IPad Will Not Recieve E-Mail
I have my fathers iPad 4 Retina, and it will not recieve E-Mail from other senders, but when he sends himself an E-Mail through his other computer (the computer and the iPad are using the same email to recieve on both devices) the E-Mail will come through when he sends it to himself, but not from other senders.

I forgot to add the rest... I would like to resolve this issue, also they will come through on his computer, but not his iPad. The only time his iPad will recieve E-Mail, is when he sends it to himself through his computer.

Where does one begin when you ask a question like that and provide no details whatsoever? Do you have an email account setup on the iPad? If so, have you ever been able to send or receive emails in the past? Can you open the mail app???????
Assuming that you do have an email account set up on the iPad and that it was working properly at one time, close the mail app completely and then reboot the iPad.
From your home screen .... Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
IPad will not send exchange mail
I can connect, receive mail, contacts and calendar fine. Mail "seems" to send, appears in sent folder, but does not send. This seems to be a common complaint. Ability to send had been ok, now not. Reset device, removed re added account. Suggestions?

they do show on webmail
is this in thunderbird settingsDo you have Pop or IMAP mail account?
Is it a gmail account?

My ipad will not connect tot he server when trying to access my mail. This has been happening since last Sunday. Some have said it is due to the latest software update. I am able to connect to the internet.
I am not having this issue on iPhone.
I checked all the settings, the wireless router in my house and at work.
I have completed a hard reset of the device.
I had our IT guy at work look at it.
He said to contact Apple....
Any thoughts?

My iPhone (and iPad) will receive .msn e-mails but will not allow me to respond or forward, giving an error message that says the username or password are incorrect for the SMTP, but the same configuration allows me to receive AND send from my MacBook - what can I do to correct this?

Or ... Quit the mail app completely and relaunch mai. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Launch the mail app. -
ipad will not load any new emails. i have one through outlook and one gmail. neither will load anything new.
Do you have a wifi or 3 g connection?
Did it used to work? What does the mail app do when you open it? Is there the little circle at the bottom, checking for new mail.
Have you checked the accounts from safari, or a computer, to see if it is an ISP problem? -
ICloud Launch will not download my " Mail, Contacts, Calander & Tasks. It just says there is an error. Nothing about how to fix.

Yes - I had my old email address in Mac Mail
So I have moved ALL my mail into On-my-Mac for safekeeping
Then I deleted that account from Mac Mail
I then tried - once more - with Preferences>iCloud to get my MobileMe address onto iCloud
and got the following....
So that does not help
Back to Mac Mail and re-install my old account and it looks like this
So its an iCloud account .... ? and [email protected] is my old mobile.me address
So why can I not access it from my iPad, which now wants me to "Create a free @me.com email address to turn on iCloud Mail". If I do that, how do I get my old @me address working on the iPad.
Really Apple has not excelled itself with this migration...

I'm having the exact same problem on my iMac. I can receive email from imap.mail.yahoo.com, but cannot receive from smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I have not changed these settings in years and as of a few days ago they stopped working. These settings work fine on my iPhone and iPad.
So far I have:
-Deleted accounts and reestablished them
-Deleted the Mail preference file ->com.apple.mail.plist -
