IPAD USELESS after IOS8 and IOS8.1 Made WORSE

Has anyone found a way to get your IPad 2 (mine is Retina, WI-FI and Cellular, with 65GB) to work with IOS 8? or the even worse 8.1? Better yet, has anyone figured out how to go back to IOS7?
We have 10 Apple devices in our family and 40 at our business. My IPad (Retina-4G and 64GB) was my FAVORITE go-to device.
IOS 8 and 8.1 system "Updates" have turned into the most frustrating boat anchor imaginable!! It froze 4 times trying to submit feedback so I actually go my old Dell Windows out and updated it (have not used it in 6 months before this) so I could submit this "Feedback"
APPLE must "Allow" us to go back to IOS7 or lose this, and probably many more customers. This is reprehensible.
PS The IPAD Support (APPLE) Website (which used to be a model of professionalism, does not even allow me to choose IOS 8.1 - sad!)

The iPad 2 is not Retina that didn't happen until iPad 4 generation Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you will not lose any data But you may need to do this more than once the iPad 2 is a it under powered to run iOS 8.1 Thats is why problems are there The iPad Air the first one NOT the new one as £120.00 off The price in England. Slow wifi on iPad Air after converting to iOS8

I am experiencing painfully slow wifi response on my iPad Air after converting to iOS8. I tried disabling the WiFi Networking setting under System Services and even did a "Reset Network Settings". All to no avail.

I changed the DNS settings on the iPad Air Wi-Fi settings to Google DNS 8.8.8.8
It helped but this morning I've noticed Safari webpage not opening...

If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

Do you have a backup of the device before you restored it? If you have a backup, try to restore the device from that backup.
If you don't, I doubt that there's anything anyone here can do for you. Seems as though your save game, (despite being an "online" game) was wiped out with the restore. I'd say the vast majority of online games still do keep your save data on the device and NOT in "the cloud".
In this case, a backup of the device would have helped you out...it's always wise to backup your device before proceeding with a restore, especially if you plan to restore the device as new.

Hi, I think my ITunes is corrupt and may need to be reinstalled? Changes made on the Mac in Itunes to playlist do not sync to either our 5 or 4S. other issues in Itunes I've noticed is that adding songs to playlists only works if I drag them...using the drop-down menu and 'add to' doesn't make the change occur. Any suggestions?

How is your iPod configured to sync with your iTunes library? Automatically or manually? In other words, what options do you have enabled from under the iPod's Music and Summary tabs?

You would think I would learn my lesson buying apple products so very fed up with them brand new ipad worked ok for a week downloaded ios6 and its so rubbish I have far to many complaints to list all it seems fit for is the bin so angry with myself for falling for yet another one .

If you are unhappy with the iPad, return it. This is a forum for technical help for users that want help and not for complaints. Do yourself a favor - and those of us that want help and/or offer it willingly - if you dont want help with the iPad and you are fed up - return your iPad and move on.

Problems after updating to iOS8

I would like to point out some problems on my iPad and iPad mini after updating to iOS8.
First one is a DISAPPEARING CURSOR when typing.
Example: touch Safari - select Google - touch the search bar - keyboard appears....
               After typing in the first letter THE CURSOR DISAPPEARS ( including keyboard ).
               This only happens after the first letter, because after touching the bar again it's all back to normal.
Second problem are the software updates.
Example: notification appears by the Settings wheel - touch Settings - update available - touch to download....
               The "Terms and conditions" page appears. Touch "I Agree" expecting that the T & C will disappear
               and the download will start.... NO, THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STAY ON !
               Therefore the only way ( i found ) is to sync with the iMac and update that way.
Following the suggestions of an Apple rep. ( in store ) i have tried a RESET but this did not solve the problem.
The second try was a RESTORE ( when in sync with the iMac ) and set up as a new ipad ( not from backup ),
but even this did not cure the problem.
All suggestions greatly appreciated,

Thanks for the reply, but i don't think this will solve the problem.
Here is some more detail: - it happened at the same time ( when updating to iOS8 ) on the iPad and the iPad mini.
                                       - i believe this shows that is definitely the updated OS that causes the problem.
Also there are more "glitches" as well, like unable to update apps using wifi.
When the notification appears on the App Store logo, and i check which apps need updating, followed by "update all",
the small circle keeps turning ( the square does not appear in the middle)... signing in or not doesn't make any difference.
When i sync with the iMac, it shows that the apps are updating but the notification remains. The only way i managed to
clear that is to delete the app and reinstall it again. Very frustrating.... All this never happened with iOS7.
At this time, the iPad has no apps, no photos, no videos... just as when it was new, following the restore, but i still get
the disappearing cursor on Safari ! Amazing !

I have captured the install log. Right now I don't have the Sever.app and related files in the system. But log shows the server is running or installed today. I have seen MiniLauncher tag (don't know what it is). And if the server is running, it is not appearing in the Activity log.

After upgrading to ios8 my iPad and iPhone could not sign in to iCloud. The error was either 'server error' or verification failed. I reset the password and verified I could log in via my Mac Mini and Macbook Air but I still get the error on my two iPads and iPhone that verification failed.

It worked fine in iOS7, it still works fine on an older iPhone 4 running 7 and an iPad Air also running 7. Also my Macs, an old MacPro 10.7.5 and a MacBook Air 10.9.5 work great, autofilling every time.

All the password info is still there under Saved Passwords.
I have tried turning Names and passwords off and on but no luck

I can get autofill to work but it will only remember my last username and password used for the site rather then letting me start typing a username and then suggesting one and its password being automatically filled in if I hit space while the suggested username was showing or when i finished typing the username (how it worked in iOS 7). I'm having zero issues using iCloud keychain on my MacBook pro running Yosemite so I'm not sure if apple accidentally removed this functionality or if there is something I can do to get it back? I have keychain turned on as well as autofill passwords and when I go into the settings I can see all the accounts and passwords for this particular site so I know they're saved..very odd behavior. If no fix I'll just start adding them all to one password but this seems cumbersome considering safari has this feature built in.

Here is the info I found on error 3194:
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
