IPad touch screen does not respond even after full restore and update
I have an iPad 2 64 GB
It has for a number of months intermittently stopped responding to any touch screen inputs. This issue began almost as soon as I opened the iPad for the first time. As it was happening very rarely and normally responded eventually, so I thought nothing of it.
This week the iPad will not respond to any touch input at all (Home, On/Off, Volume and Mute buttons still respond). I have tried the hard reset process a number of times and still nothing.
I backed up the device to my machine and applied the latest update 5.1.1 and still no response. I then did a factory reset and still nothing.
I have never dropped or damaged my iPad in any way.
Does anybody know of any ongoing issues with the touch screen or a solution to this problem?
Thank you.
I've already booked myself in to the Genius Bar this week.
I suspect it is a hardware failure and more specifically a loose internal connection.

It is getting very frustrating to have Apple products.
Constant software upgrades and product releases seems to be the sole focus of Apple.
Apple does not offer hardware repair services. I can understand this policy when products do not fail. But it seems that this is not the case with Apple, as it becomes frequent that products fail just after the warranty period.
New software releases also destroyed the value of a "GREAT EXPERIENCE". YouTube, Google Maps, ... all features that are deleted with the latest IOS and that Apple could not properly replace.
It seems that Apple products are not 'consummable' products but 'disposable' products.
Let's see how robust SAMSUNG tablets areApple has hardware repair services, on repairable hardware. Apple just doesn't repair iPads, from day one Apple has always replaced iPads, either under warranty or as a reduced cost out-of-warranty purchase.
The rest of your post is just a rant. Enjoy your Samsung products. -
The screen of my iphone 4 is blank and the phone does not respond even after pressing the on/off and home button, the only reaction is the vibration felt when I plug in to charge the phone. What should I do?

New ipad2: touch screen does not respond
Hello, my name is Alessandro, I'm from Italy.
I bought a new iPad 2 from Apple Store. After a day of use the touch screen does not respond and sometimes executes commands at random. I updated the OS, I restored as a new device, but nothing has changed.
Someone can help me?Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My apple iPad touch screen is not responding
My apple ipad touch screen is not responding it was working since few hours then that happened. There is no a single point on the responds to touch but everything is working on the welcome screen, detects the Wi-Fi ... etc.
First thing I did was passing on my local agent store. They did a soft reset what caused lose all data and apps (not a problem) but they didn't fix and asked to visit the support branch .. now i can't use the "Siri trick" and I think it's not helpful after resetting my device.
I tried removing the screen protector but still no hope. Turned off it and cleaned the screen but didn't help!!
Is There another way? Any expected scenarios/time when I visit the repair branch in Egypt?
I've upgraded to latest (7.12) 2 or 3 weeks agoThanks ..
I've mentioned that I did that now I'm in another stage, The iPad at the main reseller support department and they told me now that they will give me another in return .... the strange thing I have heard was that I have to wait 4 weeks until they get me one from Apple .. I'm i Egypt -
My phone freezes and the touch screen does not respond to my touch.
My i-phone 4 has been freezing up on me as of late. The buttons will still work but the touch screen does not respond to my touch.
Is my phone hooped or can I do sometinhg to fix it?First thing to try is a reboot of your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPhone restart. See if that fixes your problem.

my touch screen does not respond to my "slide to unlock". reset does not help. iPhone 4S works otherwise.
I cannot use it. I can get calls and text messages but I can't respond because the screen is locked and I can't "slide to unlock" because the touch screen does not work.

ok my iphone 3g touch screen is not responding, i can recieve calls and it can charge and connect to itunes, but i cannot go any further than using the home button or the power button, it is only the slide feature and touch feature that has become non existent. Also, i have a f'ew cracks in my screen for a while now and it was running smoothly up until saturday when i sat on it applying large amounts of pressure to the phone screen. Is there a way i can fix this myself without having to recover my phone to factory settings or wasting 50 bucks to get it fixed??
Hi Dire Dawa,
If the screen on your iPhone isn't responding, you may find the following article helpful:

Hello: Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
Could you specify the Mac OS X version and also what computer you
are using it on, with some detail? Some of these kinds of issues, while
they may seem the same across various years of OS X, can have
different causes and also different cures.
With that information, someone may be capable of researching a reply
most suited to try & see if it works in your computer + OS X system.
One idea, which may/may not help, would be to start the computer
from its most recent OS X DVD install disc, unless it has OS X 10.7
or Later, where there is a Recovery partition on the HDD to boot from.
Then use Disk Utility> repair disk, while there, also repair permissions.
Thanks.
Good luck & happy computing! -
Question: What do I do if ipod does not respond even after reset
I tried the advise, holding the sleep button and when the red slider appears I touched on the home screen until it fades. Still doest respond if aI turn on the pod. Please help, I can buy a new one anymore
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Touch screen in not working even after Hard Reset
My Palm Treo 750 stopped working and responding suddenly........i tried a soft rest which didn't worked i then tried hard reset but in both cases the device boots and screen pops up "Tap the Screen to Start The Device". However this is the point where my device hangs up even after resetting it several times. I have also downloaded reset software from the palm website but unfortunately it only runs/works from palm device. i have installed microsoft active sync from the palm CD and my device is detected and syncronized using USB cable which prbably shows it doesnot have a hardware issue.
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)Remove any screen protecters or cases, then hard reset again. If the problem continues then it will need to be repaired or replaced.

My Q10 Screen blacks out & touch screen does not respond randomly
Hi Gang. Hoping someone can help... I've got a Q10 (only accessory is a screen scratch film) and recently the problem with the screen randomly going black has untenably increased after updating to the new OS.
Key facts: T
he ONLY two ways the screen will come back is:
A: I restart by either removing the battery or pressing the power&mute button for 8 secs (and currently its now going black as soon as the hub initialises) OR
B: It <always> comes back when I plug in the USB cable connected to either power or pc and this seems to job it back to normality for a hour or so.
The phone is still operating when this may happen: for one example in the middle of a phone call (usually when i activate speaker phone) the screen will go black whilst still talking fine… but if i try and end the call/deactivate the speaker phone/do anything I hear the error beeps when i inevitably start mashing the whole keypad - but the screen will not reappear or read <any> finger gestures or singular power button pressing.
Btw. The phone passed all tests on the BBVirtualExpert App.
I have just installed the new OS 10.3.1.1779 (but it was happening before)
Anyone have any ideas? Anything to try or should I repair or get a new one. Thanks in Advance.I have the exact same problem. Can't find a fix or answers anywhere
