Ipad turning off

My ipad 2 keeps turning off by itself while doing tasks, any sugesstions?

Completely shutting off and you have to restart it? Or is it crashing when launching apps?
Does the battery have a full charge and if it indicates that the battery is fully charged maybe there is a problem with the charger (assuming you use the power adapter and plug into a all socket - don't plug into your computer) and you could try another power adapter and/or the cable?
You can try resetting the iPad and closing all apps and restarting.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If the behavior continues, you may want to consider restoring the device.

Also, I'm having issues with my Ipad turning off about every 2 minutes, and I want to restore it.  I want to make sure all of the files are backed up before I restore.  My trouble started when I was trying to update my IPad but it was taking too long (internet was scetchy) so I powered off...now Im having problems.  I haven't tried to update again since this problem. Any suggestions?  Should I restore? Should I update to 7.0.6?  (currently 7.0.3).

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iPad will stay on for minute or so, then will restart.  I have tried to restore, but it says I must have "Find My iPad" turned off. The iPad will not allow me to turn that off, so I am at quite the impasse.

  • After the battery run out my iPad turns off

My iPad turns off when the battery run out. Then I plug-in it for recharging. iPad start with Appel sight then switch off again. Then again start with Appel and off again. So it is not stoping on/off and not recharging. The USB cord is good, other devices recharging properly. That to do?

Plug your iPad into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

why my ipad turn off suddenly while working..??

I have been having the same problem for about a month.  It has now gotten so bad I can no longer use my iPad 3.
Having problems with my iPad 3 shutting down, starting up, shutting down continuously.
I have tried closing all apps in Task Bar & the sleep/home routine.  They worked for awhile, but now nothing is working!
I was told that this is a common problem with the iPad 3 and that it is a manufacturers defect.
It is 14 months old and Apple wants over $300 for send-in service.  I have tried to reset to factory defaults, but  ipad keeps shutting down & restoration never finishes.  I am not sure whether to have it repaired or cut my losses and move on to something else.  Frustrating & expensive.  Any suggestions???

  • Ipad Turns Off

I bought a cover from Brrokstone and whenever I flip the cover open to the back my ipad turns off. It happens immediately when the cover hits the back of my ipad. Any suggestions?

I am assuming it has to do with the magents on your cover, because the iPad supports turning off by closing the cover. Turn off the setting to turn iPad off when a smart cover is detected and see if same happens. If the same happens, then the magent on your cover is interacting with the circuitry of the screen hence turning it off - in this case you should return it and buy a better "smart" cover.

  • Is it common that the Ipad turns off?

( I apologize for my bad english, sry but im from Chile )
I started using iPad yesterday and i downloaded and installed like 20-25 free apps ( games and other stuff ) from iStore.
Then i layed on my bed with my iPad for trying each app, and when i was playing, suddenly the iPad turned off, and it didn't turn on after that. ( I was really scared, i thought i damaged my iPad, but i didn't know how ) So, i searched on the internet and the solution was to reset it. ( pressing both buttons for like 20 secs ) It worked!
But the problem is that.... today i had to reset my iPad more than 10 times because of that, it turned off suddenly when I was playing.
    Is this common?

Thanks, the battery level was high enough (more than 60%).
I'll go to a Technical Support store so they can fix it.
( again, sry if my english isnt perfect )
EDIT: the iPad also sometimes get stuck and sometimes get stuck and appears a blue screen :/

  • IPad turns off by itself and returns to apple logo screen

My iPad turns off by itself and I need to wait for 2-3 minutes for it to open and then it will turn off again and wait. I already tried pressing home and off buttons for 10 seconds but nothing happens.

    Try restoring the iPad software.

If that does not work, you may want to try recovery mode.

  • IPad turns off by itself.

My New iPad turns off by itself after I lock it when my iPad is at 50% battery life or lower. I've already done a restore and this problem is still here. Any tips?

    KimT.-
If it does need a repair, someone at a repair center would be able to test it and figure out what the problem is.  I suggest you look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>  <Another Option - For Country, choose “Show Complete Country List”>

  • How do I make my iPad turn off when the screen is covered?

My old iPad would turn off when I closed the cover but I cannot find how to make the iPad air turnoff in a similar fashion?

Yes it is a proper cover
If it is an APPLE COVER, perhaps it's not the one for that model. But, if it's not an Apple cover, then maybe the manufacturer hasn't set up the magnets the way they are supposed to be.
I'm going to quote from another post elsewhere ...
Are you using a genuine Apple cover or another third party cover?
It's the magnets in the cover which activate the lock/unlock feature to appear in your settings. In earlier iPads you could slide a magnet down the side of the iPad to find where the magnet activates and turn the feature on.....Apple have now changed how this works with the iPad Air. Whereas before there was only 1 magnet positioned in the cover for earlier iPads, it is now thought there are 2 with alternating polarity.
So if you want this feature you will need to buy an Apple cover or wait for third party manufacturers to get their magnets in the correct position.
If you do have a genuine Apple cover then there is something going wrong here....
