Ipad Video Out

Hello, I have a question that I'm hoping someone could solve for me, so here goes:
I currently have an ipad 4.  I previously had an ipad 2.  When I still had the ipad 2, i had an apple cable that allowed me to do video/audio out (via 30 pin to composite cable) and I was able to stream Netflix and/watch movies that i downloaded through itunes.  Now, I realize that the lighting to 30 pin converter does not do video/audio out.  I was wondering if A) apple has a cable that does video out for composite connection for the new lighting interface (I'm aware of the apple digital audio/video cable but I've only seen ones for HDMI or VGA, not composite) or B) if buying the apple digital audio/video cable and then buying a converter box to make it into composite would work as well?  The bottom line, I'm trying to regain this functionality for my new ipad (to be able to stream Netflix and/or itune movies to a tv that only has a composite input (no HDMI)) and just want to know what my options are.
Any advice/suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks.

Right and i believe the only Lighting to Video Cables are the ones that i mentioned- HDMI and VGA but I need composite.  So I'm looking for a solution to that.
The only solution I can think of is to buy the Lightning to HDMI and then connect that to a HDMI to Composite converter and then connect that to a TV.  But I don't want to buy the converter if it's not going to work with streaming both Netflix and any movies that are purchased from itunes and downloaded to my ipad.  This is where I'm looking for help from this community.  Thanks.

  • IPad video out to HDMI mystery

I hope we can shed some light upon this.
I was wondering, what exactly Apple does with the video out feature while the iPad is connected to a 16:9 flatscreen TV via HDMI (digital AV adapter).
    What I found out:
The nominal iPad 3 resolution is 2048 x 1536, which does not fit 1080p, so the iPad scales the home screen down to what? No information about it in the iPad specs and the manual
The home screen is appearantly scaled down to 1536 x 1024, while the output is 1920 x 1080 pixels - so the home screen has a black frame
When using Photos app to view photos, the iPad screen is shown 1:1 on TV - still black frame
When using iPhoto app to view/edit photos, the output to TV is different than on iPad display - photos on TV are displayed in full height (if 3:2) and full screen (if 16:9). Unfortunately, the photo on the TV does not zoom
When using Movies app to view 1080p footage, the TV shows 1080p full screen
When using Movies app to view 720p footage, the TV shows 1080p full screen (video is upscaled by iPad)
What I'm ooking for is an app to show photos in 1080p full screen with zoom. I've tried about 5-8 different who are all supposed to do that - but they all failed. There was even one app that acted as a DLNA server so the TV loaded the photo from the iPad and did the decoding/display, but a TV is not designed for this.

*If your Display Preferences are set to Extended Desktop Mode (Mirroring Off) then it is possible to select and have a different Desktop background image for each Display.*
    Try this:
*1. Go to: System Preferences and select Displays, then click on the Arrangement tab and look at the box for Mirror Displays, is it checked or unchecked?*
    a. If you want the displays to show the same image (Mirroring) then check the box.
    b. If you want to use the connected display for viewing different wIndows (Extended Desktop) then uncheck the box and go to step 2.
*2. Go to: System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Savers and click on the Desktop tab.*
    a. Now you should see a Preference window on each Display which will allow you to select or change the image on each Display.

  • IPad video out problem

    Dear forum users,
I have an iPad with the latest iOS software update, and I am trying to link it with an ACER K11 pico projector (which they advertise to work with iPad).
I am using the Apple video out vga cable, as well as a compatible app like "keynote".
Unfortunately, all I get is a "no signal" message on the projector. The projector works well with other video sources.
I tried it with my iPhone 4 and got the same result.
Any idea what could be the problem?
    Many thanks
    Macphi

Just checking: Did you actually run a presentation? You won't get anything on an external display until you actually start a presentation. VGA out is limited to apps that explicitly support it and even then only in some situations (e.g. the Photos app will only display something once you start a slideshow).

  • How do I zoom in and out on my iPad videos

How do I zoom in and out using my ipad video?

Double click the clip in the Timeline, to place it in the viewer.
In the Viewer window click the Motion tab. Adjust the "Scale" control and set keyframes as needed.

  • Video out from ipad pages??

I can't seem to find any direct information about which apps support video out and which don't. The ipad guide says simply, "apps which support video out" will work with the vga adaptor but nowhere can I find whether pages specifically will do that. Anyone tried it yet?
    TIA!

I have not tried Pages...however, I have tried Keynote and it does support Projector or TV output... I'd be very surprised if Pages and Numbers don't...

  • Video out Ipad interface screen

How can I use the iPad to project out the interface screen with the video out cable ? Is there an app I can use to do so ?

This is not an option. VGA out only works within applications, and then only those that support is, like Keynote, NetFlix, a few browsers etc. Safari will not even project, I use Expedition.

Delete the app and reinstall it. It's not like the app has tons of stored data. You will lose your favorite locations and they are easy to set up again.
Tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles. Tap the X on the icon to delete it. Tap the home button to stop the apps from wiggling. Download the app again.

Import the videos into iTunes on your computer and use Home Sharing to stream the videos to the iPad. These should get you started.

  • Can video be loaded to ipad from any camcorder with a usb (video out) cord?

Using the camera connection kit usb adaptor, can video be downloaded to an iPad2 from any camcorder with a usb (video out) cord?  Would the video then be accessed via iTunes?

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4101 :
iPad Camera Connection Kit imports most media files on the camera or SD card, regardless of whether that format is compatible with iPad. If you are unable to view certain images or videos, verify that they are in an iPad compatible format, or import them to your computer for viewing.
They should then be accessible from your computer, but not via iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Video out from ABC app to my TV

I have ABC's app that allows me to watch their shows. It works fine on the iPad, but when I connect an Apple Composite AV cable to my TV all I get is sound. No video. I have my iPad set to video NTSC but I don't get it on my TV. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
    donald

Only a few apps right now support the Video Out function... the developer is tasked with making their apps compatible with this...over time more and more will I assume... For now only a few native apps are like the Movies in iPod section or the Keynote App (strangely Pages and Numbers are NOT supporting video out currently)

  • Analog VIDEO OUT - has this been killed forever?

So, have we reached the end of the line for ANALOG VIDEO OUT on ALL devices?
Apparently, there is NO analog video out on iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad 4th Gen, or iPhone 5th Gen - all devices with the ridiculously small 8-pin connector, which all run iOS6
Apple's sales site for the $30, 8-pin to 30-pin connector clearly says "Video not supported"
    What?
So anyone with an expensive car video system, 30-pin composite video link, home AV receiver, etc. is out of luck?
Is this a sign that Apple has rolled-over to Hollywood in advance of an Apple TV system that only transmits HDCP-style-encrypted digital TV signals?
    That would be bad
Anyone have the answer to this?  I've read here that people with 4th Gen devices (iPad 3rd Gen) running iOS6 are also being denied video since the update from iOS5 to iOS6 (which some "believe" is a "software" error in the update).
    Is that true as well?
Apple couldn't possibly be doing this on purpose to their, oh, I don't know, 100 million users of previous devices - could they?
Someone - please...reassure us there is a fix in the mix for this mess

  • IPad video poster frames white box with grey tv, looking for fix

I have searched the forums and can not find a working solution.
I have mpeg4 Apple TV/ iPad videos that I have added to my iPad through iTunes.
When they came in, all the poster frames were black, as that's the first frame of video.  I manually went though iTunes and set each poster frame.
I then sync and reboot on the iPad.  Poster frames are now white squares with grey tv.
    Repeated the above twice.
Signed in and out of home share (as suggested by one forum) and reboots iPad.
Have removed all files from iPad and then added back.  Back to black poster frames.
I have no way to check if the poster frame are correct as in iTunes, I can only see files on the iPad in list view.  When I do get info, there is nothing about the poster frame.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
    Ipad2
    iOS 6.1.2
    iTunes 11.0.1
    MacPro OSX 10.7.5
    Thanks!

    BUMP.
Still looking for an answer on this.  In addition to the above:
I have tried setting the poster frames inside of iTunes
I have tried setting the poster frames outside of iTunes and then importing onto the iPad though iTunes.
    Setting ratings made no difference.
I can not add artwork manually, it is greyed out in the info pain and not accessible.
Still same results.  Now all video files are a Grey Square with a different symbol depending on what "Media Kind" the file is set to.  And in fact, when I do this, the files disappear from iTunes and I can no longer find them.
    Apple, Please help!!
Reading the Forums, this is a problem that has yet to be answered.

  • No video out to tv

I have an ipad 2 I always connected it to the tv via the video connectors on the tv red yellow white cables. It worked fine in fact I watched it for about three nights recently. On the third night the video vanished. The audio still comes in but no video. I went to the apple store and they checked the ipad said there was nothing wrong and gave me free new connectors. It is still not allowing video out to the tv monitor. My old ipod 5 will do video out fine. Any suggestions?

I bought the adapter from apple, so I think it's apple branded.
    Here's a picture of it:

apple warrentied it and they actually replaced it the first time I went in and also tested it on their MacBook, they even tested my svideo cord.
