IPad to PC virus sharing

I accidentally clicked a link in a scam email (FedEx scam). The link took me to a page that wouldn't load, but my concern is that my computer (not a mac/work pc) will be affected when I try to sync it later. What should I do to avoid issues?

If the email has an attachment containing a virus, probably, but there is no reason to believe it did. The email in the screenshot above did not contain any file attachments.
This is just an attempt to get you to click on the purple button, which will either direct you to a malicious website or something else that will attempt to convince you to reveal personal information. As a rule you should never click on links in an email for this reason.
Phishing attempts cannot be detected by anything. Only your own common sense can prevent you from volunteering personal information to total strangers.
This one was lame, but the scam artists are getting better so be vigilant.

I know this has been solved as you reported, but I think you need to check with your e-mail provider. Did you also get this same e-mail on your computer? If you use the same ID for e-mail on computer and ipad, it should have appeared on both. It's very common spam. Check your computer to see if on it, the e-mail is in spam, or, if you deleted it on your ipad, check your recently deleted e-mails.
You might want to consider changing your password, though people sending spam, don't need it. My e-mail provider had me change my password, not because I was getting spam, but unknown to me, I was sending it!  (You'll still get some spam, though.) It's when you learn that you're unknowingly sending spam...that you must change your password.
    Hope this helps.
(Ss I was sending this, I just got an e-mail notification from the Nigerian... it got to my e-mail instead of going to spam.)

  • What do I need to do to the iPad to enable File Sharing?

I have a new iPad mini with retina display.  I cannot make Sharing Files in iTunes work.  All the apps that can share do show up in the File Sharing list, on the left.  But if I click any one of them, nothing shows in the column on the right.
I can use File Sharing successfully with iTunes and my iPod Touch.  What do I need to do to the iPad to enable File Sharing?
    Thanks!

    iPad works the same.
Without using wifi and the Cloud Pages, Keynote and Artstudio will not stay in sync.   If you are not going to use wireless and the cloud you will have to constantly use "transfer purchases" each time to sync any changes on the mobile device back onto the computer, then sync the computer back to each mobile device.
This isn't a file sharing problem.   You are using devices designed to share via wifi and the cloud, but NOT using those features.
This will force you to constantly copy back and forth each time you make changes.
**You might want to check in Settings > Pages > turn iCloud switch to OFF (not green)   This may resolve moving back and forth with cables as the iPad will not expect to use iCloud.

    Hi,
Are you talking about changing the Apple ID used for purchases in iTunes? If so go to 'Settings->iTunes & App Store-> then 'tap' on the Apple ID that appears and click Sign Out on menu that appears. You can now login with a different Apple ID.

  • HT4061 I think I have a virus, yesterday I opened this message from verizon about me owning 1,000 to them. and today I have 8 messages from someone on my ipad. how can I tell or fix my ipad of this virus?

I think I have a virus, yesterday I got an email from Verizon that I own $1000 and I tried to open it and now I have 8 emails from the same sender. DO I have a virus and what should I do to clean my ipad?

Chances are your iPad is fine. when you clicked on that e-mail, you confirmed to them 'hey, real person' so now Mr Spammer is working towards his 'make money from home' quota of spam by sending you multiple e-mails. You can block him - I'm not sure what e-mail client you're using so no idea for exact instructions, but you'll probably need to do this on a computer not via the iPad) and you could report him....wouldn't hold my breath that the report will actually accomplish anything beyond the person being blocked.
The iPad's operating system is different from the OS of a PC or Mac. Viruses written for one can't run on the others. (and iPads dont' get viruses in the strictest definition of the term, malicious programs that propogate themselves across the operating system)
The down side, even if you block this person, they know your address is a 'live' one so you'll need to be alert and aware because I'm sure more spam and phising mails are on their way.
If you did enter ANY info, make calls and start changing passwords ASAP.

  • Is it possible to setup more than one person's iTunes iPad account on a shared computer?     We each have an iPad to setup.

is it possible to setup more than one person’s iTunes iPad account on a shared computer?     We each have an iPad to setup.
Would the data be combined or would the 2nd person have a separate iTunes program. How would this be done?

I'm not totaly sure if I understand your issue, but it sounds like you want to use the same spry widget with different settings on the same page? Is that correct?
I dont use spry tooltips, however, what would see to work would be if you configure the second spry tool tip, perhaps in a seperate page, rename the new or second set of js and css files to read
    <script src="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip2.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
So now you will have two seperate js files and css files.
    So you have this
    <script src="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip2.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../_scripts/SpryAssets/SpryTooltip.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
See how that works for you.

  • Im worried incase my Ipad has a virus

I was on what seems like a very secure website looking at audition monologues when a notice appeared saying "You may have (4) viruses. Press ok to start scan"  But I wasnt sure if the notice itself was a virus so I pressed cancel. Now im not sure what to do, I have no clue if I have a virus and I dont know how to check. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

    That is a scam
They can't tell from the web if your iPad has a virus
Besides as long as your iPad is not jailbroken, it can't have a virus
    Ignore them
If they get too bad them stop visiting that web site

  • HT2688 Music Sharing ... NOT 'Home Sharing' ... is it possible on an iPad to see a shared library?

This is about 'Music Sharing', as defined by Apple. I can tick a box on my MBP and the library is visible to other macs on the same network.
Can I make it visible to iPads?
Please do not suggest 'Home Sharing' through a registered apple ID ... that is not what I need. If multiple Macs can share music across my local network in this way, then can iPads as well. I do not want the files copied to the devices. I just want the iPad to see the library like all of my macs can ...
    Thanks.

Only if you jailbreak can you get a virus or malware.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • My itune's songs won't play on my iPad while using home sharing

I have the New iPad. As soon as I got it, I activated the home sharing on my notebook's itunes (I use Windows 7), and it was working ok. Recently, I had to format my notebook. Then, I reinstalled itunes and re-activated the home sharing, but there's something wrong. My song library shows up on my ipad, but when I try to play them, they won't play. No sound comes out, and the player bar won't go further than 0:00 secs. I tried reseting the app and rebooting the iPad. Other sounds (eg videos, internet etc) are being played normally. What could be wrong?

Make sure the anti virus or fire wall isnt blocking it make sure on itunes you have the comptuer authorized
-Itunes>Advanced/Store>authorize computer>Turn on home sharing and make sure the apple id is the same as whats on the ipad as well.

  • How do I share my iTunes library to an iPad without using "Home Sharing"?

I have set up my iTunes library to be shared with others over our home network.  This is the "Share your library" option, and NOT "Home Sharing" since my wife has her own Apple ID and I, unfortunatly, have 2.  She was wanting to listen to our music on her iPad but could not figure out how to access the shared library.  The "Music" app (click more, select library) only seems to work for Home Shared libraries.  (In fact, I had tried Home Sharing first and when I turned it off, all of the buttons at the bottom of the Music app's screen disappeared - note:  she has no music stored on the iPad.)
So, how can an iPad access a shared iTunes music library without using Home Sharing?
(iPad 2, iOS 6; Mac 10.8, iTunes 10 because 11 totally inhibits my ability to use my iPod the way I want.)

-> Home Sharing is different than logging into the iTunes store.
You enable Home Sharing using one AppleID. Doesn't matter which you use but all devices must use the same AppleID for Home Sharing.

  • How do you not share contacts on your iPad and iPhone when sharing an apple ID, How do you not share contacts on your iPad and iPhone when sharing an apple ID

How do you not share contacts when having an iPad and iPhone when you share an apple ID

Presumably you mean you are sharing the same iCloud account? Except for turning off contacts on one of the devices, you can't stop sharing contacts. iCloud accounts are not designed to be shared among different people with different personal data.
You should each gave your own personal iCloud account, setup under your own individual AppleID.
You can still use the shared AppleID for the iTunes and AppStore purchases you already have though.

  • Can I save music from my itunes macbook to my iphone/ipad mini via home sharing?

Or can you only play it in your home with the home wifi?
When I plug my ipad into my Macbook an error message comes up "The ipad cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 of later.
My Macbook is running itunes 10.6.3 and won't seem to accept 10.7, so now I can't put any of my music onto my iphone, ipad or ipod!
I would love some help with this ... I hope I don't have to buy a new computer with the latest operating system to enable me to put my music on my other devices.
I am hoping a way round this is to save content while the home sharing is on so that I can play it when I'm away from my home wifi?
    Thank you!

You can only play music from the computer when you use Home Sharing. You cannot download music to the I pad with Home Sharing.
Can you update your Mac to 10.6.8? Then update iTunes. Mac requirements for syncing with iPad are ....
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access6
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 8; Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    Download iTunes at www.itunes.com/download

  • ITunes, iPad, Remote app Home Sharing Problems. Please help!

So I have my 13" Macbook Pro with the latest version of iTunes installed (10.5.2)
I also have a 32GB Wifi iPad 2 with iOS (5.0.1) with the Remote app installed.
I am so frustrate with this stupid Home Sharing. I followed the directions the app gave me beginning with turning on Home Sharing on iTunes on my MacBook with my account. I then used the same account to turn on Home Sharing on my iPad from the Remote app. I wait a bit, and wait some more, and yet my iTunes library isn't shown in my Remote app like it is in my iPhone.
I've tried to find the answer to my problem via Google and these Apple Support Communities, but with no fix.
I wish you could just connect your device to the computer and punch in the 4-digit code like they used to have you do.
    Please help! Thanks in advance.

Try turning Home Share off then on on the MacBook Pro and then check Remote App to see if now appears and you can connect - for me it works but eventually I will have to repeat the process to get it working again.
The four digit code method still works.
    OS 10.7.3, iTunes 10.6.1  and iOs 5.1.1

  • HT1947 Why can't I see all songs for an artist when using iPad remote for home sharing music through apple tv.

Why can't I see all my songs for an artist when I search by artist using iPad remote? I'm listening to music via home sharing through apple tv using iPad 2 as my remote. All my songs seem to be listed fine under "songs", but when I select "artist" many of the songs I have for that artist are not there, any idea why that is or how I can fix this.....I suspect it's because many songs may not be associated with an album and it seems only songs in albums are displayed when I search by artist.

Thanks Ferretbite, but that's not the issue in my case, the songs are not part of a compilation. I just checked several of them and the "Part of a compilation" box is unchecked.....it seems as if the song does not have an album associated with it, it will not display under the artist when I search by artist on the iPad remote which REALLY stinks.
Hope someone else might have a solution.
