Ipad wifi connection problem

When I first started my ipad a few weeks ago, I set up the wifi I have at home, no problem. But yesterday and today I have had intermittent problems with the wifi not working on my ipad. It gives me the message, no connection and then asks for my password. I have entered the password several times (I have confirmed that it is correct) but to no avail. It keeps telling me the password is incorrect!! My daughter's laptop and mine both work fine but not the ipad.

Restart the iPad and see if that works.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work ....
Try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and then enter the network information and try again.
Or ....
You can also try Settings>WiFi>Tap the blue arrow next to your network name and then tap - Forget this Network. Then find the network and enter the passord again.

  • IPad WiFi Connection Problems - WiFi Symbol Appears With Full Bars but I Don't Get A Checkmark?

I was using the iPad one day and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. The network at this hotel is very good and I've asked them about their router so it is not the router's problem.
I go to the Settings and tap on Wi-Fi then I tap on the hotel network. After a few seconds, it says the network name beside the Wi-Fi tab and it gives me the WiFi symbol showing 3 bars. But then I never get the checkmark or tick saying everything is connected. I try going online and it says the iPad is not connected to the internet. I've tried an iPhone and it connected and got a checkmark in a few seconds. I've talked to the front desk and he took out his phone and showed me that he could connect, he even opened a page without any problems at all.
I've been trying to find a solution for this for a long time. I've been searching Google over and over again. I turned Airplane Mode on for 1 minute, I've tried Resetting my Network settings, I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting again, I've tried removing all restrictions from the iPad, I've rebooted the iPad A LOT, etc.
So this is my problem for people who don't want to read the whole message:
    1. I can't connect to the internet with the iPad
    2. It shows the WiFi symbol saying its connected but I never get the checkmark or tick.
    3. It's not the router problem.
    4. I've tried other networks and it doesn't work. It just keeps on showing that loading circle right beside the network name.
    5. Do any of you know what this problem is? Or do you have a solution?
Thank you for reading this and have a great day

  • Are there any known issues with iPad wifi connections to Comcast routers

I consistently get the "unable to join network " error when trying to connect to my Comcast all in one router.  My other laptops and smartphones connect without issue.  I'm using 32GB iPad2 with wi-fi + 3G.  Coincidentally I switched to comast at the same time I did the 5.1.1 update.  Prior to the switch i had a fios router and 5.0 OS version. I've tried resetting the network info on the iPad and I've reset the router as well.  I can see the network just cant connect to it.

  • New retina MacBook Pro - WiFi connectivity problems

    Dear all,
I've recently purchased the new Haswell 13" retina MBP, and I'm having exactly the same WiFi connectivity problems the 2013 Airs had. I have a solid connection for a short time, and at irregular intervals it just drops out. All of my other devices are still connected and have no problems. I've tried with two different routers/modems, but the problem persists.
Is this a known problem - with hopefully a software fix in the forseeable future, or do I need to return the MacBook?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
    Nic

I haven't got a Retina, but I do have the same wifi problem. And if you've looked at these forums, you'll see it's been going on for years and no one seems to have a handle on what the issue is. All I can say is if I were in your place I'd take it back and exchange it. You have the chance now, so take it.

  • Iconia A1-830 has a Wifi connection problem when it out to 3-5 meters

I bought Aser Iconia A1-830 in BestBuy and after 10 days I found out the Wifi Connection problem. If you stay close to router (1-3 meters) the WiFi signal is Good (not excellent). If I go to another room - Wifi connection is Poor or disabled. I changed it for another one (the same model). The second model was perfect only 1.5 months and now it has the same wifi connection problem. Can somebody help me? Maybe the problem in my router, but why it worked 1.5 months?

I'm not sure what the real reason is, but I do know it's a it of a hassle getting the connectors pushed back on. They are very tiny and take some pressure to install and I could easily imagine a wire not completely tied in place moving enough to work loose. Let us know how yours comes out.

  • Any wifi connection problems with new Macbook Pro 13" models?

I currently use a 15" Macbook Pro (about 3.5 years old) that has intermittent WiFi connection issues (intermittently loses signal). This seems to have been a very common problem with this laptop model. My kids, who use Macbooks, have no connection problems. In any case, I'd love to buy one of the new model 13-inch Macbook Pro's but hesitate because of my many issues with WiFi connectivity on my older Macbook Pro. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing connectivity problems with the new model?

I've never had Wifi connection problems with a Macbook and now with the 13" MacBook Pro I was flabergasted when I took my MacBook down the street to a coffee house with free WiFi. I went to connect to their WiFi and found my own WiFi connection listed. I thought this odd even though I was on the same block as my apartment, my apartment is six stories up. I connected to the Coffee Shop WiFi but it was really slow so I wondered if I could connect to my own home connection. I switched it over and lo-and behold I did connect! It was a good 300 feet away! I NEVER saw this with previously owned MacBooks including the black MacBook and the MacBook offered just before they moved the MacBook up to the Pro series.
So I'd say they have improved the WiFi nicely.

  • N95 8BG "WiFi Connection problems" and "Web: no ga...

Like many users, I could not get my new Nokia (N95 8GB) to work with my WiFi. After many attempts, using the various ideas posted, I came up with a solution that works reliably for me.
First lets deal with "WiFi Connection problems"
    Menu/Tools/Settings/Connection/Wireless LAN
    'Show WLAN availability' = 'Yes'
'Scan for networks' = 'Every 5 minutes'
Some users have suggested choosing 'Advanced Settings' from the 'Options' menu, changing 'Automatic configuration' to 'Disabled' and the either setting 'RTS threshold' to '2346', or setting 'Power saving' to 'Disabled'. I tried both of these but they did not make any difference in my case. However they may make a difference for you, hence their inclusion here.
    Menu/Tools/Settings/Connection/Access Points
Choose 'New access point' from the 'Options' menu
    'Data bearer' = 'Wireless LAN'
'WLAN network name' = If your network is set to broadcast its SSID, use 'Search for networks' then select your network from the list, otherwise use 'Enter manually' and type in the SSID.
'Connection name' = anything you like, but I use the SSID
'Network status' = not sure about this maybe someone can confirm, but I think if the SSID is broadcast then it is 'public', otherwise it is 'private'.
'WLAN network mode' = match this to your access point configuration. Mine is set to 'Infrastructure', so I do not cover the ad-hoc scenario here.
'WLAN security mode' = again I am using WEP so have not covered other scenarios.
'WLAN security settings' = these should match you access point configuration.
'Homepage' = whatever you like. I use 'http://www.google.co.uk', just so that when I start browsing I get something reliable, useful, and dependable. If Google fails to appear it usually means there is something wrong with your config.
Now lets handle the dreaded "Web: no gateway reply"
    Menu/Tools/Settings/Connection/Access Points
Scroll down to highlight the new access point and choose 'Edit' from the 'Options' menu. Now choose 'Advanced settings' from the 'Options' menu.
Assuming you network used IPv4, which most do in my experience, select 'IPv4 settings'. I don't know about IPv6, and don't use a proxy so these are not covered.
The values you enter in 'IPv4 settings', depend upon your network/router settings, and whether you have a DHCP server or not.
Assume your a router IP Address, on the LAN side, is 192.168.0.1, and that it has a DHCP server set to serve addresses in the range 192.168.0.64 to 192.168.0.192, using subnet 255,255,255,0. Since the mobile does not seem able to get an IP Address from the DHCP server we give it a static address 192.168.0.55. Notice this is outside the range sereved by te DHCP server to avoid conflicts.
    We end up with:
    'Phone IP address = '192.168.0.55'
    'Subnet mask' = '255,255,255,0'
    'Default gateway' = '192.168.0.1'
    'DNS address' = 'user defined'
    'Primary DNS address' = '192.168.0.1'
    'Secondary DNS address' = '0.0.0.0'
I used something similar and was at last able to browse the web via wifi.
I hope all of the above helps someone out there.

I have just experienced this problem having been using the WiFi network for months without problems. I tries all the suggestions on these forums including the power settings, turning off WEP, and the fixed IP suggestion and none worked. I even reinstalled the firmware and reconfigured everything. It turned out to be the router. I had rebooted it several times to no effect but the DHCP always gave the N95 the same IP address lease. So I changed the range of IP addresses the DHCP could lease and restarted the N95. It got a new IP and was back working again.
If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it.

  • Chronic Wifi Connectivity Problems

My late 2011 MBP has been having chronic wifi connectivity problems ever since I got it, although I have really only begun to see the full extent. I bought it in late April 2012, so I am still covered by my one year warranty.
    Problems are as follows:
Will not connect to certain areas. I am okay in my dorm, at my house, and several friend's houses, but it won't connect anywhere else on campus. (You can imagine that this is a problem.)
I am running bootcamp on it, and the Windows side has no issues with connectivity.
About every month, like clockwork, the wifi stops working altogether. It won't give me an IP address and the only solution is to clean reinstall OS. Which is getting very annoying.
    Additional Information:
Within the first 60 days of having my mac, I had connectivity problems at a friend's house. Still covered by Applecare, they fixed my problem by renewing the DHCP lease and some other things that I can't remember.
I took the MBP to a Genius Bar when the wifi completely went out and the only solution they had was to clean reinstall the OS. This involves completely wiping the harddrive and reinstalling, not reinstalling over top of what is already there.
As you can imagine, I am extremely frustrated having to reinstall and restore my machine. I am wondering if these problems are preventable, fixable, or if my computer has a manufacturing problem that can be fixed under my warranty.
    Thank you for your help!

    Hey RJS568999,
I found that if you can connect to your Wi-Fi router, but are having issues with webpages loading, sending or receiving email, etc., Apple recommends you use Wireless Diagnostics, included with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.4 and later.
You can read more about it here:
    About Wireless Diagnostics

  • WiFi connection problem testing

I am also one of many having the intermittent WiFi connection problem at home.
From a technical testing mode. Get the free the "FreePing" application by Marcel Lanz in the app store.
What you will find is when you are having the internet connection problem, you can not ping your Router. However, you can ping any wired Mac or desktop computer on your router/switch network.
This tells you, you are on the network, getting an IP address from the router DHCP server.
The problem is not related to the Wi-Fi connection or connecting to the network (OSI Layer 2 model).
It appears to be a problem at the OSI Network Layer 3. The router is having a problem in the routing table. The hard part is the Layer 3 problem can be either in the Touch or the router in this configuration. Meaning, the combination of both Touch and router is causing the problem. Thus, the intermittent operation.
Yes, this is probably more technical than anyone here cares to know.

    Hi,
You should be debugging the driver / contact the vendor. Seems like netrtwlanu is realtek based chipset.
The abort points to this driver (at least the PC).

  • Wifi connection problem better with full battery

I have a macbook air I bought in 2012  (1.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 Gb memory) I know there are a lot of problems with other users complaining of wifi connecting problems. I have experienced the same problem but only when my battery charge is less than 98%. After my macbook has been on sleep for several hours, and has not been plugged in, the battery slowly drains and when I try to use it, it refuses to connect to any wifi connection. But as soon as I charge it up to 100% then it automatically connects, without having to restart it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there has been any other answers from Apple regarding a potential fix for this issue....

Try this and it should reset your printer.  On the front panel press the * and the # key at the same time, then press 1,2,3 in that order on the touch screen touch the left arrow button twice which will take you to the reset menu then press ok.  Press the left arrow two more times and it should say "semi-full reset" press ok and this will be performed.  The printer should shut down and will have to be turned back on, it will ask you for your language and your country the printer should initialize itself and should print an alignment page. NOTE: any speed dial numbers will be lost when you perform the semi-full reset.

So disappointed with IOS 6.  I'm having weak wifi connection since upgrading to it.  Can Apple do something about it? Can you at least reset it to IOS 5.1.1?

Sorry Jim for the wrong question because I'm getting frustated with my IPAD since I can't use it for surfing internet with a faster speed.  Ipad was very convenient to use until this IOS 6 upgrade.  Tried all the suggestions in the forums but still gets back to weak wifi connection.

  • How do I solve my wifi connection problem on iPhone5?

I am not able to connect (AT ALL) to my home broadband wifi.  I have no problems with any other devices other than my iPhone5.  On connection, it asks me for an apple username and password from www.apple.com (that is not the same as my itune username and password).  It then tells me that log in has failed and reverts to a strange peach coloured screen with an announcement that I'm not authorised!
Any advice would be grately received.
    Thank you.

I will post some screen shots later.
I have tried the iTunes username and password but it does not accept these.
It is apparently a well known problem in the UK and Apple are also aware of it although they aren't doing much about it - apparently there is to be a 'fix' in the next update?  Not sure, in the meantime, I've been unable to connect to my home broadband for 4months!
As I said, none of my other devices, iPod Touch/MacBook/iPad, have this problem.  Just the iPhone 5.
Thank you for your comments so far...screen shots to follow later.
