IPad will not load past Apple Logo

My iPad froze, so I rebooted it by holding the home and power button for 10 seconds. Now, it won't even load past the Apple logo. Please help me!

If the reset don't work then I think that you may need to contact Apple

  • HT201263 None of these answers help my problem.  My ipad will not leave the Apple logo.  I hold both buttons and the screen goes black, then the apple logo immediately pops back up.  I can't do anything because the apple logo just keeps popping back on.

I haven't been able to find any answers that solve my problem.  My Ipad will not leave the Apple logo.  I hold both buttons and the screen goes black and then the Apple logo immediately pops back up.  I can't get the red slider screen at all.  No matter how many times I hold down both buttons the screen goes black and then the Apple logo pops right back on.

Before you do anything else, try charging via a wall outlet for a while, since its off. Then try turning it back on.
When you put the device into recovery mode it allows you to restore the device when no other options work. You do risk losing everything currently strored on the ipad itself. Hopefully you've performed regular backups either via itunes, icloud or both. Evern if you have synced content to either of those, you may not lose everything. All previous purchases have been saved in the itunes and app stores, so you can dowload them again.
while the ipad is off, press and hold the home button and plug the usb cord into the ipad. You should see a message pop up on the itunes window on your compoter screen that state it has discoverd an ipad in recovery mode.
You should now be able to restore

It is hard to give accurate help without knowing exactlly which iMac you have or what OS X it is on.
At this point I can only suggest, starting up from either the OS X or Tiger copies that you have and see if you can Repair your (Macintosh HD) Startup Disk.
If the copies of OS X or Tiger are good, then you should be able to startup from one of them holding the C or Option key, navigate to Disk Utility and Repair your Startup Disk.
Start from your Mac OS X Install disc: Insert the installation disc, then restart the computer while holding the C or Option key.
When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    Click the First Aid tab.
Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
Select your Mac OS X volume.
Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
If you can not startup from any of the discs that you have (OS X Tiger or Disk Warrior) to make repairs, then your only choices are to seek help from either your friend or an Authorized Apple Service Provider.

  • Macbook Pro will not boot past apple logo/spinning gear

Earlier this evening I was installing the aperture 3.0.2 and iMovie 8.0.6 updates onto my MBP and the system refused to install the Aperture update so I decided to shut down and restart the mac and when I saw the familiar Apple logo spinning I was distraught to see it would go no further. I then did what ay learned apple user would do and reset the PRAM and let it chime 4 times, just to be safe, and I restarted holding shift - the grey bar finished but it still would not load. I luckily have a Carbon Copy Clone of an old hard drive for this machine before I upgraded (much too outdated to copy back over - I would lose Final Cut Studio 3 and Aperture 3 etc...) which I was successful in booting into (and am using now) to do a disk utility > repair permission and repair disk. Both had no errors and I was sincerely confused. I attempted to boot it once more before I started to freak out. Needless to say I freaked out. I booted in single user mode and ran the checkdisk within that TWICE before typing exit and it did the rest of the verbose boot which then hung on "AirPort: RSN handshake complete on en1" This is the end of what I know to do - so with that I hand it off to you... any help is appreciated a and will definitely be attempted.

The drive had over 350GB available. Yes I suppose I would be able to but I am unable to locate one. If someone is certain a OS replacement install would fix things I am willing to go buy one...

  • Imac will not boot past Apple Logo

My imac will not boot after the good chime and apple logo (i don't even get a spinning wheel).  I have held the option key down and selected the OS 10.6 disk with the same result.   I was able to erase the drive and reinstall OS 10.6 using target mode and another computer.  In target mode I can boot the other computer from the IMac HD but not the IMac.   Have also tried holding the shift key and booting into safe mode with the same result.  Additional note: I reset the PRAM and the SMU.  At first on PRAM reset it would take 45 seconds for the machine to chime again,  after OS reinstall and SMU reset, PRAM reset chimes within 10 seconds....  any help would be appreciated...

Kind of late but your solution helped me remember what once worked for me, a few years back.
Started iMAC in Target mode Used a firewire cable to a MacBook Pro
Started the Macbook Pro using the option Key and then restarted with the iMac as the Hard drive
Then I updated to 10.6.8 and allof the other updates.
shut down and rebooted and everything was fine.
But first I did quite a few other things before the update such as
It all started with a DiskWarrior finding overlapped files, I have been around the block a time or two so after it found three overlapped files, I shut down diskwarrior started up disk utility did a restore of the messed up drive to another external drive,
of course this copied overlapped files and all to the new external drive It took 24 huors or so, to back up the drive once it was done, I also tried a few times to correct the overlapped files to no avail,
so then I started the iMac up in target mode used the MacBook to format and erase the original drive, used the 10.6.3 DVD installer to install onto the hard drive, using the macBook DVD. After I was finished with the install to the iMAC,,,,,,,,,,this is where I got the three beeps like bad ram So idid the PRAM and SMC to no avail.
The operating system was evidently not new enough so once I did what i said at the begining of this post all went well.
Sometimes It is tough to remember some of the stuff that you learned several years ago.
    and tired hard to forget.
I hoped this post does not scare away to many people, I was just about done with this computer until I read your post, one of several dozen, and it all came back to me.
    Thanks a Bunch
I hope this can help others

  • HT1414 My iPad will not progress past the home screen. My computer will not let me back it up. What can I do?

My iPad will not progress past the home screen, and my computer doesn't allow me to download my data from it. What do I do? I wanted to try to restore it, but I don't want to lose my "stuff".

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose your "stuff" with Recovery Mode.

  • Windows XP, will not load past blue error screen

Hi, been wondering for a while if anyone can help me...
My xp system will not load past the blue error screen which appears after the computer has shut down suddenly or improperly.
Regardless of what actions you choose to take (safe mode, most recent settings...etc) the system simply goes past the blue screen, onto the windows logo loading page, where the loading bar moves for around 10 seconds, before returning back to the blue loading page.
So far I have tried leaving the computer for as long as a month unused whilst I was abroad, removing the battery for various amounts of time, and leaving the computer running for as long as a day.
In the absence of a recovery disk, I have no idea how to get it back to form, and would welcome any hints or suggests, bearing in mind I am no computing genius (If you had'nt guessed). Preferably, without loosing my irreplacable pictures and videos stored on the hard drive, however that is only preferably,
    Thanks, Jay

    Hi Jay,
i know what it's like to not able to boot even into safe mode command prompt.
In your case I would do either of below:
Download a bootable CD ISO called "HDD Regenerator" or [Hiren's BootCD|www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd] which includes many other great tools. Burn the ISO image onto CDR.
    1. Use the HDD Regenerator to boot the PC and use it to scan the whole HardDrive from 0, it will scan and fix all the bad sectors which may cause Windows failing to boot as systems files are corrupted. You will be suprise how great this tool can fix bad sector HDs.
    2. If above does not work, the the Hiren's BootCD to boot the PC, navigate to Symantec Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to Clone you hard drive, you can use USB external harddrives.
Then you can rebuild the PC with second partition large enough to store the HardDisk-IMAGE, use Ghost Explorer/etc to restore your personal files.
I have been dealing with lots of this issues as well. Let me know if you need more help.
    Good luck!
    Patrick

  • HT1369 my iphone 4 will not turn on apple logo just flashes

my iphone 4 will not turn on apple logo just flashes

    Hey laysams64,
I would follow these troubleshooting steps:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • My iMac will not boot past the logo and spinning gear

My iMac will not boot past the logo and spinning gear (After a Rogue Amoeba update). I can't access the recovery disk I made on a flash drive. (Am I doing it correctly? - Hold down option while switching on? It just stays on the logo). What (if anything) can I do please?

If you installed Lion onto your machine, it should have created a Recovery HD (hidden from view, but visible in Disk Utility with its Debug menu enabled, under Show all Partitions).
    That article states:
Note: In order to create an external Lion Recovery using the Lion Recovery Assistant, the Mac must have an existing Recovery HD.
Would I see the recovery menu (by holding down option on power up)
    Yes.
if there was no recovery disc connected do you think?
Shouldn't matter, since your int HD is always connected.
