IPad VGA adapter, picture is dull & pink connected to my projector

I'm having a problem with my VGA connector, and I desperately need a fresh point of view in this issue.
When I connect my iPad to my projector, the picture has a dull reddish, pinkish hue to it. This is true for everything- video app, Netflix, slideshows, etc.
connection path:
IPad -> Dock/VGA plug -> VGA cable -> VGA to DVI-A adapter -> Projector DVI-I input (both DVI-A and D)
When I remove my projector and DVI-I adapter from the equation, and plug the VGA cable into a computer monitor, everything looks great. Also, I've tried replacing my iPad in the equation with other computers that have a VGA output, and they all work with the DVI-A adapter and the projector.
So far, my assumption was that something was going on with the iPad and the DVI-A adapter, but I've tried three different adapters, and I get the same results.
I'm completely stumped. Any ideas?

Late reply I know, but I was googling for iPhone pink VGA and landed here. I was curious if I was the only one. I had a chance to try an iPhone and VGA adapter with a number of displays and I have to say.... 16:9 VGA output on the iPhone blows chunks.
On a HP 23" display, it was totally confused about the resolution (it thought it was 1152*720) and tried to display it inset in a 1920*1080 display.... shifted badly to the right.
A Sony XBR LCD TV displayed it shifted badly up and to the left. Had to max out all video position controls to get it back to the middle.
A TV-One Scaler displayed everything in a dull pink, but at was centered properly on the display.
The only one that got it right was a Dell 4:3 LCD display. However the phone was putting out 1024*768, not 1280*720.
I don't think 16:9 output on the iPhone 4 was tested much.... if at all.

  • I want to use multiple iPads as external monitors from a PC using the iPad VGA adapter (wired)

I want to send a VGA signal to a couple of iPads using them as monitors. I currently use a pair of regular 13" VGA 1024x768 lcd monitors looping thru an LCD projector displaying the same signal sent to the projector.
I want to use the iPad VGA adapter and WIRE them in just like a convention LCD monitor. Yes there are apps like air display and others but they don't allow cloning and have latency issues and must be networked. I need an app to use the VGA adapter and actually wire them in using a VGA signal from my existing VGA distrubution amp.
The size of the iPad is perfect for my application however I cannot find an app to let me send a signal into the iPad via VGA adapter.
    Any ideas?

Can I use the VGA adapter to show keynote slide shows on a projector?

iPad 1 does not do screen mirroring like the iPad 2.
Open the app you want to output and see if it works.

  • IPad VGA Adapter

    Hello All,
I have a problem with connecting iPad with my Philips TV (42PFL5405H/12) using VGA connector (Apple VGA Adapter).
Unfortunately, quality of picture on TV is not good as you can see on the pictures: https://picasaweb.google.com/WojtekK...gCMvRuJeco812#
From Philips support page I received solution: "Please check the output format of your iPad. It must be set to RGB instead of YPbPr."
Thank you for any suggestion how I can change output format of my VGA Adapter to RGB.
    Regards,
    Wojtek

  • HT4623 all i have on my ipad is a picture of a usb connecting to itunes...what do i do now

I went to update my ipad with latest upgrade software that it said was available.  I hit install......ipad went through a few things.  Now there is a picture on my ipad of a usb plug plugging into itunes.  I have the latest itunes software.  What do I do now?

Are you using iTunes 11? You really need to post back with details in situations like this. We don't know what you are doing. You have to tell us step by step what you did so we don't have to keep asking questions.
If you followed my instructions - if you see the sidebar but do not see you iPad under the devices heading - you will not see the summary button - because you have to click on your iPads name before that button appears at the top of the iTunes window.
This explains setting up syncing with iTunes 11 for windows.

I realize that it won't do you any good right now, but it explains how you go about using iTunes. I want to make sure that you are following all of the steps and if you still do not see your iPad you can take the next step using recovery mode. That is explained here.

  • VGA Adapter for iPad

Help. I built a photo presentation on my iPad using the Keynote app. yesterday I stopped into the Apple store and picked up a VGA Adapter so I could view the presentation via projector. I can't seem to get it to work. The projector works with my laptop, but not the iPad. Any ideas out there?

I would troubleshoot by trying out a monitor rather then the projector
then I would try using apps I know to support the adaptor like video and youtube and pictures and the likes
and see where that lead me

  • Apple VGA adapter for iPhone/iPad flakey

I have the Apple iPhone/iPad vga adapter through the 30 pin dock connector.
Works fine on my my iPad v3.2
Works fine on my wife's iPhone 4 v4.1
Complains incompatible device on my iPhone 4 v4.1
No amount of reboots fix the problem, it appears that one of the two iPhone 4's won't work with the VGA adapter.
Anyone else seen this or have a work around to make an Apple device work with an Apple adapter?
    Thanks

  • IPad 1 -  VGA adapter

I have the iPad 1 and would like to hook it up to a projector to view a ppt presention.  WIll the apple VGA adapter support this?

I have since confirmed that my iPad is sending video to the VGA Adapter as I have successfully connected an NEC MultiSync monitor to the output and it is displaying video.
Can anyone tell me what refresh rate that the iPad is using when output is from the iPad Dock connector to VGA Adapter? My television specs claim that it will handle
    1024x768 @ 60Hz
    1024x768 @ 70Hz
    1024x768 @ 75Hz
Yet, I'm not able to get the TV to detect the signal.
Since I believe this worked with this hardware in the past, is it possible that the output refresh could have changed?
    Thanks,
    Tom Evans

  • My ipad1 won't play movies on my tv even though it is connected via VGA adapter,

Why won't my ipad 1 play movies on my tv via the ipad VGA adapter?

Make sure you are not set to Work Offline in File menu.
There is a possibility that your connection dropped even briefly, more so if using wireless. Make sure Firefox is not set to "[v] Work Offline" in File menu just above Exit.
By default, Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 will automatically use offline mode if there is no network connection. Under certain conditions, after the connection is reestablished it may remain in offline mode without the user's knowledge. Firefox 4 and newer prevents this behavior by default. To prevent this behavior in versions 3.5 and 3.6, add an entry to the '''about:config''' options, as follows.
    * Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    * Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean preference. Name: '''network.manage-offline-status'''. Value: '''false'''

  • Mini DVI to VGA Adapter Issues

    Hey guys,
My first ever post to the forums. I just recently bought my very first apple computer. It is a 2.4 ghz Macbook 13" and bought a Mini DVI to VGA Adapter so that I can connect it to my 46" Sharp AQUOS TV. I connect my laptop with the dvi to vga adapter plus another vga cable of course and all I get on the screen is my wallpaper but I can't see any of the icons on my tv screen, nothing.
Can anyone help me on this? Does this sound like a familiar problem?
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dogan

    Hi DoDolom,
    First, welcome to Macintosh!
Secondly, it sounds to me like what's happened is that OS X has extended your desktop onto a second monitor. Plug in an external mouse and keyboard and then close the MacBook's lid. It will go to sleep. Use the external mouse/keyboard to wake it up and you should be running on just the external display.

  • HT3235 HDMI to VGA Adapter

Just checking if anyone can suggest what adapter would be suitable for HDMI to VGA Adapter, I'd love to connect two old HDMI to VGA monitor displays if possible as I have spare monitors and could use the facility.

Belkin HDMI to VGA doesn't work for me. Fliking screen on rMBP and no input signal on monitor. Connecting directly HDMI to big screen TV works fine. Connecting another source of HDMI signal, say, Dell notebook with the same Belkin HDMI to VGA adapter - works fine.
Seems like rMBP output to HDMI has not enough power to go through additional intermediate device. Shame.

  • IPad VGA Output

    Hello @all,
is there a way to enable the VGA output over the iPad VGA adapter?
    Greetings

Only way I know is to take a screenshot (home+sleep) and import the image into Keynote.

  • Using Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter -- any settings on the Macbook Air I need to change?

Going into a meeting with my Macbook Air with Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, which will be connnected to a video projector on site. Never tried this setup before. Will this just work or do I need to adjust any video settings on my Macbook Air?

    Hi glraczon.support,
It sounds like the external display you are using (projector) operates at a smaller resolution than your MacBook Pro. You may want to configure the display preferences in System Preferences for the external projector.
Here is an article that may help you with that process:

  • Can i connect ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter and can i then mirror keynote presentations

can i connect my ipad 3 to aprojector throught vga adapter to mirror keynote presentations

I don't know if there is a Dock-To-VGA Adapter in the Store, but there is a Dock-To-HDMI-Adapter.
Newer projectors have an HDMI-Input-Slot. (30$ Adapter +10$ HDMI-Cable (if it doesn't exists)
    You also could buy on top a HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter (30$ Adapter1 + 30$ Adapter2 + 10$ VGA-Cable (if it doesn't exists))
An deluxe solution would be an Apple-TV
    + HDMI-Cable
    or + HDMI-To-VGA-Adapter + VGA-Cable
now you can use AirPlay by setting up an adhoc WLAN from your iPad which the Apple TV can use.
Cause I have an Apple TV, I take that with me with the adhoc WLAN setup of my iPhone.
All settings are done, so it's only a plug in at the room where to hold that presentation. Wirelessly from my iPhone Keynote-App via AirPlay to AppleTV (Mirrow or as second screen, with seeing notes and controls on my iPhone) and from Apple TV to the projector.

  • IPad DocumentsToGo and Dock conector to VGA-Adapter

    Hi there,
I just bought an iPad two weeks ago and last week the VGA Adapter. The clear intention was to show some PowerPoint slides with the iPad using a projector. I tried using the iPad with a Samsung 23" LCD-Monitor at home before. It worked fine, unfortunately I did tried only with the picture slideshow. The next day in the office I made a complete fool out of me by trying to show my PowerPoint slides with the projector & the iPad. For that I had bought "Documents to Go" (14.99 €) and - not to mention - the VGA-adapter (29.99 €). Let's say round about 60 US$ to get humiliated in front of your boss and your colleagues. It was not really helpful to show them my last Holiday pictures, at least not the purpose of the meeting.
Is there a way to connect the iPad to a projector to show business related stuff (PowerPoint, Excel, Word & co.?) I mean, more than pictures & videos?
    Thanks in advance...
