IPad turns off by itself.

My New iPad turns off by itself after I lock it when my iPad is at 50% battery life or lower. I've already done a restore and this problem is still here. Any tips?

KimT.-
If it does need a repair, someone at a repair center would be able to test it and figure out what the problem is.  I suggest you look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center.  There may be one in your city.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>  <Another Option - For Country, choose “Show Complete Country List”>

  • IPad turns off by itself and returns to apple logo screen

My iPad turns off by itself and I need to wait for 2-3 minutes for it to open and then it will turn off again and wait. I already tried pressing home and off buttons for 10 seconds but nothing happens.

    Try restoring the iPad software.

If that does not work, you may want to try recovery mode.

  • IPad turns "off" by itself every 2 minutes

I just started using my Apple iPad 32GB WiFi yesterday. Whether I am connected to the Net or not-connected, whether I am doing-stuff on it or not-doing - it just turns itself off every 2 minutes. I have to restart it by pressing on the 'Home' button. The iPad is fully charged (84% - the battery percentage indicator says). Is this a hardware defect? Do I have to return it to Apple? It has the standard OS it comes with, I have not updated any OS. Also I synched it with iTunes (9, I think). Please help.

    same to me.
Just opened the new iPad and while installing it started turn off and on by itself.
I tried restoring from itunes and resetting from the ipad.
    Nothing.
The next day I called support and they told me to reset.
    Did it again.
It seemed to fix it and for 24 hours it did not turn off.
This morning it started again: on and off every 2 minutes, 5 times in the row.
I am resetting again right now.

  • HELP! - iPad turns off by itself

My iPad 2 recently started just turning itself off (screen wipes from left to right, shuts off and then restarts). I did all the reset settings and restores but the problem got worse to the point it would only stay on for about 10 seconds then shut off.
I took it to the Apple Store and - great service as usual - they told me it was an issue with the logic board and replaced it free of charge with another iPad 2.
I then restored from my backup and yet again, the new iPad shut itself off after about 3 minutes and now does it after about 20 seconds.
HELP?!? Has anyone else had this problem. It can't be a logic board issue with a brand new iPad.

    1. Restore to Factory Default
    2. Install one app at a time
    3. Test thoroughly before installing the next

  • HT1430 My iPad this morning decided to turn off by itself!!!

My iPad this morning decided to turn off by itself, i was in the itunes store buying a movie and it went black for 1-2 seconds and went onto the home screen and then the apple logo appeared and rebooted itself i didnt even have to turn it back on it just came back on by its self?? why did this happen and is there something wrong with my ipad?? HELP!!!!!!!!! I decided to turn it off and leave it turned off for the rest of the day is this a good idea because i have allready done it!!

All software has bugs in it, and it's possible that a bug caused an abend and your iPad to reboot. If it becomes a regular occurence then you could try restoring to your last backup or back to factory defaults and resync your content (but make sure that you copy anything important off first if you do reset back to factory defaults).

  • I am having trouble with my i pad it freezes it turns off by itself and the screen turns blue?

I am having trouble with my i pad it freezes and it turns off by itselfI and screen turns blue?

Start by rebooting the iPad by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restart, ignoring the red slider if that appears.  See if that helps.

  • My iPhone 5 turn off by itself since i updated to ios 7.

My iPhone 5 turn off by itself since i updated to ios 7. I tried to recover it but still have the same problem.

I'm also experiencing this problem. Several old posts suggest cleaning the charging port, but I had no luck. This is happening on my iPhone 4S and my iPad. It could be an app issue since it's only happening for some people.

  • Ipad turning off

My ipad 2 keeps turning off by itself while doing tasks, any sugesstions?

Completely shutting off and you have to restart it? Or is it crashing when launching apps?
Does the battery have a full charge and if it indicates that the battery is fully charged maybe there is a problem with the charger (assuming you use the power adapter and plug into a all socket - don't plug into your computer) and you could try another power adapter and/or the cable?
You can try resetting the iPad and closing all apps and restarting.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If the behavior continues, you may want to consider restoring the device.

  • IPad turns off automatically

All of a sudden my iPad is turning off by itself.  It seems to be only in email, I can't get very far, but when I try to forward a message and cut the previous addresses out of the top of the message, it shuts off.  I had some problems yesterday trying to get all of our email accounts working on different computers and the service provider fixed a couple of problems at their end, but what would that have to do with not even getting a chance to begin to send the message.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I have an iPad 1st generation.

    Hello,
The problem you are facing is a common issue among all the iOS devices. Apple already know this bug and working on the repair, which will be released in iOS 7.1 update in March. You can try to reset your iPad and will solve your problem.
    Hope this helps,

  • I cant find my pdf/ibooks on computer after backing up my iPad (they are on my iPad).   Also, I'm having issues with my Ipad turning off about every 2 minutes so I want to restore it.  Dont want to lose my files from my iPad.

Actually I have 2 problems:  I cant find my pdf/ibooks on computer after backing up my iPad (they are on my iPad).  I looked under Ipad, I Books, PDFs, and it doesn't show them on the computer. How do I manually transfer these files?
Also, I'm having issues with my Ipad turning off about every 2 minutes, and I want to restore it.  I want to make sure all of the files are backed up before I restore.  My trouble started when I was trying to update my IPad but it was taking too long (internet was scetchy) so I powered off...now Im having problems.  I haven't tried to update again since this problem. Any suggestions?  Should I restore? Should I update to 7.0.6?  (currently 7.0.3).

  • My iPod touch 4th generation turns off by itself. How can I fix this?

My iPod Touch 4th generation turns off my itself. How can I fix this? This is not the first time this has happened. I usually hold down the home button and the power button at the same time for a few seconds and it'll turn back on but this time that won't work. What should I do?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...
If that does not help... See Here:
