IPad web page issues

When I pull up Safari on my iPad, I'm able to type in a website and pull it up (my gmail account, for example), but the actual page is shaded.  I can see my emails but I can't click on anything or toggle between pages.  Anyone know how to fix this?  By the way, FaceBook and all other apps are working just fine.

I have the same problem.  I tried the above fix and it did not work.  I can go to google but cannot click a link or scroll.  I can go to any web page I type in the address bar but cannot manuver when I get there.

  • Opening iPad web page on PC?

I frequently use my iPad while at my desktop PC. While viewing a web page in Safari, what is the fastest way to get it up on my PC web browser please? For short URLs manual entry is the obvious choice, but they're the minority.

    Mike,
On a WM-based device (like my HTC Touch Pro 2) a program called Microsoft ActiveSync is permanently running on my PC. That continuously syncs a specific folder on both TP2 and PC, called C:\Docs\Touch_Pro2 My Documents. That's currently about 32 MB. Within that I use a sub-folder called C:\Docs\Touch_Pro2 My Documents\MyTP2Misc (currently 3 MB, 87 files) to hold stuff I use either: regularly, like Contacts.txt or Key Dates.txt, or to which I might need short term access, like directions while traveling, or an urgent reminder ... *or a quick paste of a URL like the one under discussion.*
Of course, the TP2 must be connected to the PC via USB, when automatic syncing takes place immediately. If I'm away from my desktop at the time I copy the URL or whatever text I need to upload, then it has to await my return home. Or an email in iPad fashion!

  • Web Pages Issue?

The update of A2 to 2.1.1 changes Icons and other facets of the interface to use the MobileMe references. With a new Web Page, the button is changed to read Publish to MobileMe.
However, the resulting URL is still referencing .mac? Manually changing the URL to read .me is not interchangeable, and is not an operable URL.
Can this be the source of some issues being reported in this forum, such as:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1636505&tstart=0
    or in
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1636096&tstart=0
Are other apps expecting the URL to be of an updated form, and employ the .me reference?

    Hello,
I just tried to reproduce the error you have. I am not getting the error you are talking about. I have tried it with both https and http sites.
    Try this:
    1. Instead of trying other https sites for testing the config, try creating the Iview and the page again.
    2. Check with a different browser.
    3. Check on a different system.
My Case I am using Sneak Preview NW 04s.
Feel free to revert back with any questions.
    Thanks,

  • Web Page Issues

I have a Lycos Tripod web page that I pay monthly for and have discovered that I cannot load pictures into the web shell anymore.  They come out with the top 1/3 showing and the rest is gray.  They are not larger than those already in and on the pages.  I need to add new photos.  The support from Tripod said this
The only web browser that is technically supported is Internet Explorer. Google chrome is not one of these nor is Fire fox. Safari from what we understand has a developer mode which will make it run of Internet explorer. If you are not sure how to enable this you would need to research this or contact apple to find out.
Does anyone know what he is talking about or (more importantly) how to do this?  It is a major problem for me and my business.
    Thank you.

You can't run Internet Explorer on a Mac unless you use BootCamp located in /Applications/Utilities to create a Windows partition which is involved and requires doing your homework first. Microsoft hasn't written IE for Mac for years.

Safari from what we understand has a developer mode which will make it run of Internet explorer.  /   Does anyone know what he is talking about or (more importantly) how to do this?
Yes... you can try that but no guarantee it will work with that site.
Go to Safari > Preferences then select  the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Develop > User Agent
    Try IE 9, 8, or  7.
It is a major problem for me and my business.
If the user agent didn't help, you can pick up an inexpensive netbook for $500 (maybe less) running Windows which has IE pre installed. If you are in the states, try Best Buy, or wareshouse shopping such as Coscto or Sam's.

  • SCS-2U01 Web Page Issue

What do I need to do to access the SCS-2U01 device web page?  I would like to check settings but the page doesn't load and times out in Firefox and IE.  Also, no ping response from the unit.
The mac address on the bottom matches the address found in the router's ARP table so I know I'm pinging the correct IP address.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Actually my problems with the jsp page is,the user didnt enter any information on particularly textbox, textfield ,it is going to previous jsp page without validating,so the user want to do server side validation (not client side validation) ,how to achieve it on each textbox, textfield,Please come up with solution of server side validation code...:_|

  • Safari iPad web pages

IIn the latest up date, when I go to a page I used to click  X on left corner of page which took me back to previous screen. Now I have to click the "double screen" in the upper right hand corner to view the page to be able to exit.
also when I go to Safari, it shows two tabs one with my favorites listed going down the left side and the right side shows my webpage icons.
these used to be two separate pages but now on one.
does anyone have any ideas to fix the issues?
    THanks,
    Don

    Hi ...
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help either, tap Settings > Safari then tap to clear History, Cookies, and Data.
    Then restart your iPad.
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Web pages load SLOW on IPad: how to disable DNS prefetching; other ideas?

Brand new IPad 16 GB WiFi + brand new Airport Extreme in bridge mode. Comparing IPad web page load speeds with side-by-side WinXP computer running IE8. Any web site will do: take www.apple.com if you want.
Problem: IPad web pages generally load much too slowly compared to IE8 on a computer 6 inches away on the same Airport Extreme network. Maybe twice as slow at worst, occasionally not much slower, but generally pathetic and annoying. WiFi signal strength is "excellent". Airport Extreme network is working great with all my (Windows) computers and devices except the IPad.
I already switched to OpenDNS on my Airport Extreme; didn't help noticeably. I would like to try disabling DNS prefetching in Safari, but don't know how to do it on the IPad. Question #1: How do I disable DNS prefetching? Question #2: Any other suggestions for this embarrassing (to Apple) problem?

I'm experiencing a similar problem with a new iPad 2 using iOS 4.3.3 connected to the Internet via Time Machine to a DSL line.  The Speedtest X HD App shows the connection speed to be fine (about .6 Mb / s).  The problem is only with accessing web pages.  I frequently get a "server not responding" msg.  There is no problem when I connect the device via USB to an iMac, only through wifi.  The iMac itself (Intel with OSX 10.6.7) periodically experiences problems (both Firefox and Safari):  I have learned to solve it by cleaning out cache and fixing disk permissions periodically.  I've tried cleaning out cache on the iPad, deleting cookies and erasing web history, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.  The problem reminds me of an old VNC problem:  you had to allocate a large amount of cache or streaming would stall.  This is also happening with the iPad 2.  Maybe the problem is a DNS channel issue but my impression is that it is somehow related to a memory or cache issue with the iOS device or to Airport.  I've occassionally experienced similar slow page loading problems with other Airport connected devices--it varies from device to device.  It seems to be a client-side software or caching problem.

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • The app store on my iPad looks like a broken web page?

Hi! First, let me apologise if this is in the wrong ocation. If it is, please move the thread. Thanks! (Sorry.)
    Now only the problem...
I'm no newb to technology so I'll do what I can to explain this. It's an intermittent and unusual issue, basically, and what happens is that for most of the day the app store looks like a broken web page (like CSS and images aren't loading), and I can only access it normally every now and then. But here's where it gets weird.
The PC iTunes is fine (both web and application) and loads images, behaves normally, and so on. No issues there. All sites are accessible, and I have no trouble reaching Apple servers (I've run latency checks).
    What I've also tried:
    - Rebooting my router (multiple times).
    - Closing all apps on the iPad (including the store) then trying the app store (as the only app open).
    - Rebooting the iPad, then trying again.
    - Signing out of the store, rebooting the iPad, and signing in before trying again.
    - Doing the above step but with all apps closed first.
    - Browsing on the iPad (via Maven and Safari), both are fine. No weird Internet issues.
What boggles the mind is that the PC iTunes and web version of the app store works. I mean, if I go to the web app store and look at the page for a game, I get images of the game. If I use my iPad, I get the border of the image with a [?] icon in it. (As I said, it looks like a broken web page where CSS and images just aren't loading.)
Sometimes, but more rarely, I'll have trouble connecting to the store.
And occasionally (but even more rarely) it behaves just fine.
If it wasn't for the intermittent nature of it I'd be convinced that I'd somehow corrupted the app store on the iPad somehow. But the more I think about it the more I wonder if this is my ISP somehow being ridiculous despite the web/PC application working. And currently I'm really at a loss. It's worse because when I want to sit down and browse the app store to buy some things, I can't. So this is stopping me from giving Apple money.
It might just be my ISP though. My ISP is Surfwise, if it helps. As I said, no other Internet issues at all.

    Boo. I can't edit. Sorry...
I also want to note that my iPad is -not- rooted and is quite new. And also that it's a third generation iPad.

  • Having issues with loading web pages after using migration assistant

Last week my old macbook pro died and i purchased a new 13" mbp. I brought it home the first day i bought it and just turned it on and started playing with it and the internet was blazing fast, no issues at all. I then brought it back to the apple store where they peformed a migration from my old hdd to my new macbook pro. I then took it back to my dorm and connected to the same exact internet and now i am having problems loading web pages. Sometimes the page will load on the first try (click) and other times it will hang there loading but never fully load the page, and if it does load somewhat certain things are missing from the page. So i have to click the link again, and again, and sometimes again for it to finally load correctly. I dont know what is wrong but i have a feeling it is files from my old system conflicting with new ones when it comes to loading web pages. Everything is up to date the OS and firefox and i am having the same issues in safari. Also my ipad and blackberry have no problem connecting to the wifi so that is not the issue. I really hope someone can help me out because this is really starting to drive me crazy.

If your still having problems, or anyone else......
For future info, your in the wrong forum, your need the MBP area, this is the MacPRO area, no big deal, I can barely keep up with the M & B & P, etc...
Sounds like when it migrated over your old settings it may have gotten corrupted? It has been known to work if you were to just make another "Location" and just re-enter the information again and sometimes that will help. You might take it back to the store and see if it does it on their connection also. The silly person should have tested it first before letting you go.
    Hope you got it fixed...

  • How to adjust the font size of iPad in printing a web page.

How to adjust the font size of iPad printout of web pages ?

In HTML Header I put textDid you mean Page Header Text? It wouldn't have done much of anything at all in the HTML Header...
However, the font doesn't do anything.Yet another universal selector problem: see +{message:id=4184109}+
How do I overwrite the style sheet? I am wondering if I change the default style sheet, does that also affect the other pages, which is not what I want. In that case you can just include the CSS inline, which will also get round the universal selector issue. You are also recommended to use a semantic HTML element instead of deprecated presentational elements like <center> and <font>. Assuming this text is the primary heading on the page, use <h1>:
    <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#my_header_logo_white.jpg" alt="" title="Application" />
    <h1 style="font-size: large; font-weight: bold; text-align: center;">Web Management System</h1>

  • My iPad won't load web pages, even though it was working fine two days ago.

Up until 2 days ago I had no problems with my iPad 3.
However now it will not load any web pages at all (Using Safari). In order to get it to load web pages I either
have to reboot or turn it off and then on again. It then connects but only ever to one page at a time.
I don't understand what the issue is since it was fine before. It is not my Wifi network as it works fine on
    other laptops.

    Try this:
    1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • Jetpack and iPad connected and 3 bars of 4G LTE coverage yet can't open web page or get email - no network?

I've checked and both the iPad and the Jetpack say they are connected to each other.  I'm showing at least 3 bars of 4G LTE coverage, but can't get email to load - "pop.verizon.net" server not responding - and web pages never load.  What's wrong?  I also can't look at Data on the Jetpack it refreshing fails.

You may be connected to the Jetpacks WiFi network but it doesn't sound like the Jetpack itself is allowing you out onto the VZW network/internet. Id start with a simple SIM card reset and see if you can clear up the authentication issues.
    SIM card reset:
    1. Power down the Jetpack
    2. Remove the back cover
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Remove the SIM card
    5. Let the device sit disassembled for 60 seconds
    6. Reassemble and try again
