IPad Syncing iMovie to iTunes

When you sync or "send" an imovie from the iPad to iTunes.  Where does it go.  I've got home sharing turned on on my laptop (macbook Pro 10.7.3. - iPad is iPad 3ver. 5.1).

Force iPad into Recovery Mode (Step by Step)
1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
On Computer
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I'm trying to sync my old ipad to itues on my laptop but it keeps saying ipad synced with another iTunes library what can I do I don't want to lose these photos?

I'm trying to sync my old ipad to itues on my laptop but it keeps saying ipad synced with another iTunes library what can I do I don't want to lose these photos?

You can only sync an ipad to one computer at a time.
You can look to something like dropbox, upload your photos there, then do the sync and since your photos are backed up it won't hurt if they are deleted.

  • Aperture photos not showing up in iPad sync window in iTunes

Many of my projects and albums show up as empty or only partially there when I select them to sync to my iPad in iTunes. All of the projects and albums are there but most of them appear as empty when I check them. I have tried several things including dumping the 'iPod cache' in the Pictures Library, deleting and then regenerating the previews, making sure the preferences are set properly to export, and quitting and restarting the applications. Usually the projects are empty but sometimes it shows maybe 6 or so out of the dozens of photos that are in that project. It's not a RAW file issue either since the projects imported from my iPhone also appear empty in the iTunes sync window. I have had no problem at all transferring my photos from my Canon 40D to my iPad 4 and then from the iPad to my Mac. But this has got me stumped. Any help would be most appreciated. TIA.

I had updated the previews with no luck, I just restored my library from the vault and it is rebuilding everything now.
that worked! maybe update previews was different than a rebuild of previews, but i didnt see that option.
    thanks

  • Why are some of my movies purchased from my iPad syncing with my iTunes when I sync through the cable but others aren't?

I purchased about 5 or 6 movies not that long ago on my iPad, but once I went to sync them with my computer (through the cable), 2 of them didnt sync (21 Jump Street and Driver), is there any solution to this?

Are you using iTunes Match?  If so, try keeping it working on your computer but turning it off on your iPad (in Settings > Music).

  • Ipad syncing with existing itunes account

I have been given an ipad as part of a course and it has pdfs in ibooks.  I already have an itunes account for my iphone but I am concerned that if I this new ipad I will lose the pdfs in ibook on the ipad.  I also have books on iphone that I don't want to lose.  How do I synce and retain items in both?

You should be able to copy the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases.
Is there an account logged into the iPad (Settings > Store), and are there any apps from the iTunes store on it ? If there are apps then they will be tied to the account that bought/downloaded them, so unless that account is authorised on your computer's iTunes then they will be removed if you sync to your computer. If there is an account logged in on it then you can tap on it and log out of it and then log in with your account.
Anything that it is on your iPhone won't be affected.

  • I have a problem with my ipad sync to the itunes in pc

when i connect my ipad4 wifi to pc i receive an error from itunes that says it can't read the contents of my ipad and i must restore.what's wrong and what should i do?

Based on the message that you are getting, I suppose that you should restore the iOS software and then restore your iPad from a backup. Surely you backup, I hope.

  • IPhone and iPad sync session in iTunes won't begin

The most recent time I have attempted to sync my iPhone 4S and my iPad2 in iTunes on my Mac, the following happens.  iTunes recognizes the device, the little "turning arrow" appears and the sync window shows "Waiting to begin sync".  This persists for 15-20 seconds and then I get the message that sync was not completed because sync session did not begin. This is true for both Wi-Fi and USB attempts.   I have not had trouble previously with either device on my Mac.  What's the deal?

  • Syncing iPad-loaded Apps Onto iTunes; Loading Them to iPhone

Problem: I'd like to move apps purchased on the iPad to iTunes, so that I can then load those (iPhone) apps onto the iPhone.
Syncing the iPad to the iTunes computer doesn't seem to do it.
ETA: iTunes is on a PC.
    Ideas?
ETA Answer: In iTunes, right clicking on the iPad device, select "Transfer Purchases." That did the trick.

If you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading an app with your iPad, the app should be copied to your iTunes library the first time you sync your iPad with iTunes after doing so.
If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, with your iPad selected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPad. After this, select Sync Apps under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes.
After transferring the apps to your iTunes library, the apps will be available under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes to transfer selected apps to your iPhone. Select the apps you want installed on your iPhone followed by a sync.

  • How do I transfer tunes from my Mac book to my iPad without using the iTunes Match

How do I transfer tunes from my MacBook to my iPad without using iTunes Match?  I was told that I could do a direct transfer using my USB cable.

    You're welcome.
    Never owned an iPod?
Select your iPad under devices in the iTunes source list to make the various tabs for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes available in the main iTunes window.
This is also covered in the user guide. Apple includes a Safari bookmark with Safari on the iPad for access to the user guide.

  • IPad syncing issues getting on my nerves... suggestions?

When I first got my iPad 3G 64GB, I decided to sync as a new device and auto sync apps. Okay, but that put 22 pages of apps on my device and I was forced to spend at least a couple hours culling them down to just to fit the ones I want on the iPad... about 160.
Spent a good portion of the day yesterday filling up my iPad with comics and movies, and suddenly it gave a sync error. ***. So I try syncing and it recognizes it as a new iPad again, and deletes all my movies and tv shows. double ***.
Then I notice the syn apps tab is getting ready to put every single app back on my iPad once again, all 22 pages worth, so I hit the check box and stopped the sync apps function. It asks me if I want to delete all 160 apps, and of course I say no.
So then it goes to back up. A couple hours later it finishes, and this morning when I go to sync again, the syn apps box is empty, so now my apps won't sync properly. triple ***.
Is there anyway to fix this without putting everything back onto my iPad and deleting all the hours of work I spent on putting the comics there? How do I get the iPad to understand "yeah... well, I really DO want to sync apps, but don't add the unchecked apps in the list and put them on my device again... and don't delete the ones already there and replace with the whole setup all over again?"

Okay, but that put 22 pages of apps on my device and I was forced to spend at least a couple hours culling them down to just to fit the ones I want on the iPad... about 160.
Did you do this by deselecting the apps under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync, which removes the deselected apps from your iPad, or did you remove the apps direct from your iPad?
After Sync Apps is selected under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences, it must remain selected. If deselected followed by a sync, all apps will be removed from your iPhone.
With Sync Apps selected, you can remove an app from your iPad by deselecting the app under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences followed by a sync. To re-install an app later, reselect the app under the Apps tab followed by a sync. After downloading a new app with iTunes on your computer, the app will be selected automatically under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences.

  • IPad synced with PC - how do I remove "settings and preferences" from PC?

Hi all: initially, I synced my iPad with my office PC, but I decided to let my iPhone stay synced to that PC and I'll sync my iPad with my home MacBook Pro. It seems that the apps for the iPhone and iPad are really different. I ended up having to buy all new apps for the iPad as the iPhone apps showed up really small.
Anyway with that said, how do I remove the "settings/preferences" of the iPad on the PC?
Please give directions slowly as I'm really a Mac user and don't know my way too well around a PC.
    Thanks,
    Anne

Although most iPhone apps can be installed and used on an iPad, they are different. They were written to be optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch screen size. After an app is upgraded to be universal which includes being optimized for the iPad's screen size, it will look much better on the iPad. With my apps that have been upgraded to being universal, I do not have two versions in my iTunes library - one optimized for the iPod, and another optimized for the iPhone.
Anyway with that said, how do I remove the "settings/preferences" of the iPad on the PC?
    You don't, or can't.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPad can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content including 3rd party apps from an iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPad first.
You can sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers. An iPad can have different sync preferences under the various tabs for the iPad sync preferences with iTunes on each computer.

  • How can I share iBooks authored by me using iBook Author on 2 different iPads synced to two different computors? Both iPads have different iTunes accounts.

I am in the process of authoring an eBook using iBook Author.  The project is a work in progress and I want to share the draft with other collegues.  We each have our own iPads synced with other computers and we have different iTunes acounts.  I attempted to preview the book on the new iPad, but the iPad did not come up in the available device window.
Am I missing something or is there a way around this?

  • I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • Movie purchased on iPad & synced to iTunes not appearing on 2d Gen Apple TV

I purchased Terminator 2 on my iPad a week ago and it is synced to my iTunes movie listings. However, when I tried to watch the movie on my new Apple TV (2d gen), it was not listed in my computer library drop down movies menu. I have home sharing set up on both my iMac and the Apple TV and it works fine for everything else: all of my music and every single movie (except T2) and TV show that I have in my iTunes account shows up in the Apple TV menu.
And, yes: T2 does show up in the MOVIES section of my iTunes account on my iMac and I can watch the movie on my iMac, iPad and iPhone without a problem. This one movie simply does not appear on the 2d gen Apple TV!
Any ideas? Thx for any assistance!
