IPad WiFi continually dropping, but iPhones work

I need to connect to a particular corporate WiFi network.
I have an iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad3 and an iPad2.  All are running iOS v6.1.3.  All are configured identically for WiFi access to this corporate network.
Both of the phones connect reliably to the network, and both of the iPads connect, but continually drop out to the point that the service is useless.
I have tried everything I could find on the web (Forget this network, turn WiFi off and on, reset network settings, hard reset, etc.).
Is this a known bug?

Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Ipad 3 wifi connection drops but appears connected

I bought the new ipad about 6/7 weeks ago and from the start ive experienced wifi issues. When im browsing the internet through safari or any app that requires wifi connectivity i keep coming accross dropouts. Safari stops loading anything and eventualy comes up with an error saying that the connection is lost! But i have a full connection? The dropping ranges from every 30 min to 5 min. I thought it was a software problem at first so i told myself to deal with it. But its starting to really bug me! Other devices are fine and ive experienced the same problem on different networks. So it must be my ipad!? Ive been through all the wifi walkthroughs and ive done a large amount of research and ive found im not the only one experiencing this problem. Ive heard alot that it could be a hardware problem. something wrong with the actual wifi component. So what do i do? Do i take it to the apple store for a repair or replacement? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • IPad will not send mail, but iPhone works. Outgoing servers are set up the same. I tried shutting off iPhone to not confuse the wireless network. Still doesn't work.

Can't send mail from iPad but IPhone is sending. Outgoing servers are set up exactly the same. I closed both safari and mail on the iPhone to try and avoid conflicts with iPad. I also shut down and restarted iPad. Still won't send.

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

  • Wifi Connection drops but still have all bars. Please Apple, respond us

I have a macbook pro 13''(purchased 1 month), a white macbook (bought in 2007) and a dell vostro 1310 (with windows 7) using the same router WRT54G2 Linksys or D-link 524
Only on my macbook pro 13''my connection drops without explanation and without a certain period (15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours).
I'm with latest updates (both macbook as a router), already formatted and applied the 10.6.4 combo. I have already put ip manually turned off DHCP, DNS already placed manually, I swapped the channel router. Everything recommended in official forums, but nothing helped.
What makes me saddest is that Apple does not respond. Even with so many threads about this problem.

  • Ipad mirroring onto tv but iphone mirroring will not even though it's on airply

IIpad mirroring works on airplay but iphone mirroring on airplay does not show on tv with Apple TV

it also says this on the apple site..
    What you need
To use AirPlay, you need these:
iPhone 4 (or later), iPad, iPad mini, or iPod touch (4th generation or later)
For videos or photos: Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation)
For music: Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), AirPort Express, or AirPlay-enabled speakers or receivers

  • My wifi continually drops out - it is not a router problem as other laptops and smartphones in the house have no problem. How can i fix this???

Can anyone help with this....I purchased a macbook pro 13" in Sep 2011 and since purchase, have had continual problems with internet dropping out. I have other wireless products in the house eg laptops, smartphones, and ipods and these all operate without issue. Thw wifi on the macbook will work at start up for a few minutes then drop out, I then turn ot back on and after a few more minutes it will drop out again - hugely frustrating.

since purchase, have had continual problems
Why didn't you call Apple tech support?  You are still under warranty.
Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.

  • IPad WiFi/3G dropping WiFi connection when sleeping

Just recently, my IPad just started dropping it's wifi connection when it goes ton sleep, and it isn't automatically reconnecting. This is my home network, and previously it did reconnect on wake. I have open preferences and manually reconnect every time I wake the iPad.

Ok. I am surprised I haven't heard this from you smart people:
*The wifi problems are specific to certain types of routers!!!*
Example: My Pad works like a champ at work. The router there is an old Linksys G.
It works like crap at home. At home I have a newer Belkin N/G.
That's why some people have problems and some don't: It depends on the router.
So...My question is: What is the best router for an iPad?
I'm willing to go out an buy it; I just want someone to tell me the best one!!
Is it really necessary to spam so many threads with this?

  • TS3899 I still can not send email from my ipad but iPhone works on those accounts

I still can not send email from my .mac account or a .comcast.net from my ipad. I how 2 people so far that has brought to my attention. We have exchange accounts setup on the ipads for work. I compare the settings from iPad to iPhone from my view it appears identical. I am looking at an iPad 2 and a Mini.
I turned on and off the ipads and nothing really changed. The emails come into those accounts.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

When you say you can't send...as in they never get the email?  Does the email appear to send?  Error message?  When?
It may be more than one iPad that has a problem....

  • No connection with iPad but iPhone works? Express network is found

It finds The express but not The network

OK, this confirms that you have an iPad issue and not an AirPort Express issue.
Although this is not a support area for the iPad, we will try a few things....
    On the iPad home screen
    Tap Settings
    Tap Wi-Fi
Tap on the blue arrow next to your network name
    Tap Forget This Network
Then try to log on with the iPad again

  • I have a MacBookPro running 10.6.8. I use Bluetooth to link to devices including keyboard and magic trackpad. I bought a Bose Wave III stereo and a bluetooth device. No problem with iPhone, iPad, wife's MacBook. Not working for me. Thoughts?

I keep receiving an errror message that "there was an error with the device." I use bluetooth for all sorts of things, no problem. Anyone have any suggestions?Because the stereo is connecting no problem to every other device, I'm assuming there's an issue between my laptop and the stereo. Thanks.

Apple might fix the problem with SL; they did release the 10.6.8 Supplemental Update, which fixed an HDMI problem. So we might get a fix.
Don't know if this problem affects Lion. I haven't read much about it, since I'm not upgrading for another few months.

  • IPad wifi connection drops - have tried evereything - any other suggestions

    Hi all,
I'm experiencing the connectivity issue with my iPad whereby randomly it will stop transmitting data (ie cant go on the Internet). The Wifi symbol is till shown, but there is no data throughput whatsoever. To fix, I have to turn off the wifi on the iPad and turn it on again.
There doesn't seem to be any consistency to when this happens. It isn't related to coming out of sleep or the type of apps I am running. sometimes it will happen in quick succession, other times it won't happen for a few hours or maybe until the next day.
There are two iPhones, a Mac mini and and Vista laptop on the same network and none of them experience this problem. The router is a Sky broadband wireless router. It is set to WPA security.
    I have tried:
    - upgrading to firmware 3.2.2 and doing a restore
    - resetting network settings on iPad
    - restarting router
    - changing channel of router (have tried 4 different channels so far)
    - switching router from mixed (b/g) mode to just g
    - forgetting network and reconnecting on iPad
    - moving closer to router
    - disabling auto-brightness
    - setting brightness to maximum
    - changing DNS on iPad
I have also tried most tips on this page with no joy:
    http://appletoolbox.com/2010/04/special-report-fixing-ipad-wi-fi-issues/
It just seems like nothing is going to work, and I am considering returning this to Apple in the hope of either a replacement or a fix. This problem is really annoying and clearly and issue with the iPad as many other devices have no problems. Even if a replacement router may fix this, clearly the iPad is at fault here.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? If not, what do you think will happen if I take this back to Apple? Perhaps I can get a guarantee that they'll swap it with the next-gen iPad when it comes out?
Looking forward to your advice, thanks for reading.

I don't have any real words of help except to say I went through something similar with an iMac. It would drop and pick up the wireless signal repeatedly but often sat there unable to connect. That was solved by something weird, like turning off the "show on screen" option for the airport wireless signal. I don't think you can alter that setting on the iPad though. My point is, if this was a problem out of the box I could see it being the iPad and that maybe getting a replacement unit would work (my wife recently bought a cheap B&N reader that would not access the wireless network, replaced it and everything worked). But if this is a problem that developed over time or just started out of the blue, then maybe it is a corrupted file or something that could be fixed with reinstalling the system. I know when you sync an iPod and iPhone with iTunes you have the option of wiping everything and reinstalling, so I am assuming it's an option for the iPad too. If you haven't tried reinstalling, perhaps that can be a next step.
    Good luck!
    Good luck!
    P.S.

  • Ipad cannot see airprint but iphone can

I have a Epson WF-2540 airprinter which I can see and print with from the iphone and one Ipad but not the second Ipad. Frustrating.
    Thanks, John

Interesting.  First, are you sure all the devices are on WiFi, and on the same network?
    Next, here's an idea:
There is an app in the App Store that I recommend you get.  It's called Epson iPrint.  Several things would be interesting here:
    1.  Does iPrint see your Epson printer from the iPad that AirPrint is not working with?  That would be interesting if it did, though frankly I don't know what to recommend if it does.
    2.  From the iPhone or iPad that does see the Epson, open Epson iPrint, and go to Maintenance (Lower left) > Printer Settings > Firmware Update
See if your printer needs a firmware update.  You can determine this and indeed update the firmware right from the iPrint utility.

  • Remote app for iPad Wont show songs but iPhone Will

    Hi All
I have a Strange problem with airport Express and airtunes
From my iPad 4.2.1 running Remote app for iPad if i search for an artist, like Gary Moore, it shows the artist name, but when i Press the name it doesnt display the songs with this artist, it says no songs found.
But if i use the same app on both my iPhone 4 and my iPod touch, and do the same search and Press the artist name, it shows All the songs that i have with this artist
Both the iPad and the iPhone connects to the same airtunes library, on the same machine with iTunes 10.1?
Does anybody have any ideas of what is wrong
I have tried to reinstall the app on the iPad, but that diednt work, i have tried to delete the library on the iPad with no luck

mac mini   Mac OS X (10.6.3)

I know this is an old question, but I had the same problem and found the solution somewhere else and thought I'd post it here as this thread comes up when googling for the answer.
It appears as though any songs without an "Album" don't appear. In iTunes select all songs without an album, right click and select "Get Info" and give them an Album name (e.g. "Unknown" or "Singles"). This might also apply to songs without other tags.
