IPad will connect to PC but will not turn on
Hello,
I have a 64GB 3rd Generation iPad that suddenly decided to not turn on anymore. I charged it last night as I always do and today when I tried using it, nothing. I thought maybe it just didn't get charged, but no it does absolutely nothing, even trying the recovery mode (Power Button + Home Button for 10+ Seconds)
The strange thing is when I plug it into my computer it detects it. I tried using it with iTunes, but since I've never used it on this computer it just hangs at the "To allow access, please respond on your iPad..." which I cannot do.
This iPad has a lot of important data and work I have stored on it, which not all of it is stored on the iCloud. I'm assuming that the screen has gone bad, but I don't hear any sound either so it could be worse.
Please if anyone has any ideas please share, I'm up for trying anything at this point.
If charging failed and the battery drained completely it may take up to 30 minutes before the iPad responds. Try a different known good charger and cable. Charge for 30 minutes then while still plugged into the charger, reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot. If it starts you can suspect there is something wrong with your old cable and/or charger. If the iPad still does not charge inspect the connection ports for dirt, lint or fuzz that may be preventing a good connection for charging. If the posts look clear Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

My third gen iPad will not turn on.
I tried to reset, and the apple icon appears, but it will not load.
I attempted to restore it through iTunes, but it could not recognize it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Of course, it is out of warranty. What to Do When Your iPad Won't Turn On

First off my ipad will not turn on by pushing the start button. when plug up and after touching setting,wi-fi on the left says not connected
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

my ipad will not turn on after using it earlier today has anyone else had this problem?
If you have juice left in the battery, Reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (hold past the swipe to shut down bar) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. It's safe and you won't lose any data.

My ipad will not turn on/charge. has been charging for hours. Itunes will not recognize it and i have tried the power/sleep button as well. PLEASE HELP!
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -

My ipad will not turn on - screen is dark blue
My ipad will not turn on - I have shut it off many times, hooked it up to my computer and updated. The screen appears a dark blue (almost black) when I push home button - I tried to slide to open it and it doesn't open. What should I do?

Ipad will not turn off at all and it still has the buffering symbol
My iPad will not turn on or off. It has the buffering symbol and it has been buffering for hours. What do I do?
connect your ipad to itunes and just restore or update it
if that does not work put your ipad into DFU mode
here are some tips:_
Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.
You can search the Web for even deeper DFU Modes that can be achieved to avoid iTunes Errors, but these techniques cannot be discussed on Apple Supported Forums. -
My IPad will not turn on despite charging all night and all day. The Apple pops on but then shuts off again. It does this over and over. How can I fix this and get it up and running again?
Hey bellabeanbag,
Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines troubleshooting steps if your iPad is not responding:
iPad: Basic troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274
If iPad won't turn on, or the display stops responding
Follow these steps, testing after each:
1. Turn the iPad off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPad for a few seconds, until a red slider appears. Then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
2. Reset iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If iPad still won't respond after you restore it
Follow these steps, testing after each:
1. If you receive an alert in iTunes while restoring your iPad, refer to this article for instructions on how to resolve common issues with updating and restoring.
2. If you cannot restore your iPad in iTunes, or if iTunes does not recognize the device, refer to this article for instructions on restoring using recovery mode.
Thanks,

My iPad will not turn on. I have done everything I can think of
My iPad will not turn on. I have used the charger that came with it an iPad iHome dock and another iPad charger that goes with another iPadit has been on one charger or another for 2 days. I have done a hard reset and even put it in recovery mode and was able to do a restore but it will only show dead battery logo or charging. Any ideas?
Also I was not having any battery problems before this. It would last all day with a generous amount of use.

My iPad will not turn on at all, any suggestions??
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
