Mac yes.. use BTMM and iCloud or direct AFP connection to the TC.
There is huge amount of info.. just look up remote access time capsule.
PC no.. there is no AFP protocol application that I know of.
iPad no,.. again it is not an AFP protocol device. The only open access method apple allowed is BTMM which doesn't work for ipad.
If you want access for PC and ipad you need to replace the current modem router combo.. whatever it is with one that includes vpn server endpoints.. these can be fairly cheap.. plenty of products with 3rd party firmware will work. VPN is far superior method.

Nope. There are currently no Lan adaptors for iPad. and I doubt there are plans to support any at the jhardware level of the iPad, as it was designed form the get go to be fully wireless.
If you have a Lan, you can go buy a wireless access point and connect it to your wired lan to create a wifi network from it. Its really very simple, and very cheap to do.

My IPad will not see my iTunes library, but iTunes syncs the iPad across my LAN. Remote will not see the same but Sonos does. All was ok, but since 5 it will not work, any one else having the same issue. Home sharing on etc.

Got the same problem. AppleTV 2 see MacPro and 2 other MBP's and can play both music and movies.
3 ipads can see shared library but on entering it doesn't showing any music or movies.
Have you found a solution yet?

As I understood , you need configuration on controller side ... if that is the case... please follow below procedure ..
once you login to controller through GUI ... you need to select " Wireless " option
1) select wlan which you want to configure with WPA2 ...
2) you will get page with all details about corrousponding WLAN
3) select " Security " option in wlan option
4) once you click on security option , you will get option with WPA+ WPA2
5) select that option with what type of encryption you required ...
I believe you need wpa2 with personal edition. if so ... please select PSK with TKIP option .
once you do that , it will be activated from controller side for the respective Wlan ...
About IPAD ... you need to select wpa+wpa2 with psk and TKIP .... I do not have clear idea about IPAD ...

Managing TV shows directly on the iPad

Hi,
I have a Mac and an iPad, and I watch a lot of TV shows purchased on iTMS, mainly on the iPad. It seems that I don't know how to use at best the Video app of the iPad, or that it lacks many functions. My questions are :
- how can I mark as seen the shows directly on the iPad, or sync correctly their seen/unseen status with the Mac (All my old TV episodes are indicated as unseen on the ipad and seen on Mac)?
- how can I delete a seen episode on iPad without having to sync with the Mac. I know that I can go to the settings and delete them in Utilisation/videos, but it is rather complicated! There is a modify button on the page of TV shows but it does nothing.
- how can I configure automatic download of the new episode on the iPad rather than on the Mac?

Do you watch these shows on your iPad at home while on the same network as your Mac or when you're away from home or on another network? If the former then you are probably better off connecting you iPad to your Mac's iTunes using Home Sharing and streaming them from your Mac to your iPad over your LAN. That way you never need to copy them onto your iPad, just use it to watch them.

Have wifi signal, logged in but not connected to internet.

Will not connect to internet. Worked fine last weekend at home and traveling. No internet connection this week at a different home location.

Probably your router is not assigning your iPad a valid LAN IP address. You can check this in the network details accessed by touching the ">" to the right of your network name in WiFi. If the IP address starts with 169 then you didn't get an IP address from your router.
Sometimes this problem can be solved by restarting your router by removing power. Also use Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings on your iPad. Also check to see that you have the latest firmware on your router.

The way it works is this.
Your router is a distributer of packets that go back and forth over the Internet.
The router assigns a "lease" of a internal IP address to all the computers that connect to it so ti can keep track of what packets are supposed to go to what machine.
DCHP is the protocol for establishing the handshaking going on between the router and the computers/devices and allows the router to assign those devices their internal IP address to use, you don't have to set anything but using the DCHP handshake process on all devices, the router assigns the IP address automatically.
FYI, the external IP is the IP address that is used between your router + modem to talk to your ISP, this is the IP address that faces the Internet and can be viewed on websites like this.

So you need to do two things, to make sure your time and date is current on both devices and make sure that DCHP is being used to "handshake" between computers and iPads on the LAN (local area network)
You may have to reset all devcies (power down, then up again) after making sure DCHP is on and time/date are current. Do the router first and allow it to set up.

We have developed some in-house Iphone/Ipad apps with XCode and plan to distribute to employees' Iphone/Ipad wirelessly.
At beginning we place the IPA/Plist files in an internal IIS 6.0 web server and distribute to some Iphone/Ipad devices using LAN WIFI, it works.
Now we put the IPA/Plist files in an IIS 6.0 web server in DM Zone with SSL (open to internet) in order that our employees in overseas office can also install the apps. Those Phones using 3G internet connection have no problem to connect to out https:// webpage and can view the link of Plist file, but when we click on the link, it shows "Cannot connect mySite ....".
We applied for trial SSL certificate and install both server and iphone/ipad, the problem still persists.
Could you advise what is going wrong and what is the solution?
We have IOS Developer Enterprise Program license, does in-house distribution only allow the use of LAN WIFI but not Internet?

Linksys EA3500 Smart Wifi random disconnects

I have been experiencing this issue for quite some time now.
Ever since ive upgraded the firmware to the smart wifi one
every device connected to my router (ipad, laptop by lan cable etc)
randomly gets disconnected and then reconnects after 2-3 mins
Its frustrating to keep experiencing this and i cant find a solid solution online
If this still persists, im considering downgrading the firmware to the old one
looking for experts asap.

Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6 is recommended.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.

2.4Ghz and 5Ghz routers: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N or Mixed on 5Ghz?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.

Is there a PORTABLE wireless router that I could travel with to convert hotel LAN lines into wireless signals for my iPad?

I travel regularly to Asia and I have been trying to compile everything I need into my iPad. Unfortunately, most of my hotels do not have wireless in the rooms just an LAN line. Does anyone know of a router (as small as possible) that I can plug an LAN line into that will convert it to a wireless signal I can access with the iPad. What I don’t want is to have to plug the router into a computer and program it forevery different LAN line I encounter. Thoughts???

As the others have said, Airport Express is one option. The catch as Allan said is that the configuration utility doesn't run on the iPad. It is rumored that iOS5 may have the utlity, but that doesn't help you now. If you can wait, then the Airport Express would arguably be the best for the iPad.
If you can't wait, you could get the D-Link DAP-1350. You configure it through a webpage, similar to how you would other home routers.

I use the older DWL-G730AP 802.11g version and it's been very good to me for use by my Macbook Pro and iPad1.

Can't get iPad 4 to accept LAN password.

Just setup new iPad 4, but I can't get it to accept my LAN password. It finds the Wi-Fi network name, but won't recognized the password my Windows 7 says is the network password. Can it be that my Home Group network and the Wi-Fi network are two different things?

Windows 7 doesn't set your wifi password, your router does.
The password generated by Windows 7, I believe the one you mean, is for sharing files across the network with other windows machines-it's not for accessing wifi.
