IPad sync errors

I am having multiple iPad sync errors. First, I am getting repeated notifications to authorize my PC on random songs. I have followed the Apple support document and completed all steps with no success. Any other suggestions?
Secondly, many of the songs on my iPad have the cloud download icon after syncing. I have nearly 6 gb in free space and don't understand why they aren't coming across. When you look at the iTunes info of what is on my iPad, there is a little dotted circle next to these items. When I do download them to my iPad, then I end up with a bunch of duplications. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I had the same problem (13011) until today, but with the iPhone. What I did was remove all music files from the iPhone, deactivate Genius, quit iTunes, delete the Genius database in the iTunes folder, empty the trash, restart iTunes, reactivate Genius, and sync. Looks like the error is gone.

Do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!.......

  • IPad sync error message

    Hi
All of a suddden my iPad won't sync with my iMac. An error message comes up that states it cannot sync because a program on the iPad could not launch.
My software is up to date and syncing in the past has not been a problem. What to do??

    Scharie-
First try resetting the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting will not hurt anything, and often solves mysterious problems.
If that doesn't help, you may need to restore the iPad from the iTunes backup.  If that can not be performed, you might need to place the iPad into recovery mode.  See <iPad: Unable to update  or restore>.

  • IPad sync error

When syncing the iPad with iTunes on the Macbood Pro, using a cable of course, the sync starts but then stops at stage 3 of 6 unexpectedly and without syncing anything.  Repeated attempts to sync and searches for similar problems in the community have proven fruitless, hence my question.  Does anyone have similar problems or any suggestions?

To be clear, step 3 is transferring purchase when you sync?
If it is, try to manually transfer purchases before you sync. Turn autosync off in iTunes so that it doesn't start the sync until you initiate it.
If you are running iTunes 11 go to the menus and go to View>Show Sidebar so that you can see the sidebar and your iPad under the devices heading.
Then go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box at the bottom that says Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Click OK. Quit iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left under Devices and select Transfer Purchases.
See if that will transfer the purchases into iTunes. If it does, then sync the iPad and see what happens.

has anyone else encountered this error and if they have, how do u fix it, it is starting to make me mad thank you

Other people have had this error. I easily found them by using the search function on the right and searched for: 13019

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

First I would just try deleting the SCInfo folder, restart your computer, open itunes and see if you are still getting the error, at that point if you are it is a permissions error with the computer specificaly and not in itunes.

that is for deleting the scinfo folder. scroll to the bottom of the article and the steps are there

Thanks for your reply, but you might have misunderstood it a bit. I'm NOT trying to buy a movie. ****, I'm not even in the actual Apple Store, when this happens I'm in the library not the Store part of iTunes.
To clarify - I have purchased a physical copy of a movie which came with another physical copy which contains the digital copy. The digital copy is on the DVD, all I need is just to transfer this file to my iPod Touch, for example, I'm not trying to download it from the store or repurchase it and it's not any gift code that I've received, the digital copy is on the disc. This is the first time ever that I've purchased something on a disc and I'm not allowed to access it because the disc hasn't been purchased within my country.
So again - I'm not attempting any purchase or download any purchased digital copy - it's on a DVD I own physically so... why is even the region of my Store relevant, the code I enter is (as I assume) just supposed to check if it's a legal genuine copy (which it is, as I've said - there are 6 discs in the pack: 3 movies on 3 Blu-rays and 3 DVD containing these digital copies of them). If I own it, I think that's proof enough that I have the right to use it. I just don't get it. I fully agree with you and understand your point if there was any purchase going on here, but it's not, it's just - I put a disc into my computer and I can't access it

You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited.  See this article for more details.

  • Ipad syncing impossible - error -48

I tried to sync my ipad since I own it and spent many hours doing so without any results and I really need help on this one. The problem is that when the iPad is plugged in and trying to sync, iTunes gives me an syncing error -48 followed by many other error messages like "Error while syncing, the file could not be found", etc. Here are the steps I already been through:
-Reinstalling Itunes to latest version (3 times)
-Restoring to factoy settings from the iPad
    -Restoring iPad firmware from iTunes
-Delete the iPad firmware to force iTunes to download it and then perform restore
    -Restore as new iPad
    -Restore iPad from existing backup
None of the above worked and the strangest thing about this error is that I do not receive the same error message from time to another. Sometime I can sync 2-3 individual applications, sometime not. Sometime after an error message iTunes see my iPad as a 4Gb model and after unplug its back to normal. I think the problem is on the computer side since a full restore does not change anything but please dont reply the easy way with a "Change your pc to a mac". The error is probably due to a file corruption. USB port? is this possible?
Interresting fact is that I also own an iPod Touch and it also gives random sync errors. In these situations, I unplug it and then replug it and it work.
There is an walkthrough on the internet for that kind of error applyed to iPods. The procedure is available on the internet by the link below but unfortunatly cannot be applyed to iPads since iPad do not appear under My Computer.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't suggest that you swap your PC for a Mac, but I do suspect the problem is either in your Windows installation, or in the USB hardware.
Is there a friend's or colleague's PC you could try? If it works there, you know the problem is with the PC, not the iPad.
If t looks like the problem is on the PC:
Are there other ports on your PC that you could use? Try a USB port that doesn't use any kind of hub. I don't know what model of PC you have, but generally ports on the front of the case, or on the monitor, come through a hub. If you can, try one round the back (if you have a laptop, this is irrlevant).
Your Windows installation might have a porblem. I don't remember what Win7 has in the way of repair options, but that might help. If you frequently install and uninstall a wide range of sofwtare, it could cause this kind of problem.
If the iPad won't work on another PC then the problem is there, and you should take for repair/replacement.

  • Every iPad sync ends with - Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed unknown error -4

I started getting failures of this nature quite some time ago, though before that the iPad synced fine. I'm trying to sync to a latest model iMac.
The iMac was set up from the backup of my old iMac which died. Not sure if that's the cause of this. I have tried the file verification process I read about on another post, but after running it to completion it made no difference to the error.
This issue has continued through each upgrade since it started happening. Both iMac and iPad are on the latest OS.

Hello, I don't find a lot of cures for that, but might see the last post here...

Re: iTunes Error - attempting to copy to the disk "Macintosh HD" failed     Nov 21, 2010 9:08 AM    (in response to cosmocreek)
When itunes 9 was released, they also offered a different way to organise media.
Instead of putting music in "iTunes Music" it gave the option of putting things in "iTunes Media/Music".
    see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3847
Try putting things in the itunes 9 organization. Do this by going to the file menu.
Select Library > Orginize Library. If you can select "upgrade to itunes media arganization". Then click OK and let it reorganize your library. If you cannot select this (becuase it is grayed out) then itunes thinks it is already using that method. In this case, try renaming your "iTunes Music" folder to "iTunes Media" - apparently in some cases itunes did not make this change, which might be what is confusing your ipod sync. Be prepared to rename this folder back to what it was in case it causes problems . . .
