Ipad will I have to upgrade my plan

If I purchase an Ipad will it change my plan at all. I still have the free data plan and do not want to upgrad

Hey Sherriakucera, the iPad is a great device and if you do decide to purchase it I know that you'll enjoy it.
If you purchase an iPad, you can purchase one that is WiFi only so you wouldn't have to have a data plan attached to it.  You would only be able to connect to WiFi though and not the Verizon data network.
To answer which data plan, I would need to know which calling plan are you on right now.  Please reply with the current plan you are on and we can better answer your question.

will i have problem upgrading from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Maverick ?

Impossible to know. But I would make a backup before doing so, just in case. I would also do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If you wish to save yourself a lot time should you need to reinstall Mavericks at some point in the future then see the following:
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this entire command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
         sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
         /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time. When completed it would be wise to test the installer by checking that it boots the computer and is then ready for installation.

If we look to upgrade our instance from current 11.5.10.2 to R12, will we have to upgrade our database as well and any related hardware in terms of space or version?

No - Office 2008 works fine in Lion.

  • If I reset my iPad will my iOS 5 upgrade to iOS 6?

Hi! In settings-general there is reset. If I reset my iPad 3 will my iOs 5 upgrade to iOS 6 or upgrading can be done only through Software Update? Thanks.

A reset has nothing to do with the software. Reset is holding down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple and letting it reboot. It's nothing but a general refresh for the device. The iPad eqivalent of 'control/alt/delete' to get out of a glitch.
It's useful if an app hangs or glitches. It doesn't touch the content or software at all.

  • Will I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to run Lion?

I'm running on 10.5.8 at the moment on my Macbook Pro ... it looks like my specs will work, but will I have to buy Snow Leopard in order to run Lion, since I don't have the app store? There seemed to be no point to upgrade 2x and spend the money for it if I don't need to.

    Here's the Lion requirements. http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/07/mac-os-x-10-7-lion-system-requirements/
    Look at this listing. http://www.everymac.com/systems/by_capability/maximum-macos-supported.html

  • Do I have to upgrade data plan?

I have a blackberry with the unlimited data plan and I want to upgrade to a 4G phone. I just wanted to know do I keep my unlimited data plan when I upgrade to a 4G phone or do I have to changed to another data plan?

Since you currently have a smartphone unlimited data plan, you will be grandfathered when you upgrade to another smartphone, including 4G phones.  You'll be able to keep your current plan.

  • WIll i have to choose a texting plan?

I don't have a data plan on my phone but I do have unlimited texting. Will I have to choose the plan when ordering the iphone or can I pass it?

    NO NO NO!
You DO NOT need a texting 'plan'. If you do not select a plan for text messages, your account will simply be billed "pay as you go" for texts. You will pay per text message sent/received, rather than having a set plan. If you're not a texter, then simply select this 'plan', and you won't have to pay any texting charges. A data plan is required as it is a smartphone (all Verizon smartphones require a data plan) but a texting plan is completely optional.
If you read the OP's ORIGINAL question, they state that they already HAVE unlimited texting but, NO data. One would assume he/she wants to keep unlimted texting and is asking if they can drop it since they are now getting a unlimited data plan.
If they do not want a texting plan, then of course you can remove it but of course you will pay per text. Nobody is forced to take a texting plan.
Assuming someone HAS unlimited texting already leads me to believe that they do quite a bit of texting. SO the answer would be unless you want to pay insane amounts in pay-per-text texting fees then keep your texting plan, unlimited data will not replace it.
And if they are asking if they simply need to add texting again during the order process- the answer would be no. The only thing you would have to add is unlimited data.
And while we're at it, if you feel like you are paying too much for unlimited texting you can always drop it to a lower cost texting plan.
That should cover just about everything.

  • I have upgraded Tiger to Snow Leopard to restore MacbookPro for space will i have to re-upgrage

I have recently upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard, however I wish to restore my MacBookPro . When it restores, will I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard again? Hope this make Sense

If you use the original installation disks which shipped with your computer, then it will install Tiger (10.4). However, if you use your Snow Leopard disk and do a clean install it will put you at 10.6.0 or 10.6.3 (depending when the disk was purchased, then simply use Software Update to update to the latest copy of Snow Leopard. Using the SL disk you can completely wipe your MBP and freshly install a copy of SL.

  • Vacationing in Canada, will I lose unlimited US data plan?

I currently have the unlimited data plan on a US iPad; I got it before they discontinued offering it to new subscribers.  If I go to Canada and activate a new SIM in my iPad, will it deactivate my unlimited US plan?  And will I have to reactivate on a limited plan?
    Thanks,
    dc

I see no way the US carrier would know that you had used another carrier's microSIM, unless you told them. So I believe that the answer is no, it should not effect your plan in the US. As far as the US carrier, I assume AT&T, since Verizon has no SIMs, they will just see a lapse in use for the time that you are away.

  • I have the Cs5 student Edition of Adobe Web and design, do I have to upgrade to a full?

I'm close to graduating and I plan on getting CS6 before I graduate so I can get a student discount, but will I have to upgrade to a full verson of the sofeware once I gradate? If so how much is that going to cost? Will I be able to use the CS6 student for commercal use so I can work at a job/office? Can you please tell me? I really need to know this!

You can continue to use your Student Edition after your graduation for any legal purpose. As a student you can purchase a new version of CS 6 Student programs. There is no upgrade from one student edition to another. You can of course, upgrade a student version to a non-student version, but the cost for doing so is ussually much more expensive than a new student version, so take advantage of your student status while you can.

I have a "company provided Ipad" now using IOS 6.1.3.  the company Will allow me to upgrade to IOS 7 but not to IOS 8.  Is that possible?

No, since the iPad 2 is iOS 8 compatible it can only be updated to iOS 8.  Apple does not support upgrading to interim iOS versions, and removes those files from the servers when a new version is released.  The only path for that iPad 2 is iOS 8.0.2.

I have an ipad2 with wifi and 3G.  My wife and I are traveling in France (Nice) then into Italy.  We are unable to purchase a data plan because our Verizon IPad will not accept a sim chip...we are told.  An Apple store employee here said this model is good only in the US. The iPads here take a sim card. We were advised by an Apple Store Employee at home that this model would work in Europe and that we could buy our service here.  That does not seem to be the case.    We have been told that we must invest in a modem at 200.00€ and then purchase a separate service plan for each country. We can use the free wifi wherever it is available but we cannot connect to the outside world when out of range. Is there anything else we can do?
    Thanks, John

Unfortunately, no other solution is available.
    Hope this helps
