IPad video camera has no sound

iPad video camera has no sound

Found the fix.
If the reboot doesn't fix it.
If the headphoens work find, but no external speakers.
If the double-click and page right to the software mute, doesn't show the sound knob - just the brightness
If your pop-up shows "Docking Station"
Then, the problem is very likely a dirty connector.  The iPad/iPhone/iPod connector uses a resistor value to determine if the device is connected to an external 'speaker'.  There are a range of resistances, for a range of products.  This is known as the Connector Pin 21 issue.
Take some windex on a que-tip, or perhaps a Windex paper scrub and rub it on the bottom connector port.  Somehow, "something" has gotten on those contacts, and it is pulling the voltage on pin #21 down - so that the iPad "thinks" it's connected to an external speaker - this will disable the internal speaker circuitry, as well as the internal speaker volume controls.
Do not over-saturate and short out your iPad.  Do not throw it in the sink, do not use the kitchen faucet to flush it out.  A Que-tip with a few drops of Windex (or other gentle cleaner) should work just fine.  Takes all of 30 seconds - and magically, the volume knob appeared and everything worked just fine.

  • Does someone make a wide angle lense accessory for iPad video camera?

Would like to widen iPad video camera perspective when using Skype app. Looking for aftermarket product like Phocus, but for iPad video camera. Anything out there or do I need to develop a start-up myself?

There are a number of lens kits available that will work on the iPad, but I've never seen one that will work on the forward lense (which is what I assum you are looking for). Doesn't mean there isn't one however.

  • My sony video camera has HDMI out - can I download direct into MBP using dhmi

Is it possible to download direct from video camera with HDMI out to Macbook Pro 15" HDMI in.

HDMI out is only suitable to connect to a display.
Current Macs do not have raw-Video inputs. Use USB or FireWire.

    Hi emancabanlit,
For nay issues with the camera on your iPad, refer to the article below to sort it out. Start with force closing the app as well as restarting your device. If it is still having issues then you may want to take your iPad to an Apple Retail Store or and Authorized Service Provider.

  • IPad Video camera

My sister is getting my dad a new IPad with the camera to replace the one she got him, without camera, last Christmas. She wants him to be able
to have video conferencing with family members around the country. We usually do this with Dell computers and external cameras. Will he be able to
video connect with non apple hardware used by others in the family. She assumed this setup would work and purchased an IPAD 2 for a Christmas
    gift.

    Hrwsuperpop-
Yes, but it may depend on the program used.  The Skype App works on either the iPad 1 or 2.  Of course the iPad 1 has no camera, but you can see the other party!  I have not tried conferencing but it works for two-party calls.
I have not tried other Apps, but if there is one to match the program your family is using, it should work.

  • My iPhone 4 wont record sound on the Video Camera. It sounds muffled.

Today, I was trying to record a video but when I was reviewing it i notice that the sound was all muffled like if I was covering the microphone. So I took of my OtterBox Defender Case but that wasnt the problem at all. I tried blowing on both microphones that didnt work I tried cleaning it out with a cotton swab but no luck! Please help me someone!

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have gone through ALL the above steps and are still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Look in your Home/Library/Library/Quicktime folder to see if you have Flip4Mac and/or Perian installed.  If so move both the the Desktop, reboot and try again.
NOTE: In Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For  Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

  • TS1702 IPhone5 video camera not recording sound

My new iPhone 5 does not record audio when using the camera to record video. Any suggestion welcome

I have the same problem.  It's intermittent but it doesn't work more than it does work so it would be easy to replicate.  Sometimes audio would record in and out in a single recording, sometimes nothing but hissing/static.  I do not run a cover of any sort, and my fingers are not covering any holes.

  • My Ipad has lost sound

So my Ipad, 3rd generation, has lost sound.  The volume controls have dissappeared on the task bar, the mute button is not switched on.  But when I use the side button for volume control, I just get the little messgae sound effects.
When I switch the mute button off and on, it shows full volume, or what ever volume I set it at using the little bar in the settings menu for sound.
I get volume after restating my ipad and entering my password, but then it's gone.  I also get sound, when I ask Siri, and she talks when ask her a question. I have even restored the ipad software, but what ever is causing the problem is being reinstalled when the back up loads.
How can I can fix this?  Is anyone one else having this issue?

There have been a number of people that have talked about this same issue for weeks now. I have no idea what causes it, not have I seen anyone say that something specific fixed it. If you restored from a backup - like you said yourself - you could be restoring whatever glitch in the settings causes this to happen.
Have you tried resetting all settings? Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
I reset all of my settings yesterday because I was trying to fix a really weird issue with my Automatic Time Zone setting. It seemed to fix the issue for me. I don't know of it was just a coincidence or not, but it is working properly again for me now.
You will have to go through all of the settings in the settings app and set everything up all over again. You will have to join your home network again. You will have to allow access to all of the apps in the Privacy setting, enable Siri again, Select your custom wallpaper again, reset your brightness level .... All of that stuff.
If that doesn't work, then the next step would be to restore as new and see if the volume comes back, then start adding all of your content back to the iPad.

  • What is the New IPad 3 camera's video bitrate?

i.e. What is the file size per min of recorded HD video using the iPad camera?
    Thanks.

I'm not interested in what video spec the ipad can play.
I'm interested in the iPad video camera's recording spec. When using the iPad camera to record HD video, what is the file size generated for a given duration, say, 1min.
When one considers choosing 16GB or 64GB version, and plan on using the ipad to record video, surely that is a valid consideration.. no?
Apple may not made the information available, but at least in a forum like this, those who owns an iPad 3 and is helpful enough might just look at the video that they have taken before and downloaded to computer, and maybe advise on the file size and duration..
Pointing to official spec site isn't going to help. If the information is there, I would not have needed to ask in a forum (ok, there are people who ask questions without doing a serach first, but I have already searched many places but could not find the anwser). But thanks anyway for those who replied..

  • How do I connect my Sony HD video camera to work as my webcam on a mac-mini

I have just purchased a 2.5GHz 4Mb mini-mac.  I am using a Samsung HD TV and want to use a Sony HD video camera as a webcam.  I have mini-display port, HDMI port and thunderbolt port on the mini-mac.  The video camera has mini HDMI port and I have mini HDMI to HDMI cable.  I also have HDMI to mini-disply connector.  So far I have tried connecting the TV via the HDMI to HDMI cable and the camera via mini HDMI to HDMI/HDMI mini-display convertor to the mini-mac.  The TV is showing the display but the video camera (turned on!) doesn't automatically appear or show in either Finder or as available when I am trying to set up Skype.  Then tried swapping the two around at the mini-mac with the TV now going through the HDMI to mini-display convertor and the camera going to the HDMI port.  Same results as previous set-up.
Can this be made to work? Is there a HDMI to thunderbolt convertor that will work?   Is this plug and play technology or are there more complicated set-up [rocedures?  Any help much appreciated.

  • Video Camera Autofocus?

I'm curious if the new iphone 4 video camera has continuous autofocus or does the camera only focus when you start a recording and then only after when you tap the screen to focus. Is this a feature that can be changed under settings? I do know the 3GS did not have an continually focusing lens and that to refocus the camera takes a tap on the screen. The autofocus feature probably kills battery kill, but it just doesn't make sense not to have it, or to at least have the ability to turn it on and off.
    Thanks for your help.

The current way the camera focuses while using iOS 4 is as follows:
When you begin recording you now have the ability to change what is being focused on when you tap.
When shifting focus the camera only adjusts the light/color balance of the central area of focus.
If you tap somewhere else, only then will it fully focus on the object. Also, that area will be what the camera bases what it is focusing on for light/color balance.

  • What Video Camera?

Hi. Im planning on buying my first own video camera and also im planning on buying Express next month because i heard its more for beginners. Anyways i was wondering what video camera has really good quality. What I like to film is just daily life with my family and friends. I love being able to watch something later down the road and i want to be able to have a good image of that when it happens. Ive always been raised in a home of Sony products so thats pretty much all I know. (Im 20 by the way). But I was wanting to be open minded with my first video camera purchase and see what else is out there besides Sony. I was reffered already to get a min-DV camera. So I narrowed it down to 2 Sony ones.
These are the 2 and also I was wondering why such a big price difference of $250?

What other video cams do you guys suggest? My range is up to $650. Please help me out so I dont make a mistake on which to buy. Also please dont get in a fight over which is better. If you have a different suggestion than someone else let me know why you do also. Thanks for your time.

    Hello dietwater5,
the biggest difference between the HC-48 and the HC-96 is the size of the CCD, which in the end translates as picture quality. Another feature is the A/Vin of the HC-96, which makes it possible to capture video from analog sources.
In the price range you're targeting, I personally would try and see if I could get a good offer on a Panasonic PV-GS300 or PV-GS500. These camcorders come with 3 CCDs and offer very good image quality.
    hope this helps

  • I'm looking at buying an IPad and was wondering if it has the capacity to replace a video camera.

I'm looking at buying an IPad and was wondering if it has the capacity to replace a video camera.  I'm looking at the 128GB version and I know there are many variables.  But I'm thinking that it should hold at least 60 mintues of video before needing it to be downloaded.  Thoughts?

If you want to record good video, get a camera.
iPads can record video but they lack almost all other useful features of a dedicated camera - eg a decent lens, the ability to zoom, reasonable audio, removable media, small form factor .... and on and on.
