IPad will not connect to iTunes on migrated iMac

I migrated my old iMac to a new iMac.
My iPad will not connect to iTunes on the new iMac...     "does not have permission"
How do I get my iPad to be recognized/associated/sync'd/etc. with iTunes on my new iMac?

I assume so. I think the Migration Assistant copies everything from the old Mac to the new Mac. I have an iTunes folder in my home directory. It contains files:  iTunes library extras, iTunes library genius, iTunes music library - and folders: album artwork, iTunes music, mobile applications, and previous iTunes libraries.
When I connect my iPad, the iPad icon does not show in the left column, and I get a message "iTunes could not connect to thid iPad. You do not have permission."
FYI, I had no problem syncing my iPhone to iTunes on the new machine.

iTunes and the App Store are two different apps/stores. I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. If you want to buy apps - go to the app store. If you want to but media - music, movies, TV shows - go to iTunes.

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • IPad will not connect to iTunes without password, but screen inoperable

After an attempted software update, the iPad will not connect to iTunes because it is password locked. But eh screen does not allow me to input the password. This is not a jailbroken iPad, but I did get a message on it that my "iPhone cannot send or receive calls without resetting."  This is why I tried to sync, etc.

    Try recovery mode.

You get this message in iTunes on your computer or on the iPad itself? Did you try quitting iTunes, and restart your computer?
I had paid for a game and the game will not let me play it now.
Not connecting to iTunes should have no bearing on not being able to use an app on your iPad - assuming that the app is actually on your iPad. What happens when you try to play the game? Did you try deleting it and reinstalling it? Did you restart your iPad or reboot the device?

  • IPad will not connect to server, iPhone and iMac connect just fine?

I've been getting "Safari cannot open page because it could not connect to the server" messages for a couple of hours now on my iPad 2.  Yet my iPhone and iMac using the same wireless router in my home work fine.  What could be wrong? Tried disconnecting and reconnecting wireless network on iPad.  No luck.

Just checked my husband's iPad air.  His connects to the server!

  • Ipad will not connect to Itunes asks me to update which Cannot

    Hi
I recently plugged in ipad to my Macbook pro 3.1 (2007) running 10.8.2 - and get message cannot use ipad as need to update to Itunes 11.1 -
however this I cannot do - I tried 3 update to Mavericks , update just itunes and just yesterday again updated Itunes and these all FREEZE computer totally , I spent Days trying to work out what Caused the Freeze and trying every fix out there and only thing worked was Format HDD and install from Backup (timemachine or cloned HDD i have Backups) .
So the Computer Freezes Immediately After Startup in normal and safe mode if I put on Mavericks and OR itunes higher then what I got now (11.02 )
Now this is not a Problem for the computer - just turn off updates and I am happy , But now cannot use ipad , I have music , books, lots stuff sync from itunes .
Does anyone know how I can use Ipad3 (fully updated )  -with Itunes without updating Itunes - or maybe roll back Ipad system so can use ??
I had a google but could not find answer - everyone says update itunes on Computer which is one thing I cannot do .
So either I need to do a Update to Mavericks or just Itunes or something so can use ipad again ?
Any ideas appriciated as i cannot be only person with this Problem as Computer freezing with new itunes common ??
    Thanks Mark

    Hi Alfred
    thanks for the reply ,
HDD capacity is fine have a 1TB inside and has about 500GB free space - so that should not be a problem .
Seem's that the new Itunes causes a lot of freezing problems which i think is my problem , as Mavericks has the new itunes in - hence freezes computer - or just a Itunes update also freezes computer ?? I have spent days and days trying to fix the computer freezing with no luck - so rolled back to the 10.8.2 I had on a back up and that works fine and turned off an more updates ..
But because of this cannot use itunes and I need to to connect to the ipad - so any suggestions appriciated
    Cheers Mark

  • After trying to down ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes.  The only display I will get is the apple logo, or low battery warning.

After trying to download ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes.  Sometimes, screen will switch from Apple logo to low battery notification, but doesn't look as if battery is charging.

Connect with cable to computer.   Your ipad is in recovery mode.

    Hi,
    Thanks.
I have tried signing out and in, still does not work.
Still just get the previously mentioned "messages".
I wanted to restore, but then you have to turn off "find my ipad/iphone" but this is not allowed, as I cannot connect to the itunes/icloud or app store. The units work with current apps. EG; email etc, and with apps that do not require current updates.
    Thanks

  • Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes

Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes to do a restore.  I have tried to do a reset using the sleep button and home key and all I get is a white band across the screen and then it boots into the main system but it is just a series of white lines going across the screen, how can I do a restore on this?

    Hey dbwithers,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPad after attempting to update to iOS 8. To isolate these issues, let’s try placing your iPad in recovery mode and attempting a restore with iTunes:

  • IPad will not connect to pc or iTunes, I get a double ping when I connect the USB cable

My iPad will not connect to either my PC or iTunes. When I plug in the USB cable I get a double ping from the PC. Any Suggestions?

I have never heard of this "double ping" issue in the before. You say it is coming from the PC so maybe it is a USB problem on the computer. I assume that you have tried another USB port on the PC. You could also try another computer that is running iTunes and see what happens.
I am not a PC user, so the only other thing I can offer is a link to the Apple support site for an iOS device not being recognized in iTunes for Windows.

  • Like many others my Ipad 3 will not connect to Itunes

I have uninstalled Itunes, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple services. The device is visable in Device manager but it will not connect to Itunes. My Iphone 5 works correctly. Any Ideas out there?

This is about iTunes on a Windows 8.1 workstation. 16GB RAM, High end AMD processor, Blah, Blah...
Pluging the IPad in is recognized by the PC. There is the sound and the iPad appears in Device manager. It behaves as expected when unlugged. But Itunes (Latest) is unresponsive to it. As stated above my Iphone behaves just as it should so the services are operational. If I plug it into another PC it works just fine.
