IPad turns on itself and turns on WiFi after both shut down especially during the night

This happens to all my Apple devices, 3 months new MacBookPro, iPad mini, and iPhone. I shut things down when I am not using it, and I turn my phone off too. But, in the past couple of months, there are many times when I go to use my devices, especially the MacBookPro and iPad, they are turned on who knows when and how, remotely by someone or backdoor, and hooked on this website via WiFi: mzstatic.com.
Does Apple secretly collect user data? Is there back door preplanted into the system?
How can the devices turn them selves on after being completely shut down? and turns the WiFi on (I turn the WiFi off from the settings panel, not just the top tool bar), and hook themselves to this specific site? My security software shows this site belongs to Apple.
Please explain how this could happen again and again, no matter how completely you shut them down? Why it only happens when I am not using it,especially during the nights when I am sleeping?

Is your battery dead or alive?
If the battery is dead, we must find out if it is:
1. Charger problem
2. Cable problem
3. Docking port problem
4. Wall socket problem

iPad turned into blue screen then shut down how to fix I cannot play games..

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, restore your iPad using iTunes or iCloud >  iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

    Hello christine valentina,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If the failed installation of Java is preventing your computer from shutting down normally, then I'd like you to please first try to force quit the unresponsive installer.

  • Anytime I try to click and drag a placed image, Illustrator shuts down. What the hell is going on?

This has happened to me about four or five times now since I've been using Adobe Illustrator. I place a file, I try to click and drag, Illustrator "stops working" for a brief moment, and thein I get the "Illustrator has quit unexpectedly" dialog box. I've tried moving the preferences folder, renaming it, delieting it, restarting, uninstalling, and updating. So far the only thing that has ever worked is for me to move to a different laptop or create a new profile on my mac book. Somebody, anybody, I seriously need some help.

    SP,
Just to make sure: are all the faces of both the Verdana and Tahoma fonts installed and enabled?

  • USB external HD does not turn off after system shut down

This is not a new issue in Leopard. I had this issue also in Tiger but I never bothered to ask whether there may be a solution to this issue.
I have firewire as well as USB HDs attached to my iMac. If I put my computer to sleep both the firewire and the USB HDs turn themselves off. The HDs come back to live after I reawake the Mac. But if I turn off the iMac then only the firewire HDs turn themselves off. The USB HDs remain turned on.
Is there a setting somewhere that can be changed so that the USB external HDs turn themselves off after system shut down?

Since the issue is not a Leopard issue, and maybe not even a Tiger issue, you might check with the drive manufacturer for some assistance.
Does the drive turn off when you eject it and then pull out the USB plug? That's important.

  • How do you turn Magic Trackpad off when shutting down?

    Hi folks--
I just got a Magic Trackpad and I am learning to use it on a Mac Mini 2.0 Mid 2007, My question is; how does one turn it off, as I shut down my computer every night. I have seen that I could turn "off" Bluetooth before shutting down. I have tried the on/off switch on the Trackpad, but it seems to always stay On. Does it matter? I am concerned about battery life.

On the right side of your track pad is the switch. When you press and release the switch it will turn on, to turn off, press and hold the button until the green light goes out then release.
If you use rechargeable batteries you can just let the track pad go into sleep mode which is what I do. With Alkaline I would turn it off and make sure to take them out if you don't plan to use the track pad for an extended period. Alkaline batteries are prone to leaking once fully discharged.

Hey (: I have the new iPad and I want to ask what is "healthier" for the battery : turn the device off in the night or keep it on during the night ? Thank you !

    BTW, statements like
"Use the device until the battery has drained to the point of self-shutdown. Basically, use it until it turns itself off."
in articles like the one at http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/ are complete BS and if you do follow their "advice", your battery life will be severely hampered. Particularly if you also follow one of the comments: "Step One.One: Leave the device for 5+ hours before start charging. This will fully drain the battery." Well, the guy that advised the latter certanly doesn't know anyhting about lithium batteries and the damage deep discharging does to them.
Again, what the article (and the above-cited comment) advices is complete b*llsh*t and noone should really do this.

  • My Mac turns itself on during the night?!

I've noticed that my MBP seems to turn itself on during the night - I think around 1am. I've looked in the Energy Saver Schedule and there's nothing set up for it to come on.
I'm a little confused as to what may be causing this. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Do you have eyeTV on your Mac? This is what I've found to be the cause of my Mac turning itself on at 1am every morning.
If so, does your Mac turn itself on at a set time every day? If so, check what time that is in the Console. You'll need this so you can manually set your clock in order to test it all out.
I then decided to delete all preferences with elgato in the name in both my Mac prefs and User prefs (make sure you have your eyeTV serial number as you'll need to enter this when you next start up eyeTV.
Okay, then start up eyeTV and go through the whole process - just make sure you uncheck things that will be automatic i.e. channel listings etc.
Then quit eyeTV and set your computer clock to just around 40 seconds before it turns your Mac on and then put it to sleep - if it doesn't wake up then great - if it does then you'll need to delete the elgato prefs from just your User prefs and start up eyeTv again - go into the prefs of the program and uncheck anything that appears automatic i.e. automatically check for updates etc
Hopefully this'll work as it's worked for me - a bit of a pain but a least I no longer get woken up with the famous Mac BOOOONNNGGGG

  • 15" i7 Macbook Pro from early 2011.takes the mac laptop two or three tries to boot successfully. It would turn on, show gray screen, shut down, turn on again, show gray screen, shutdown, and then turn on, show gray screen, before it can finally get

    Hello All,
I have a 15" i7 Macbook Pro from early 2011. The past few weeks, it has been getting increasingly difficult to get on my computer. It takes the mac laptop two or three tries to boot successfully. It would turn on, show gray screen, shut down, turn on again, show gray screen, shutdown, and then turn on, show gray screen, before it can finally get to the dark gray log-in screen. Even when I finally get logged in to start working, thinking it would be okay now, it shuts down randomly.
I've ruled out the possibility of a software problem because I've just done a clean re-install of Mac OS X Mavericks on my computer just yesterday.
I did upgrade the RAM recently, about a month and a half ago, from 4GB to 16GB, I went to the apple store four days after that upgrade to have them do a hardware test, and clean the inside of my laptop, which helped with previous heat issues. When they did the hardware test, the hardware was all registered as fine from their system.
I've tried resetting the SMC, PRAM, and doing the internet recovery hardware test, but to no avail. I thought I could at least find out what parts needed to be replaced from the hardware test but it seems that when the hardware test is almost finished, the computer just shuts down, So I am unable to see the results.
My computer is also having battery issues, under battery condition, it says "replace now," parts have been ordered, waiting for arrival. But if the battery health is low, it should still boot up fine, it would just hold a significantly less charge.
Could this be a hard drive issue?
Has anyone had similar symptoms and how was it resolved?
Does anyone know what I can do to alleviate this issue?
I haven't had time to take it to Apple because I'm currently taking a 21 credit semester academically. I'm an art and design student so my computer is basically the bane of my existence. Help! Any constructive advice is welcomed!
Thank you so much for your input!
    -Christina C.

  • IPad screen locks itself and goes black when nudged? very frustrating

Hi, my IPad is driving me nuts! Can anyone help please?
I can be in the middle of anything ( games, apps, typing, banking, etc. etc.) and with the slightest movement or nudge - the screen locks itself and goes black??
I then have to press the home button, slide to unlock it - and it opens back up to exactly where I was.
This happens constantly, and is so frustrating!

Is there a case or screen protector that is possibly interfering with the proximity sensor (detects if the phone is near your face, allows the keypad/screen to be visible when the phone is away from your face)

  • My iPhone 4 has just shut down.  Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge.  Any suggestions

my iPhone 4 has just shut down.  Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge.  Any suggestions?  I did download a ringtone app and went on to iTunes to sync!.

Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

  • I recently updated a app on my iPad 2.it asked me to turn on an off my iPad so I did .now every time I turn it on the apple logo appears then it automatically shuts down an do the same untill the battery's gone ?

You probably need to restore your iPad now. Pay attention to the last part of this kb article where it explains about using recovery mode. You may need to restore the iPad using that method.

  • My computer turns on but then immediately shuts down.

It seems my computer turned itself off in the middle of the night. This morning, when I tried turning it on, it wouldn't leave the white initial screen with the apple logo and the waiting sign so I manually shut it down. I waited a couple of minutes before doing so. Then I turned it back on again and the same thing happened. The third time I turned it on, the white screen appeared and then it shut down on its own! Next time I did the same thing and it took less time before shutting down on its own.
My computer is connected to the energy source. It's not connected directly to the wall, there is a no-break with a very weak battery and that's connected to the power source.
My concern is that there was very little memory left on my computer and I was downloading more movies.
It the problem coming from my computer or is it the energy source?

Try connecting the plug directly to an outlet. That should determine whether it is the energy source or not.
If the same, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
