  • How do I save files from iPad to Dropbox without connecting to computer?

I understand how to move files from iPad to a computer using email or ITunes. I would like to be able to save a word processing file directly from my iPad wirelessly to my Dropbox folder. I have tried several apps without success, including Pages Copy to WebDav (I get an error even though I think I have entered the user name and password right; is there a special way to designate the server address). Anyway is there a method or an app that will allow me to save a Word or text file from Ipad to Dropbox. Thanks for your help.

I assume that you have Pages and the DropBox app on the iPad ... so do this and it will work.
From Pages - email the file to yourself. Tap the Wrench icon and select Share and Print - and then select Email Document. Select the file type from the pop up window - then email the document.
Go to the mail app - open the email - tap and hold down on the document icon - select Open in - Open in DropBox.

  • Can Officejet 6100 wireless print without network?

We just purchased a Officejet 6100 to use in a vehicle for commercial vehicle enforcement. We would like to use it to print wirelessly directly from a laptop without a network or cable. Is this possible with this printer? If not do you have a suggestion before I rip it out of the box? Our hopes it that it would connect with the laptop wirelessly and give the ability to print.

It appears from the manual that this is not a wireless printer.

  • Wireless printing without network?

Is it possible to print wirelessly without a wireless network? Is it possible to connect a printer to an AirPort Express? There is no broadband network in place.
We have 5 people(XP users) that need to use a USB printer. It may be a long shot, but I thought it may be possible.
If anyone has any thoughts about this idea or another solution I could use, I'd love to hear about it.

Is it possible to print wirelessly without a wireless
network? Is it possible to connect a printer to an
AirPort Express? There is no broadband network in
    place.
In this case, no, however you can use the Airport Express to create a wireless network which clients can join and then print.
There is no need for the Airport Express to be connected to any broadband or other internet connection.

  • Questions on Drivers & printing to networked Windows computer (CANON)

I'm trying to print over a network, to a CANON printer connected to a Windows PC.
My initial attempts resulted in the document being printed 75% smaller on the upper left corner of the page only. (Margins etc. are all fine).
Sounded to me like a driver problem, so I downloaded the latest driver for OS X(from CANON). I installed the driver, but now, when I try to setup a new printer, I still can't see my printer model (ip5000) in the available list. (The options are either Generic or one of the gimp drivers that came with OS X).
Where did it put the driver? - How can I make the printer use it?
And, how do you un-install a driver? (in case it doesn't work)
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
The drivers for the Canon PIXMA range of printers are not designed to work across a network, they are for direct USB connections. As has been mentioned numerous times in this forum, if you want to print to a Canon BJ printer that is networked, ex. shared by a Windows PC, you need to use the CUPS (GIMP) drivers that are included with the OS. The only exception to this is for the R series of the PIXMA printers, which have an Ethernet and wireless connection. There is a Canon network utility that redirects the spooled file to the remote printer.
Try using the S800 GIMP driver. You will have to open the driver properties and set it to Text to get good quality printing.
Better still, download the latest release of Gutenprint 5.0.0 and use the iP4000 driver. It works nicely to my iP5200R hanging off an XP SP2 box.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • To print without network setup

I think my router has bit the dust but until I can replace it, I want to be able to use the printer with one computer.  Is this possible?

Maybe.  You make no mention of what printer model number you have, what OS or how it was connected so I am guessing here since you have no data.  The printer may support Wireless Direct printing, but read your manual and check.
But yes, connect a USB cable most likely and reinstall it.

  • How can I print from iPad to a Brother printer with a TP-link tl-wps510u connected to it without using a computer? It doesn't detect the printer.

I have a Brother printer that doesn't have wifi, but I bought a Wireless Server Print to connect to it. I want the iPad can print directly to the printer without using a computer, but the iPad doesn't detect the printer. Is that possible?

I know that Brother has an app that works with its wireless printers, even if they are not airprint. My printer isn't wireless, is a wireless print server attached to the printer what is able to make this printer wireless. Could this app be a solution or only would work with the wireless Brother printers?
The Apps usually only work with wireless printers, though if its free, there is no harm in trying, and see if it gets picked up, but its doubtful, as the print server would need to transmit in the same protocol the Brother Print App is expecting from the supported wireless printers.

  • Is there a printer I can buy to print directly from Iphone 4S (perhaps via bluetooth) WITHOUT wifi or computer?

My parents purchased an iphone 4s and would like to know if there is a printer that they could buy which would allow them to print WITHOUT having a computer OR a wifi wireless network. I've researched bluetooth enabled printers but it is not clear if they'll work based on what I've read without a computer and network.

Any printer that supports AirPrint can print documents or photos directly without any need for a PC or MAC. I work for a printer company and strong suggest all my customers to buy Brother or Epson printers. Anything Brother or Epson with a (W) and the end of the model number will support AirPrint.

No, it has to be on a WiFi network.

  • HT204023 How do I set up to print from my iPad directly to a wi-fi direct printer WITHOUT going through my household  wi-fi network/modem?

How do I set up to print from my iPad directly to a "wi-fi direct" printer WITHOUT going through my household wi-fi network/modem? I want to get rid of my household internet service/modem and only use my iPad, but need to be able to print. Please help! Thank you!

Depending on the printer, you may be able to connect/print by creating an ad-hoc (Wi-Fi direct with no router) connection. Check with your printer manufacturer to see if this is supported.
There's a ton of info out there. You could google "ipad print ad-hoc" for some useful info. But the number one thing for you right now is to verify that your printer model supports an ad-hoc connection.

  • How do I print from an iPad to a windows network printer?

How do I print from an iPad 2 to a windows network printer (without AirPrint)?

Thx for the suggestion, but it defeats the purpose by having to have my desktop computer running. I am looking for an app or hardware device that will allow me to print directly from my Ipad to my printers without having to turn on a computer to do it.
I have tried the Lantronix xprint server and while it works with my older Brother Laser it does not work with my newer Kodak ESP Office 6150 (and it doesn't look like they are even interested in attempting to write support for it into their printer list)
I have tried every app in the app store and none of them do the job WITHOUT having to have a computer running on the network.
    Let me re-state the problem...
I want to print from either my Iphone 4  or my original version Ipad to my network attached printers without having to have a computer running on the network to do it. I have a Brother HL-5150D laser printer hooked to my apple airport extreme's usb port and a Kodak ESP Office 6150 connected to the network via WiFi. How can I do this.

  • Can you print from a iPad to an AirPrint printer without an Internet connection?

Can you print from a iPad to an AirPrint printer without an Internet connection?

    General Jer-
    Maybe.
If you can set up your AirPrint printer's WiFi to create an Ad Hoc Network, then your iPad can connect its WiFi directly to it and be able to print.
I have the HP D110 AirPrint printer.  As I recall, it was set up in Ad Hoc Network mode out of the box.  I had to change the setting in order to update its firmware over the internet.  You probably should do that as well, to be sure it has the latest firmware.
If you happen to have an old Apple AirPort WiFi base station, you can use its WiFi network for printing.  It does not require an internet connection to print.  Other brands may work as well, but some do not correctly handle the Bonjour data required by AirPrint.

It depends upon the capabilities of your printer. If you have an HP printer with a photo tray then the Photo app will print to whatever size you load in to that tray.
    There's some more information here:
Using AirPrint to Print Various Photo Sizes
With other printers the user is given a choice from the printer's loaded paper sizes. You can see an example of that here:
