IPad virtual keyboard missing grave - back tick ?
Okay I used notes and went through the entire keyboard. Where is the back tick or grave character? On a normal keyboard it's on the tilde key. Suppose a website required special characters in the password. How could you use the iPad to login if you used this character?

Unfortunately that's not always an option. It's really puzzling why Apple has failed to fix this bug for nearly 3 years now. The grave accent has been one of the 95 printable characters of the standard ASCII set for over 2 decades, and people or programs which generate passwords are fully justified in thinking they should be able to use it and that any normal computer should be able to type it. Especially crazy is the fact, as pointed out by johnb, that when typing an email address in Mail, Apple's virtual keyboard does include the grave accent, which serves no purpose whatsoever in that context.

Soft Return in Numbers with iPad Virtual Keyboard?
When using my Apple wireless keyboard I am able to create a soft return/new line within a text cell by using "option + enter" keys. The "enter" key by itself moves the cursor to the next cell instead of doing a new paragraph or line within the same cell.
Is there any way to replicate this functionality with the virtual keyboard on the iPad? There are times when I don't have my wireless keyboard with me, like right now, and still need to have that functionality.This is an iPad user to user forum. Apple doesn't read or respond. I bought a case with a bluetooth connected keyboard. Much easier to use than the on-screen keyboard if you do a lot of typing. You can use many/most computer wireless keyboards with the iPad.

Ipad Virtual Keyboard Disappears
After a certain time of utilisation, the virtual keyboard dissapears. After a reset it appears again. Is there any way to fix this problem, without doing resets ?
Thanks for your helpI had the same problem. Do you have the wireless Bluetooth keyboard? If you do and you are not using it, go into settings and turn off the Bluetooth setting. This will restore the virtual keyboard. The virtual keyboard appears to get confused when the bluetooth keyboard is not in range and the iPad is searching for it.

Will typing on an iPad virtual keyboard make me less proficient in typing on a traditional keyboard?
My teacher told me that I should stop typing on my iPad because I won't be able to type on a computer anymore?
I often find that when I type at a computer, I automatically use some of the shortcuts available on the iPad, e.g. double space to enter a full stop, or "hes" instead of "he's", and I have to go back and correct them.
For that reason I prefer to type the apostrophes myself using the shortcut suggested by bobseufert, so that I don't get into that habit. Unfortunately autocorrect down't like that, and messes with them, e.g. turns "it's not" into "it' snot".
There's nothing stopping you getting a Bluetooth keyboard and using that. I think a full size one will work (can anyone confirm?) and then typing will be exactly the same as on a computer. -
Russian virtual keyboard missing a character!
...namely character "ъ".
I understand that space is limited and this character needed not very often, but why don't BB place it among numerics or another extended set?
Same issue with character "ё"It may be an alternate selection on another key. Is there a similar Russian letter? If so hold that letter and a pop up will be available allowing you to select the other letter.

I have used the same Apple ID on my children's iPads. Both iPads are now showing as the same. How do I get the missing account back?
You can clear the iPad and start again with the other account> Settings->General->Reset->Erase all Content & Settings
Or you can go to Settings->Itunes and App Stores->Apple ID->Sign Out,
And Then Sign in with the other account. You can then download the Apps with that account. Though you may block the other account for 90 days.
Your best bet is to set it up again using the orighinal account it had, so you can get their Apps back. without affecting your account. -
When I try to buy ibooks from my ipad, the virtual keyboard is not the same as my computer keyboard, and since my password consists of letters, numbers and symbols, the ipad keeps displaying "incorrect password". Is there any way around this please anybody?

Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character? -

Try a system reset. It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to do a time-consuming "Restore." -

With the iPad, make sure Bluetooth is turned on, Settings > General > Bluetooth - ON
Turn the keyboard on and see if the iPad recognizes it and pairs. -
Issue - ipad connecting with vmware view client v5.1. "any way to disable or hide the vmware view's radial virtual keyboard mouse interface" either in vmware view client settings, hidden cmds, or ipad system settings.
My client is using an external blue tooth ipad metal cover type keyboard and does not wish to have the radial keyboard / mouse visable or floating on desktop when connecting to vm with iPad using vmware view client v5.1.
i was unable to locate any settings or related toggle key/function combo keystrokes under iPad settings under vmware view client, to affect viewability of the radial keyboard/mouse. And can you kill it from service/process on vm instead of ipad? then dont allow service to restart at startup? What is the name of services that enable the radial virtual keyboard mouse - function to work?

stratman1I'm having a very similar issue. Sometimes, when I boot and type in startx (I'm not even a GNOME user--I use dwm and no graphical login manager), I just get a black screen. No mouse cursor, so I think X doesn't even load. It only started with the xserver 1.6 update and the update to that hasn't changed anything. What I've been doing is just rebooting until it loads normally (takes one to three times). Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi all I have a problem with regard to virtual keyboard and streaming through the adapter HdMi, the keyboard when I want to write after a while, the horizontal bar where there google voice covers the top of the letters and unable to write and had to power cycle the device to return to how it was before, while streaming via hdmi between iPad 2 and a monitor when I run the stream, the screen is completely black but emits audio and iPad remains the streaming window with the window crashed the site, what not to do, if I make an end to the stream in full screen, you see a window but not full screen, if someone knows how to help me out on this, you have had the same problem as my'd be happy to hear from you soon and solve this bug in iOS 7.1.2 before that did not happen, thanks and warm greetings to all of you.

Why Apple not have a virutal keyboard for the iPad equal at the keyboard dock as option? For my is more easy work whith the same virtual keyboard in the iPad like my Mac.

The Kaspersky support forums mention that those extensions will be updated soon, so that they are compatible with FF25. In the meantime, we do not recommend that you downgrade your version of Firefox, but you can find instructions and download locations for previous versions here:

Tap and hold on the keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the keyboard. Select Dock and it will return to its normal position. You can turn off undocking and splitting of the keyboard at
