Ipad using home wifi got disconected

I have a Ipad IOS 4.3.5 (8L1) and it has worked in WIFI without any problem for 7 months.
I have a DLINK router with WEP password.
I have full WIFI signal, but more often and randomly Safari and Mail do not work: not able to connect to internet.
Sometimes with Safari is not able to show image, but just a "?".
I tried increasing brightness, disconecting from DLINK, restart the router, restart Ipad....but nothing.
PC and Itouch are working with no problem in WIFI.
Just tried to check my mails: Itouch is working, Ipad not.
Please, help me.....

The first time you set up the iPad you must do it by connecting the iPad to a computer, which needs to be running the latest version of iTunes, using the provided USB cable that came with it.  It cannot be done wirelessly initially.

  • Can't Open Some App using home wifi network, must use 3g to do it

My iPhone is 5s. Just like the title said, whenever my iPhone / iPad connected to wifi I can't connect to some games like Puzzle and Dragon even though I can browse using safari, using fb / twitter / instagram just fine. I keep getting connection error (in game of course) whenever I open that game (not only that game actually). Whenever I open the game, I can get myself automatically logged into gamecenter, but the can't connect to the game itself.
I've tried changing the dns from the default 192.168.1.1 to google's and resetting the cache (airplane mode -> on -> off). But to no avail.
Have tried to open the game on my father's iPhone and iPad, and my sister iPhone too. I suspect my problem is my wifi configuration isn't compatible to ios(?).
Sometimes I experience updating app problem too on home wifi network, I can browse app store but can't update any app.
While my phone can't, my friend's android can play the game just fine using my home's wifi network.
    Please help me fix this.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, when you are going to turn off or restart your Mac, you will see a box called "Reopen windows when logging back in" in the shutdown or restart window. Untick this box and see if the App Store opens automatically in the next startup.
If it starts, open System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items, and see if the App Store shows up. If so, remove it from this list

  • HT204365 How to transfer PDF in iBooks from iPhone to iPad using only wifi

    Hi
I want to transfer PDFs currently present in iBooks of my iPhone to iPad without connecting both of them to iTunes . Is there any solution to transfer those files using only wifi network?
    Many thanks in advance
    -prism

You will most likely be able to do that kind of stuff with the upcoming iOS 5, releasing october 12th.
put your photos / videos on the cloud, access them on your other devices..
You can also backup your phone.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Safari Browsing using home WiFi

Browsing on the iPhone using my home WiFi connection is significantly slower than browsing through my PC.
Any idea why? I've tried various router changes but none seem to have improved the browsing speed (e.g. disabled security, etc.)
I would have expected pages to load as quick on the iPhone as they would on the PC.

You should be seeing it run 20% slower at the most. As mentioned, iPhone's Safari runs very fast for a mobile device.
It's also a good idea to take advantage of sites made for mobile. http://google.com/m is a good one to use for search. Go to the url, go to Settings, set for Format Web Pages for Your Phone and save. This uses a proxy server to strip out "unnecessary" code and content and modify the page for the small screen for all searches. Many big sites offer their own mobile versions. These usually have "mobile." before the domain or "/mobile" after it. There is also the .mobi domain specifically for mobile devices. If you use these where they are in place and they work to your liking, your browsing speed on your iPhone will be much faster than it is on your desktop.

  • Has anyone seen their iPads using your wifi non-stop, even if you are not using it, even when it's closed with the smart cover?

Lately my internet usage is up to the roof. I though somebody was hacking my wireless router so I made it super safe with lots of restrictions.
But that didn't stop the download of stuff over my wireless network. When I monitor who or what is using my wirelss, only my iPad was on, so, the moment I turn the wifi off on my ipad, the download stop. Turn it back on, it goes like crazy sucking up data off my wireless router for no reason. There is no indicator that the iPad is using the wireless yet, it is my iPad downloading things that I can't even seen, it does even with smart cover on!!!!. It's been over 50GB in only three days. I don't even have that amount of data on iCloud.  This began a few days later after I upgraded my iOS to 6. But also, I'm thinking it could be an app that I installed. Or is it possible someone can use my iPad as a middle point to access my router and steal my internet. I have restored the OS on the iPad and it keeps doing it. Anyone has experienced something similar?

I'm going to guess that your battery life is also not so hot.  What I suspect is happening is thatbthe pad is locked into an update loop with I cloud.  As an example, if you have addresses that do not agree, the cloud back up will continue to try and correct itself, using both battery and wifi ( or cell).   It may also be an app trying to uzpdate itself.
To troubleshot, try turning thigs off.  If you are using the cloud, turn off all syncing and see it the problem stops.  Then turn them back on, one by one, until you find the culprit.  If it is an app, it may be harder to find, but the steps are the same.  Turn off all notifications, and uninstall anything you added around the time the problem started.
A frequent culprit is magazine, comic, and newspaper subscriptions, that are constantly trying to update themselves.
Keep looking, you will find it.

  • Using home wifi to make phone calls

Please someone - I have been reading info until I can't see! Will someone please give me some step by step instructions as to how to set up a C6 using a SIP client? I've seen almost every phone discussed but the C series. Thanks

You are probably using the correct password. If you are using a shorter password than what is allowed you can suffer the problems of incompatible implementations of WEP. If you are using WEP you should be using 128 bit WEP. That is stronger than 64 bit WEP but not very strong. The maximum length password for 128 bit WEP is 13 ASCII (normal human) characters (which is 26 hexadecimal characters). If your WEP password is not that long, you should change the WEP password at the AirPort Express (AX) so that it is that long.

  • New ipad air not connect to my home wifi (it is working). switched on select country, language and invited to select wifi via password - join lights up - 'joining' - message can't join / dismiss

    New ipad air
    home wifi working
Switch on - select langauge / country
    home wifi on list
password in - Join illuminates - seems to be connecting then - message - 'cant connect - dismiss'
I have turned internet connection off + on no difference
    Can any one help?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • My ipad mini has stopped connecting to my home wifi. Have just got an iphone today and that connects OK and the house laptop still connects. Any suggestions to gt the ipad connected again

Have had an ipad mini for 6 months and it has been connecting perfectly to the home wifi but it has just stopped connecting this evening and all other devices seem to be OK.
Just got a new iphone today and wonder if that has had an effect but that is connecting OK as is my laptop.
    Any help would be appreciated

Problem was fixed by rebooting the ipadmini using on/off switch on the side of the ipad
Got the advice from a related previous discussion

  • HT3819 can i use home sharing to access my itunes library on my home pc whilst using 3g or another wifi source say whilst abroad or on holiday using my ipad?

    as above really...
i have itunes on my pc at home. can i use my ipad when on holiday to listen to my tunes from my pc without having to have them downloaded or synced onto the ipad using up memory? i know i can do it at home over my wfi network but what about if using another wifi network on holiday for example in a rented cottage...

Home Sharing is only for PCs that are connected in the same network

  • Just bought an iPad 2 and plugged it in to my home PC and downloaded apps using my wife's iTunes account.  I then set up my own iTunes account on my  office PC, and none of the apps I downloaded in the new account appear on my iPad.

I just bought an iPad 2 - I plugged it in to my home PC and downloaded a couple of apps using my wife's iTunes account.  Since I bought the device for work, I then set up my own iTunes account on my office PC.  The problem I am having is that none of the apps I downloaded in the new account appear on my iPad.  I can see them on screen #2 in iTunes and I know how to swipe to get to that screen.
I've tried everything mentioned - I authorized my office computer (but not my home one - could this be the problem?).  I turned on home network file sharing.  Checked to make sure parental controls are off.  I'm not sure what to do next.

When you installed iTunes on your work computer, then connected your iPad to that computer, it wiped what was on the iPad, then put the iTunes library (nothing) from the work computer onto the iPad. You can try copying the iTunes folder from your home computer over to your work computer, but since the apps were bought with a different account, they may not load or update properly.

My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked briefly as a temporary fix but not anymore

    You could try this
Temporarily disable security on your home network
    See if the iPad connects
If it does then reset the security - with the same or different password

  • I used to send photos from my Lumix Tz-40 camera directly to my iPad using the cameras WIFI. Since I installed IOS7 the connection no longer works. Anyone got any ideas. I have already installed the latest version of Panasonic's Image App (1.7.1)

I used to send photos from my Lumix Tz-40 camera directly to my iPad using the camera's WIFI. It was all working well until I installed IOS7.  The connection no longer works. The camera still keeps the iPad in its connection history. The camera's wifi network still appears when I select a WiFi network from the iPad but the Wifi status icon never appears on the iPad. So the connection is never made.
Anyone got any ideas. I have already installed the latest version of Panasonic's Image App (1.7.1)

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan

You can connect your iPhone to your compter and update using iTunes or on Wi-Fi directly on the device.
Just my two cents, but I found it easier to update via iTunes on my computer.
