily unavailable". I tried restoring it and it wont let me. It also gives me a message that says the firmware has expired. I have connected to multiple wifi networks and they all give me the same error with activation. What is wrong?

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
       1. Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
       2. Restore and wait for error 1604.
       3. When prompted, click OK.
       4. Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
       5. iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
       6. Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • My ipod touch 5th gen is stuck on activation error, how do i fix it?

My ipod touch 5th generation is stuck on activation error and I got this for Christmas so I don't know what the ipod developer program is! please help

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • HT2188 iPad 1 requested activation after being low on power. Activation does not work.

    Hi
My iPad 1 requested activation after being low on power. Activation does not work so I have tried to restore it from iTunes.  this progresses but after rebooting, it gets to the activation process for a few minutes and re-boots again - in a loop now. on ios6, not 7. help please?
I also looked at trying to do a manual install of firmware via iTunes but I do not know the version of firmware or how to find it out - so really stuck!
    Thanks

I pulled my unit out of the dock - powered up and the display goes blank (if you look carefully you can see the bios boot screen, then black, then you can see the backlight turn off.
I plugged in the USB monitor and boom - I could log in.
Once Logged in I could see that windows still thinks it has some of the monitors from the dock, and the internal display is set to disable.
So the issue is the detection / setup of monitors in/out of the dock.
I've done about all I can do for dubugging, I hope lenovo can pick up from here. if not I'll have to call lenovo support.

  • My iPhone is stuck in activation mode

my iPhone is stuck in activation mode and when i type in my apple id it says "******@gmail.com cannot be used to unlock this phone" please help me

What so you mean by stuck? You should be able to activate it as long as it was set up with your Apple ID and password. Or are you saying that you don't remember your ID and password or you bought the iPad second hand and the original owner never erased it.

  • I brought an iphone 4 factory unlock and it is linked with an icloud id of previous owner, i dont even know id of icloud , 1 week ago i restore my iphone 4 n got stuck in activation screen, please help me out please?

i brought an iphone 4 factory unlock and it is linked with an icloud id of previous owner, i dont even know id of icloud , 1 week ago i restore my iphone 4 n got stuck in activation screen, please help me out please?

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for the original owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the original owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the original owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • Your iPad is already active on a subscription plan that cannot be managed on this device

    Help?
I got the new Verizon Ipad a few weeks ago and just now attempted to activate the 4g service. The first few attempts resulted in an error message related to my SIM card (something to the effect that it had already been in use or something). After calling Verizon and taking the card out, running through a script, and putting it back in, we eventually got it to the point where we could connect to the 4G service and that specific SIM card error message went away. However, now I am getting this error: "Your iPad is already active on a subscription plan that cannot be managed on this device". I called and talked to another rep who said they are experiencing this issue with a number of Ipads and she was submitting a ticket for me to get the error "cleared out". She said it could take a week?
When I go in and click "View Account" I either get this error message above or I get a brand new registration window to start all over again. Then immediately the "LTE" goes away in the upper left, it starts searching again, eventually finds the signal, and I get a popup saying "cellular data plan has been activated" or something to that effect. Then I am good to go.
Anyone dealing with this and have it cleared up? They are acting like its something in their system that will just go away on its on but I don't buy it. I am getting the service so I am just trying to get the "view account" functionality to work. Thanks all.

I had the same problem activating. I had gotten one error message when trying to activate. I didn't write the phone number down. I tried "View Account" again and then it started giving the error about the SIM card already being set up on an account. When I called that Verizon number the guy said I would need to go to a VZW store and get a new SIM card, but he did see the account in their system.
A while later I decided to just restart the iPad and I started getting the original message that just said it couldn't activate right now and to try again later.  It provided a different phone number, which is the Verizon mobile broadband support number. When I called it the lady knew exactly what to do. She said the payment to the credit card hadn't gone through and she would have to push it through manually (this sometimes happens with certain credit cards when they see new online cellular service).  She had me go to settings / reset / and to reprovision the account and reboot while she did some things on her side.  When it came back up it was able to activate and the LTE even showed up. I also checked my credit card online and it only showed the $20 charge (for 1 GB Plan).
However, as you stated, when I go to "View Account" it says that the iPad is already active on a subscription that cannot be managed on this device and gives the mobile broadband support number. I will wait a few days and see if it clears up on its own, but at least the data is working.

  • HT201210 Stuck in Activation Limbo, How do I get out of it?

I have an iPhone 4s. I've had iOS7 ever since the beta came out. I received it with my iOS Developer Certificate.
Last night my phone just went into the Activation Mode, like when you turn your iPhone on for the first time. It is stuck in Activation Limbo. It will not move past the screen after you select a Wi-Fi connection. This message appears...
"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes.
If this problem persists, contact Apple Support at apple.com/support."
Well I've connected my iPhone to iTunes and it says my software is out of date and needs to be updated. When I check for updates, it says my sortware is up-to-date and won't do anything. It won't even let me back up my phone.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way I can get my Phone back so I can use it? Do I just have to wait until it just randomly with Activate?

    Hi
I am having this exact same problem. Apparently you need to put the phone in DFU mode, then restore the phone (i would advise backing up your phone before hand) However my phone will not allow me to do this so i am stuck as well.

  • Workflow Process stuck in Active status

    Hi,
My workflow stuck in Active status and user is not able to proceed further. But it is not happening every time. Sometimes the process activty gets stuck. Could anyone please let me know the reason for this behaviour and how to fix this issue?
    Thanks

You need to get more information as to what is going on, identify more facts around the issue:
    1. First off, run wfstat.sql to get a history of the activities of the process as well as its attribute values.
    2. Once the workflow gets 'stuck' what makes it progress? For instance, does running the background engine with parameter Stuck processes=Yes fix the problem?
    3. Are there activities deferred that do not get process by the background engine?
    4. Does the process get stuck after a notification is responded to but 'nothing' happens?
It would also be useful to have the complete DB version.
    Regards,
    Alejandro

  • Does ipad have an activity log? I want to report on when it was on and being used?

Hi, No but there are many 3rd party apps in the app store but it all depends what activity you need to monitor or log

  • HT4623 I am unable to use my iPhone 3GS as an ipod, its stuck on activating your iPhone, sometimes i get an error server is busy or there's no sim card installed, and I am using an activated AT&T sim card, does anyone have any suggestions?

I am unable to use my Iphone 3GS as an Ipod, my Iphone is stuck on activating your iphone, I am using an activated AT&T sim card.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I cn bypass the activation screen to use my iphone as an Ipod.

you can't bypass activation.  Your phone needs to be activated for any of the functions to work.
This problem happens often to phones previously jailbroken.  Is this the case?

  • ITunes stuck in activation only mode

I have been unable to fix this with copious google searches. Computer is running Windows XP Pro SP3.
We are using the appropriate switches to launch iTunes in activation only mode and also to take it back out of activation only mode. I have tried creating separate shortcuts and I have tried doing it from a command prompt window.
iTunes is stuck in activation only mode and won't come out of it. If I log in to the computer with a different user account I am able to launch in normal mode. This problem seems profile related but I have searched the registry and been unable to find a key for iTunes that would obviously be causing this problem. The app has been reinstalled - made no difference.
What is the problem here? I would prefer to not delete the profile that iTunes is "stuck" in if possible. Thanks

Logged this as a SR on Metalink and the problem seems to be down to use of colons in my connection names.
I was using a naming convention of
host:SID     for accounts connecting as system and
host:SID:schema     for accounts connecting as specific schema
Which nicely groups and orders my connections by host. Sadly this prevents edit of stored pl/sql units (package, procedures, functions)
