IPad to projector

I have the original iPad and would like to be able to connect this to a projector to show photos slides when giving a presentation. I know that Keynote is supported when using a VGA connector but is the standard iPad photo app (in slideshow or manual)supported using a VGA connector?

Hi,

Looking for an iPad compatible projector

I have several X200s, with different types of screen, including a X200 with AFFS (but the glossy one) and two X200s with WXGA+ screens, though I never tried them in direct sunlight, I think the LED WXGA+ are slightly brigther, but the contrast and colours of the AFFS are much better; again, with the glossy model (the -110)
Before answering your questions it would be good to know which panel you have now? Some "s" models came with LED screens ex-factory. If you're sure you have a CCFL then an AFFS screen is plug and play. (
WXGA+ will give you more pixels, probably the best is trying to get a full assembly instead of the panel itself. You loose the webcam with such a screen (no way to put one under the bezel).
Generally speaking, if you have a CCFL panel and you want a LED one, you will need a different cable and LED subcard.
If you currently have a LED panel and want a WXGA LED, you keep your parts. If you want to go WXGA+ you need a different bezel.
I hope this helps and I didn't confuse you much :-D  (It's late now)

  • Connecting iPad to Projector - Panasonic PT-D5700 - Video "Jumps"

When connecting the iPad and iPad 2 via VGA connector to a Panasonic PT-D5700 projector, the video "jumps" at a regular interval of about 1.5 seconds in between each jump.
Has anyone else had issues connecting to projectors?
I was able to find a work around - I took the VGA connection from the iPad into an aux input on a document camera, then used the output from the doc cam and that seemed to clean up the signal and did elimate the jumping.  I have made this work with one brand of document camera, but not on another.
The VGA out of the iPad to a Plasma or LCD has worked with no issue, so I can only assume it is some sort of refresh or signal mismatch between the iPad and the projector.
If anyone has any info to share it is appreciated.
    Thanks

That's no guarantee. Check this list and make sure your mini is supported.

If your Bose can switch HDMI, why not get a DVI to HDMI cable and use that between the mini and the Bose? The picture quality will be lightyears better.

  • Connecting ipad to projector

I am trying to show my imovie on my ipad on a projector. When I connect the VGA cable the top border lights up blue but soon disconnects.

You need to buy an apple digital av adapter which is for a hdmi connection or an apple vga adapter for a vga connection.

  • Want to wirelessly display iPad on projector in my classroom

I have an iPad 2 and would like to display what I am seeing and doing on the iPad on the projector in my classroom. The projector is hooked to  a desktop pc. How would I go about this?

If the projector is attached to the ceiling with special cables through the ceiling and walls to the PC, then you'll have to find a way of connecting the iPad directly to the projector, not through the PC.  Check to see which types of input the projector offers, then check the Apple store for the appropriate cable.  However, I suspect the real problem will be finding a long enough cable to reach the ceiling.
If the projector is a portable one that sits on a stand that you can easily reach, then you should have to problems, assuming the cable inputs for the projector are compatible with what Apple sells.

  • Connect ipad to projector or PC

I teach in a classroom that has a PC connected to an Epson projector. I would like to use an ipad app (such as explain everything) to record audio/video of me working problems in class.  At the same time I'd like the ipad screen to be projected by the Epson projector.  I'm not sure if the projector has wireless capabilities, but it may.  If so, is there a way to connect the ipad to the projector wirelessly?  The other possible option is to connect the ipad to the PC wirelessly (I don't want my ipad tethered to anything), then the PC connects to the projector.  Can anyone give me pointers on whether any of this is possible and if so, what is the best approach?

The only way, I believe, to connect an iPad wirelessly to a projector is by connecting an AppleTV to the projector - and I don't think most projectors have the correct input for it.
You can use a number of apps to control the computer through the ipad. There are a few apps that are designed to replicate an interactive whiteboard. One I'm trying is Splashtop Whiteboard - it allows you to use the iPad to annotate over an image on the computer and then project it, or to even use their own flipboard as a background to writing. This would, in theory, allow you to do your work directly on the iPad and send it to the projector through the computer. I say in theory because we are having problems with it, both the app itself and then running it through a whiteboard projector - I've been working with a tech support rep at Splashtop to see if we can resolve it before I can decide whether to recommend to other teachers, as right now I can't - but other people apparently are using it succesfully.
Another app that has similar promise (and higher reviews!) is Doceri Remote. The app is free, but the desktop software is not - $50 (the splashtop app is $20), plus they strongly recommend their proprietary stylus. Because they sell the computer software and not the app, however, you can do a trial - 5 days, I believe, we're going to give it a try after winter break. You can also, I believe, record your presentation using Doceri.
For recording ... while Doceri promises it, it might be easier to use a Screencast software (such as Jing) to record it on the computer - if you're using one of these apps to control the computer and project out, anything on the computer will be recorded by Jing and then you can share it later.

  • IPad miniature projector

I am looking to use my iPad for presentations and want to find a miniature, high quality projector that is compatible with Keynote and can be accessed using the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter. Any suggestions?

There are a couple of companies that are making higher quality (ie. brighter and clearer) small (pico) projectors.
    http://www.aaxatech.com/products/l1laser_picoprojector.htm
    Laser projector 20 lumens, 800x600 - $599
    http://www.aaxatech.com/products/m1microprojector.htm
    LED, 66 lumens, 800x600 - $339
    http://www.microvision.com/showwx/
    Laser projector - 10 lumens - 848 x 480 - $549
All these companies offer ipod/iphone/ipad connectivity cables I think.

  • Wirelessly connect ipad to projector

I am a teacher and am looking to buy and ipad for my classroom.  Another teacher in my building uses an app on her ipad to record notes and upload them to a website for students.  Right now, she can connect her ipad to a projector with a cord but has to stay stationary.  I would like to know if there is a way to wirelessly connect the ipad to the projector.  Maybe by using an Apple TV?  This would allow me to walk around the classroom.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thank you.

Connecting to a projector does require a cable.
Your Apple TV idea could work, if the TV was at the front of the room, both are connected to Wi-Fi and you can use mirroring for the display.

  • IPad to Projector Using Bluetooth...

Has anyone done this or know that it is feasible? Using iPad's built-in bluetooth connect to a bluetooth-enabled projector. Idea here is to skip being tethered to a long VGA cord....
    Thanks!

Probably not. The following list the bluetooth profiles supported by the iPad. The PAN profile may allow such use but there has to be an app to do that. However, I could not find any such app.

  • Connecting iPad to projector (tv) via Denon avr 590 with hdmi cable

I did connect my iPad with hdmi to hdmi port I can hear sound but cannot see the video. I am using Netflix streaming. What am I doing wrong?

I use the Apple TV Adaptor. You connect IT to your TV, which means no Cable restrictions on your i Pad. The Adaptor is under my TV allowing the i Pad to be anywhere close by.

  • Where do i get the cable to connect Ipad to projector?

Where do I get the cable to connect Ipad2 to digital projector?

It depends on the kind of projector you refer to. If the projector has a VGA connection, you will need this  cable.
If the projector has a HDMI connection, you will need this one.
If you can choose, I would take the HDMI one, since it supports charging your device and playing at the same time. HDMI also carries sound, so you don't need an extra audio cable.
You will need an additional HDMI-male to HDMI-male or VGA-male to VGA-male cable to connect the apple cable (linked above) to your projector.

  • HELP!  iPad vs. Epson 1945W:  Cannot "find" the projector in iProject app!  Now what?

    Greetings and blessings, everyone!
The Epson Corporation was so kind to donate a brand-new $1600 Powerlite 1945W to me.  I like it because it can sync wirelessly to your iPad, meaning you can walk around the classroom without fiddling with VGA cables and iPad adapters.
Although I am still new at this, I'm not a bonehead.  I've read the manuals carefully and installed the iProjection app, but still no luck getting my iPad and projector to "find" each other!
Good Lord, I am so embarrassed!  How do I contact Epson Tech Support without sounding like an ingrate?  Or should I uninstall and re-install the iProjection app?  Or should I just give up and keep using the VGA connection, which works just fine?  HELP!

The app developer pulled the app due to some bugs. A new version will be in the store once Apple approves it.

  • Limitations on presentation using iPad

I would like to use iPad for doing the presentation occasionally during my business trips. I read some articles here and found there is a major issue that the iPad does not mirror the iPad screen to the projector by default (output the iPad screen to the projector and leave the iPad screen blank (black screen) and it only works depending on which software that provides the mirror function is used. It is a quite different behavior with all the laptop computer users as the laptops do it by itself. iPad appears not to do so and let the application software to do so. I would like to know if the below application softwares support the mirror feature (presentation material on both iPad and projector at the same time) to the projector via the dock connector to VGA adapter.
    QuickOffice
    Document to Go
    Keynote
However, I have learnt that Keynote for iPad is also very limited, such as not supporting notes! Is it a Keynote limitation or other two also have the same.
    Thanks!

The latest version of Keynote for the iPad now supports notes and it has a presenter screen, so that's no longer an issue.

  • Help! How to display everything on projector?

    Hello,
How to display everything in ipad on projector?

the new version is rumored to give the developers a little more access to displays, but it is still on an app by app basis. You would need to contact the developer of the app your interested in to see if they are going to implement it. (yes this includes apple, but they are most likely not going to give full access to display yet)
