IPad technical data display any idea

Hello,
I just wonder, the tech specs from apple models are a bit on the shy side (not a lot of deep technical info). Now especially for using the iPad outside in sunshine it would be great to know:
-Luminance
-Contrast
-viewing angle
Does anybody have such information? I did not found them in the tech spec sheet nor any user manual.

Adobe Air + New iPad (iPad 3) retina display, any idea? any one?

Hi, I have tried countless amount of times to turn it on, I mean, how can I run my app on the new ipad at 2048x1536, it is always scaling up the app content times 2 and if I try to scale down the whole stage >> 1 (or / 2) of course all images looks blury and horrible, any idea? any one?
something very interesting to mention is that apps made in Adobe Air looks looks slightly better on iPad2 than iPad3, because the whole content of the air app is being scaled x 2, especially on vector content like Textfields fonts, etc... this is weird, it doesn't seem to happen on native apps.
any thoughts about this?

I did not use the command line, but rather Flash Builder's interface. But reading Adobe's support materials, I gather that in the Native Extensions dialog, setting the Apple iOS SDK is the equivalent of setting -platformsdk. So I set that value to point to my copy of the iPhoneOS5.1.sdk. Below is my sample project code. In the application descriptor file, the only thing I changed from the default is my project id to match the provisioning profile and adding <requestedDisplayResolution>high</requestedDisplayResolution> to the iPhone xml tag. I tested this out on my iPhone 4 and it worked great. On the new iPad only the top corner of the image appears on the screen because of the scale. I am using AIR 3.1, so unless the 3.2 beta includes a fix, it seems that Adobe needs to produce an update before AIR supports the new iPad's display. Please tell me if you find anything I missed.

I set up my new ipad 2 and connected to my wi-fi network but if I turn the ipad off I have to go in and reconnect. My other ipad automatically connected. Any ideas?

Did you already try to reset the iPad by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
If this does not work, reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset.
If still not luck, set it up as new device, described in this article:

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

Are you using ITunes 10.5? If so have you upgraded to the OS 5 software? Now it should tell you there's an even newer upgrade to the 5.0.1 when you try to sync your iPhone or iPad. Hope this helps.

FYI, your iPad will charge much faster if you plug it directly into an electrical outlet.
When doing the reset, as Jackkcc suggests, make sure you let go of both buttons fairly promptly after the apple image appears, then wait another 10 seconds or so for the iPad to start up. Note that a reset does not alter any data or settings.

G4 Quicksilver not recognising second 20" display - Any ideas?

I have just acquired a second 20" Apple Display (plastic version) to run alongside my current 20". Because my G4 has only one ADC connector I have bought a DVI to ADC adaptor to plug into the G4's DVI connector. However when I start up the second screen just isn't recognised.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
I have checked both monitors separately and they are fine. I have also connected a non-Apple display via the DVI connector and it works fine. Could it be a dud adaptor or have I been the dud and bought the wrong adaptor?
Any help would be really appreciated.

Yes I've tried swapping the monitors and neither will work through the DVI to ADC adaptor and all the cables are connected. I guess I must have either bought the wrong adaptor or the adpator is broken. Is there anyway you might be able to tell me if I have bought the wrong adaptor?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Networks
Then tap the Home button to close the Settings app. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Nobody from Apple answers any questions here other than those that go longer than 24 hours without a response and all that those Apple people do is to direct users to kb articles that might help in given situations. It pretty much ends there. So don't expect "Apple" to hear your pleas.
if you want help from Apple, make an appointment at an Apple store and see if they can diagnose the problem for you. The only other thing that I could suggest is to connect your iPad to another computer running iTunes. If iTunes sees the iPad, then the issue is on your computer somewhere. If you try this, you want to turn off auto sync on the other computer. Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically.

IPad won't display any videos

Hi all
I am on the road and had been watching videos on my iPad for the past few days. Today when I clicked on the videos icon, instead of getting a library of videos I get nothing but a black screen. No videos, no buttons to press, nothing. When I hit the home button, it goes back to the desktop normally. When I go to the settings button, I can see that system memory is being used, so the videos are there on the ipad. I tried doing the home button/sleep reset a few times but that did not work. Any ideas as to how I can fix this while away? When I get home, what should I do to fix this?

It sounds like you already did a reset:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If so, then I know of nothing you can do now. When you get to your syncing computer I would in order:
- Restore from backup via iTunes
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPad
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My macbook is running really slow. It's sluggish and takes forever to attach anything. The soft ware is up to date. Any ideas how to get things moving again?

You don't mention which applications are running slow, or which MacBook you have.
Did you perform a recent upgrade to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or perhaps OS X 10.7 Lion?
Do you let your computer run 24x7? Be sure to reboot occasionally. There are also maintenance scripts that run processes like disk cleanup and spotlight indexing overnight when you leave your computer on 24x7. They will not run if you shut your computer down every night, and then must run during the daytime, slowing performance somewhat.
Is your hard disk nearly full? Less than 10% free space is not recommended, because the system slows down as the hard disk 'finds' free space.
Use Disk Utility to verify and/or repair permissions on your hard disk.
If your hard disk is going bad, that will also slow system performance as the drive retries multiple times to retrieve and save data.
Less than 2GB system RAM memory installed? Open Activity Monitor and check System Memory in the bar at the bottom of the screen. If Page outs and Swap used are in the Gigabyte range, it's a good indication that you need to purchase and install more system RAM memory.

Below that line there is an Apple ID which is the primary email address being used by the iPad. You can make changes there to change the email address.
