IPad three will not reconize my apple ID for face time

Every time I try to log on FaceTime with my apple ID it will not verify it! But when I buy stuff off of iTunes it works just fine! What should I do? I have even made new user Id to see if that would work but it won't !!!!! Help!!!!!

    For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices. 
    That all works.
    It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
    I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

  • IPad 2 Will Not Charge with Apple Charger, Soft Reset, Full Restore, etc. Advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance for your help.
    I have an iPad 2, which was purchased online in May 2012. My iPad will not charge - the upper right-hand corner shows a charging symbol, but the iPad does not gain power. I have tried the following:
    Charging the iPad with the APPLE USB cable and APPLE wall plug provided with the iPad in several different wall outlets
    Charging with another, alternate apple cable (in case the apple cable I was using wasn't working)
    Charging with an non-apple cable and plug into a wall socket
    Charging the iPad with an apple cable into my Mac
    Charging the iPad into a non-apple laptop
    Performing a soft reset, by pushing the home button and power key down until the iPad reset (tried this several times, before and after full restore)
    Performing a full restore, which involved updating my iPad to version 6.0, wiping the iPad clean, and then restoring it from a back-up (tried this several times)
    Charging the iPad while completely powered off
    Letting the iPad completely die, and then charging it - it took me several weeks to get any power back and for the red charging symbol to go away - I did this by leaving it plug into my non-mac laptop for several days, after which it finally charged it back to 14%, showing the "Not Charging symbol" the whole time.
    Removing my case off the iPad (in case the case was blocking the proper insertion of the USB cable)
    Blowing on the iPad port to remove blockage from dust, etc.
    At this point, I'm not sure what else I can try. I combed the support threads thoroughly to ensure I didn't miss any other options, but I am hoping someone else may have thought of something I didn't try. I know that the fastest way to charge the iPad is to use the 10w USB cable provided by apple, into an outlet. I have tried this several times - it doesn't work. The charging symbol shows up in the right hand upper corner, but the display does not show a charging battery, and the iPad does not increase in charge.
    I do not live in a city with an Apple Store, so I am hoping you all can provide me with a solution, as it will be a 10+ hour round trip to get this resolved in person, in store.

    When you say " tried to reset it ", does that mean you tried holding down Home and Sleep till the screen went black and a white Apple logo appeared? That usually resets my batteries and lets them reach 100% charge.
    If all fails and the device has a few years on it, the battery may very well be dead. Happens to all rechargeables. A trip to the Store for assessment will be inevitable to check the charger, cable and device. And if needed, a battery replacement alternative will be offered.

  • IPad 2 will not mirror on Apple TV

    I bought third generation Apple TV for the sole purpose of mirroring FaceTime to my tv.  I have an iPad 2 and the mirroring functionality is delayed by minutes, not continuous and just does not work as advertised. I used an iPad mini using the same Apple TV and works like a charm. All devices have the latest software. Bluetooth is off as I saw on other posts.  The iPad 2 does work with to send music, photos and videos to the Apple TV, but that is not the main use. Extremely disappointed. Will be returning the Apple TV, to perhaps get the wired connection which I know works, but don't want to be tethered. Anyone been successful.

    Ok, I have this exact same issue happening here. A friend of mine recently purchased an apple tv(assuming its a 3rd gen since it was purchased new last month). Mirroring with his daughter's 32g white ipad 2 has this same issue. They took the ipad to apple who swapped it put with another white 32g ipad 2 and after testing it also has the same issue. O eliminate network concerns I tested using my personal black 32g ipad 2 and mirroring works perfectly. Very responsive, no delays and clear screen resolution. Testing using my wife's white 16g ipad 2 and it has the same delayed mirroring issue??? Finally testing using my wife's new white ipad mini and it works great and I tested using my iPhone and it also worked.
    So in conclusion, out of 4 ipad2s, 1 ipad mini and 1 iPhone 5, only the phone, mini, and 1 black ipad2 works. All on the same network, all testing within minutes of each other. This is not a network issue, it is an issue with the tv. Anyone else have this? Thinking of taking it all to apple tomorrow so they can see it all in action at the Genius Bar.

    Just added the new ipad air to my itunes account. When I go to purchase or download apps it will not ask for my itunes account info, a grey box appears on my main screen with "waiting" under it and in the "app store" it will show the app that i chose with a constant spinning circle. Any ideas?

    The iCloud account has nothing to do with downloading apps over wireless, but if you do not have an iCloud account you can delete that account information if you want to do so.  Do you have other use of WiFi with the iPad?  It is connecting and working correctly for email and such?
    You could try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and then re-select the WiFi network and enter the password again...then do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
    All of that may clear problems of a minor nature.

    Try putting it into recovery mode.
    Connect iPad to your computer via USB while it's turned on.
    Open iTunes
    Hold the iPad's Sleep/Wake switch (power button on the top of the iPad) down until the "power off" slider appears.
    Power off the iPad completely (wait for the progress spinner to disappear).
    Hold the Sleep/Wake switch AND the Home button down for a full 10 seconds.
    After 10 seconds (the second time you'll see the Apple logo on the screen) release the Sleep/Wake switch while still holding the Home button.
    Continue to hold the Home button for another 10 seconds until the USB connection image appears on the iPad's screen, then release the Home button.
    A pop-up message will appear on iTunes saying it has detected an iPad in recovery mode, you must restore...
    Click on the "Restore" button and the process will begin.

    You might have some sort of interference or communication problem, I just wanted to check you were entering the right ID to begin with.
    If you are using the correct ID (without spaces), then you might try restarting the router or trying another wifi channel to eliminate interference.

    I just purchased a remanufactured Photosmart 7510I followed the directions to the degree.when I got to the step to install the cartidges all it will do is click click..sounds like the teeth are jumping on the beltit stays to the right side and will not go to center to install cartriges. I referred to the HP video site and tried the reboot and power off.I looked for shipping tape or something that prevented the carriage from moving did not see anything even with a flashlight.I have removed and went thru the paperjam instructions on your videos. The packaging was really good and sound no signs of abuse or hard handling.I just got the printer and it has never had a ink cartdige installed yet. Can you suggest something I am missing.I have contacted the seller to notify them of the issues but have not heard back yet.

  • App store will not accept my Apple ID for updates after installing Mavericks?

    I have recently installed Mavericks on my Macbook Pro.  After installing it the two new updates for iPhoto and iMovie popped up.  I click on the 'update' icon and I am prompted for my Apple ID as usual.  After entering the correct ID the prompt disappears as if correct, but then re-appears asking for the password again.  The prompt does not actually say that the wrong Apple ID or password has been entered.  The updates do not install and the prompt remains.  I know I have the right ID because I can install other apps using the same ID.  I definitley have the right Apple ID.  Now I cannot open iPhoto because it says that the application is not compatible with the OS!  Has anyone got any tips on how to install these new updates and get around this error?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Following the info from support I enrolled into something called Mac Up to Date program, then you give them your serial number, invoice, etc... and then they seem to review the information and decide whether you qualify or not. I am still waiting for the answer, but I seem to be eligible (bought my new iMac on the 2nd of October and a few days after it was announced that all new Macs would receive iWork for free, so I guess my computer qualifies as 'new' - it is a late 2013 model after all).
    But right now all iWork apps still appear to me as paid apps on the Mac App Store. It would be much easier if they appeared as free apps right away, but it seems the Mac App Store is a bit temperamental. And then there is the problem with the iMovie and iPhoto updates, which some of us are unable to get and that it is not even generally acknowledged by the support staff.
    All these issues with the App Store are surprising for a company that takes pride in making things 'easy'

    Can you swipe the screen with four fingers and see if it goes to another screen?  Can you get to settings and then look at FaceTime and see if the email that is authorized is the one you think it is?

Now that all of that is complete, I tried to restore it from the back up point I created and it will not recognize my Apple ID password.  I really hope that I won't lose all of my data, but I don't know what else to do.     Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
    Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.
