IPad - Unable to complete cellular data setup, cannot input phone number.

Hi,
I purchased my iPad two days ago, it's been brilliant excluding the fact I can't activate my 02 micro-sim. When I'm obliged to input my details e.g. name, telephone and registration details, I can do so, excluding my telephone number as such I cannot complete the registration process.
I've tried copying/pasting in the data, doing a hard reset and restoring the device entirely. I'm running iOS 4.2 beta 3, all to no avail.
Any advice?
Best,
Grant

It may be a problem with the beta, report it to the developer you are working for, or if you are the developer report it over on that site which you should have access to.
If you are neither of the above you will just have to wait until the issue is resolved.

my iphone 6 plus after updating to IOS 8.2 seems to have a problem with the touch id witch doesn't work neither in home unlock nor in app store and when i'm trying to add a new fingerprint it says ''failed unable to complete touch id setup. Please go back and try again'' . I have multiple fingerprints and none of them appear to work.

  • HT4389 no cellular data tab . cannot use internet airtel gsm , iphone 4 factory unlocked

no cellular data tab . cannot use internet airtel gsm , iphone 4 factory unlocked plz tell me how to set the apn settings

There is no need to manually set the APN settings for Airtel. The settings are already in the phone since they are a supported carrier. if it's not working, contact Aritel.
Where did you get the phone? If it was hacked to illegally unlock it or jailbroken, that might explain why it does not work.

  • IPhone 5s Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again.

Hi, I have an iPhone 5s and I recently updated to iOS 8. When I was using iOS 7.1.2 the touch ID option was gone. The only option that I have there is passcode it seems like Im only using an iPhone 5 because of that. Anyhow, I updated it to iOS 8 last September 17 and the Touch ID option is back. However, when I tried to add a fingerprint or activate touch ID, I keep on receiving "Failed, Unable to complete Touch ID Setup. Please go back and try again." I already tried several times but the issue is still the same. any response would be pretty much appreciated.
    - Many Thanks!

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Make sure the sensor is clean and dry >  Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad

  • HT5163 where do I get a SIM card tool for iPad 3?  My cellular data doesn't work now that I downloaded iOS6.  Instructions are to remove SIM card and then reinsert and it SHOULD work.

Where di I get a SIM card tool for iPad 3?  My cellular data doesn't work now tht I downloaded iOS6.1.  Instructions tell me to remove SIM card and then return.  Will that work? Verizon tells me it's an Apple issue.

I did that but was intimidated.  With your adivce I was more aggressive and it popped open. And I removed and replaced.  It works.  Thanks!

Your ipad has a cellular access number in settings under cellular data.
it is not a phone, and that number can't be used to phone calls.

The messages you send to phone numbers are known as SMS. The iPad cannot send those. Only iMessages through email addresses.

  • Unable to turn cellular data on for apps

    I'm running a 32GB iPhone 5C on 7.1.2 on Verizon.
before the last update I had gone over on my data allotment and then went into the cellular data settings and turned off the cellular data for almost every app I could. Some of these included the music app, podcast app, angry birds, google drive and documents, and just any app that I don't need sucking off my cellular data allotment.
well the 7.1.2 software update changed the settings (I don't know why Apple changes these things when there's no reason to, it's getting frustrating having to learn how to use my phone after each update) and you can no longer go into cellular data and flip the switch for all the apps on one single page. So now I have apps like the Podcasts and Google Apps that I open, am alerted the cellular data is turned off for them but when I click settings (the other option is just a confirmation of the message receipt) it takes me to a section in the settings that is no longer listing all my apps with the cellular data switch.
so my problem is that I've turned off cellular data, updated
software that for no reason neutered my ability to turn it on/off for individual apps, with no way to turn the cellular data back on for those apps. I can't imagine why Apple would do this, unless app developers were complaining to Apple that people were
turning cellular data off to avoid advertisements.
I have reset network settings, scoured the settings menu for options, tried most things suggested for other problems and still nothing. And I'm not going to reset my phone because as soon as I load my backup I'll be in the same boat. Oh I've also tried uninstalling and redownloading the apps as well.
and on a side note whoever put the . Button next to the space bar during certain keypad operations is an a hole because most of the searches I do look like this:
    "What is the distance.to.the.moon"

so now I've done everything from resetting settings, resetting network settings, turning wifi off, turning phone in and off, messing with cellular data and background app refresh as well as notifications.
trying to use an app that has no cellular data while wifi is
off does not force the app to show up under Settings > Cellular Data.
it appears as though a lot of people are having this problem and sometimes the above mentioned things work and sometimes they don't. It looks like having Cellular Data turned off for
    certain apps during an iO
God **** it now I have to write things in the Notes app and copy/paste them here because it's randomly not inputting my text and when I start typing it says "GGo" instead of Go, double typing the first letter. Why the **** doesn't Apple have a mobile app/setup of this?
Anyway it looks like if you have Cellular Data turned off for an app and do an iOS update it causes this bug. Sometimes the things above work, sometimes not. This is insanely frustrating.

    6. Errors will occurs
    7. From here onwards, above errors will occurs when Switching from Wifi to 3G regardless whether you turn off and on wifi/3G

How to prevent: Never ever use the switch. Let IPad decide to switch on/off cellular data network.

  • Ipad not subscribed to cellular data

After updating to iOS 6 my iPad 3 doesn't work anymore with 3G, it just says not subscribed to cellular data or something like that. It is in the right operator and shows even the signal levels for mobile network, I have resetted the network settings, turned the device off/on, no help or luck, still not working.

I have this exact problem on an iPhone 4S.  The exact message is:
Could not activate mobile data network.
You are not subscribed to a mobile data service
I'm on the phone to AppleCare as I type, waiting for a Tier 2.  The Tier 1 advisor had me reset network settings, to no effect, as you've already found yourself:
    Settings>General>Mobile Data>Mobile Data Network>Reset Settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
His final advice, before I asked to be put through to a Tier 2 was to call my carrier (they're currently closed) and to perform a full restore.  The latter reminds me so much of the typical response back in Windows® XP days that I felt a little bit sick.
I'll post back here if Tier 2 come up with something better.  Please post the solution if you find it yourself.

  • My Ipad wont remember my cellular data account Information

My cellular data account keeps saying my password is invalid. So I have to restore IPad 2 back to factory settings and reset password. But next time I try to log in, same thing. Information invalid. Help ! Why does this keep happening?

I had the same issue.  According to my 3G provider (Verizon), you don't have to restore your iPad to factory settings, only your cellular password.  Go to Settings -> Cellular Data -> View Account.  When the window loads, tap Forgot Password and follow the instructions to reset your password.  This worked for me.

    1. I do not know if this will help you or not. In researching this issue with my wife's iPhone 5c 8GB, the most common answer you will get is to adjust this or that setting, and disable this or that App. These at best are only a band-aide solution at all. The best reply I got was from a Verizon Rep that stated "By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress, or information is being back-up wirelessly and the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data if it is left on". Afterwards, I discovered the exact same information here on the Apple Support Forum to support this statement.
    2. Later onward, I read that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, it will prevent it from going dormant. In which case, this will prevent the iPhone from turning off the WiFi, and keep it connected to the WiFi. So far, this has help the most in controlling the amount of data usage being used, by my wife's iPhone.
    3. Now about looking at the detailed usage summary online, you can not go by it to see the exalt date/time stamp of the data usage. Because, by design the cell towers will collect and store certain data usage for up to a six-hours period. After the six-hour period, then the cell towers will release the stored data usage to the company's servers. And at that time, the collected data usage will be recorded on your detailed usage summary online. For a long time, I brainwork that I had caught Verizon with their hand in the cookie jar for say. Because I knew that we were not using data usage at these odd-ball hours of the night or day. Yet, now I have learn that this is just not the case.

Since I have Siri on my iPad when the location device is turned on, can I use my cellular data from my iPhone 4 to use Siri for driving directions?

    I think you can.
I did it when I bought my iPhone 3Gs. If you have a copy of your iPod it should work.
