Ipad unplugged during restore

Hello my ipad mini got unplugged during a restore and now it is stuck on an apple logo with a bar underneath,i tried to restore it but it says could not restore because an error occured what can i do?

Try forcing the iPad into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If that still doesn't work, try DFU mode (the instructions mention iPhone but are the same for an iPad):

  • IPhone unplugged during Restore Process, PLEASE HELP Restore!

    Hi guys,
I was Restoring my original iPhone through iTunes and during this process my brother unplugged
    the iphone from iTunes.
Now, I've been trying to restore again but the iTunes has prompted a little window that says
"Waiting for iPhone". I left it plugged in all night with iTunes on my Mac but it's stuck on that same
    message.
Can someone please help me with this issue?
    Thanks so much,
    Z

Try placing your iPhone in recovery mode.
Turn off your iPhone by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider. If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again.
Once it's turned off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac.Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a dock cable pointing to the iTunes icon. iPhones running older software will display a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes". You can now release the Home button.
Open iTunes (if it's not already open) and you will be told that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode". Click "OK" and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. Click restore.

  • IPad hangs during restore

I am trying to restore my iPad, but it keeps hanging at the last of the install. I have tried starting over several times with the same result. HELP!!!!!

    Hi,
Make sure you are using the cable that came with your iPad that connects to your computer, and try a different USB port.
Try charging the battery to 100%, then try to restore again.

  • TS4036 If Iphone is unplugged during restore can you retrieve lost data?

While I was updating my iphone with the cloud my daughter unplugged my phone to try to use it. Now I was not able to restore any of my pictures or work apps that I had. Is there any way to retrieve these things???..... Especially the pictures?

Only possibility that could work, and it's probably too late for you now.
Immediately turn off Wi-Fi & Cellular Data on the Phone.  Activate Airplane Mode.
Remove SIM card if it has one.
Now, do a backup of the device to iTunes.  Once that has been secured, then put back in your SIM card, and turn Airplane Mode off, turn Cellular Data & Wi-FI back on.
If you did it in time, then the device will still wipe clean, but you've got a backup saved to iTunes for you to restore back from.

    Hi @imobl,
You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.

  • IPad set to restore during iOS 6.1.3 update

I have a student iPad that while trying to update the iOS to 6.1.3, the iPad went into restore mode. Is there anything I can do for this iPad other than restoring and losing all the student's data (we are not on iCloud because the stduent is younger than 13 and cannot have a personal Apple ID). Any help would be appreciated.

There is nothing that you can do now except to restore the device. The iPad will not work until you restore the iOS. Don't your students backup? I would assume that iPads being used in the classroom would be backed up on a regular basis. If they do backup, you can restore the iOS, then restore from the student backup and either sync his content back to the iPad if you are using iTunes, or download it again in the various purchased tabs of the iStores on the iPad.

  • I got locked out from my iPad mini during setup, keep ask me for passcode but I didn't set one up.  Reboot unsuccessful, iTune won't let me connect because I didn't enter my passcode. How to fix this?

I got locked out from my iPad mini during my initial setup.  Keep ask me for passcode but I haven't setup one.  Reboot and restart didn't solve the problem, tried connect to iTunes but it won't let me because it requires the passcode.  Tried my Exchanged password, Apple ID password and my iPhone passcode but none work.  Any idea to resolve this?

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.

  • Unplugging during sync

so if my little bar in itunes for backup gets stuck and i cancel the sync through my ipod the loading thing keeps going. I was told unplugging my ipod without pressing eject is bad for my ipod is that true?

It is not good and it complicates getting the iPod operational. Typically if you unplug during syncing you need to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod.
