IPAD  WITH DISPLAY RETINA 32 GB  WIFI+CELLULAR

HI,
I'm not an expert with ipads so i would like to know if i buy in the usa an ipad with display retina 32gb wifi+cellular, will the cellular option work in Italy because i'm gonna use it there.

Hello razmee209.  Thank you for your response.  I spent the better part of yesterday working with Apple Support.  They tried their best, to include backing up photos to my HP laptop, backing up the iPad to iCloud, then resetting the iPad in total.  Same problem.  I restored from the cloud to recover my apps, same problem.
AT&T installed a new sim card - same problem.  I spent time with AT&T Support yesterday, too.  In both cases, (Apple and AT&T) the support techs who worked with me were extremely polite, courteous and helpful to the best of their abilities, but I think the problem lies deeper, and nobody at Apple is admitting they have a problem with iOS 8, that I'm aware of.
I didn't have this issue before I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2.
Everything else with the iPad works fine:  WIFI, Personal Hotspot, email, all my apps, etc.
In browsing the web for this issue I see that many other folks have the same problem.  I filed a report with Apple this morning, requesting that they contact me, but no word yet.  I was going to go to iPhone 6, and had been considering the iPad Air 2, but I see reports of this problem with those units as well.
At this point I don't think I'll be spending any more money with Apple, at least not till this issue is resolved.
Thanks again for your response and suggestions.

Do you clean your iPad screen?  Do not use standard window cleaners, with ammonia or alcohol, like Windex, but a damp towel, followed by a micro-fibre cloth is recommended.  There are also cleaners you can buy which are specifically designed for iPad/iPhone devices, such as iClean from Monster.

  • IPAD 6.0 (MD519C/A) wifi,cellular - how good is this model?

I would like to buy Apple iPad with Retina display (MD519C/A), 16GB, WiFi, Cellular 4G, White from Staples.ca. I would like to know if anyone has used this model and how good is this. Also, whether it's unlocked or not? I want to send the ipad to Bangladesh and the customer representative at Staples was not sure whether that is unlocked or not. I would like to know if it would work there.
I have pasted the URL for this ipad. Thank you.

Without checking myself, just be aware that the iPad OS generally only provides error signals that are relevant. It wouldn't seem relevant to report on a missing SIM with Cellular turned off, and I'd therefore expect that you wouldn't see that message after having done so.
Don't turn on Airplane Mode, however (that's what's shown by the "little airplace icon") as that also shuts down your wifi.
And yes, with Cellular off it just says "iPad" there on the status bar, exactly as described in your User's Guide and other locations.

  • My camera on my latest generation IPAD with Retina 128GB is not allowing my camera to flip, away from me. It is a dark screen when I'm trying to take a picture. I've only had it literally 2 days. Any suggestions on solving this.

My I pad with Retina and wifi+cellular will no longer allow my camera to flip away and take photos. I've reset settings and it still will not allow me. Before I went to bed it worked. It now only shows a black screen like there is a cover on it. Any suggestions?

I don't think you are alone, I cannot advise but I am having the same issue and have posted here:

I suspect it's to do with IOS7 but not everyone is affected, mine was working before. I have read on some forums that Apple have just replaced the iPad as they have not been able to resolve the issue. If yours is new I would take it back and ask to try another with IOS7 installed before swapping.

  • IPad with Cellular Connectivity

I am subscribed to a Telstra ADSL/2 Service. I have a first generation iPad with both Wi-Fi and Cellular capabilities. This device has some limitations for example iView [ABC] won't run because the application is not backwardly compatible with that devices iOS. Since retiring I hardly ever use the cellular capability when out and about. In fact I have only charged the sim card when I was using the device whilst away on holiday. I am not sure that the additional cost for cellular plus the sim card and a data plan to keep the service active warrants the expenditure. I am thinking of upgrading to an iPad Air 2 and would like crowdsupport subscribers views as to whether Cellular on this device was absolutely necessary for occasional remote access when a mature Telstra Air Network is  available?

Hi there Ant, well I can rerlate exactly to what you are asking and stating there. Like you I have a tablet which has both sim and wifi conectability and it's rare that i would use the sim connection. I look at it this way, with all the WiFi Hotspots that are around and growing (Telstra Air and others) you'll more often than not find something to wifi with. If you can't and you are desperate and have a mobile phone, just use that as a personal WiFi hotspot, tether. So yes you could save on the sim expense. The other thought bubble is, if for instance you were going away say for a month or what ever, you could always just get a cheap pre-paid to use during that period.

No one from Apple here - this is a user-to-user forum for the Apple Thunderbolt Display. If you don't like your iPad, sell it.

  • New iPad Mini with Retina - Wifi+Cellular causing problems.

Bought an iPad Mini with Retina - Wifi+Cellular last month.
It is lagging now. Animation during opening of minimized apps, scrolling and games are lagging. Took it to the service center, they said its an OS issue. I am using iOS 7.0.4. Please advice me what to do and will there be any updates soon from Apple for iOS 7? Will the problems be solved after update?

Do yourself a favor and search the forums on this topic. Many people ask this daily and always get the same answer. Probably, but...
Check that the LTE frequencies match your operator.
Understand and accept the fact that if anything goes wrong, the warranty is good only in the US. Apple will not fix it for you in India (or anywhere else for that matter). You will need to physically get it back to the US as Apple does not accept shipped iDevices.
You will also see that many people run into these issues and then are angry that their iDevices don't work or won't be repaired by Apple. If you're ok with accepting the risks, then it will likely be ok.

  • Apple iPad with Retina display Wi-Fi + Cellular 32 GB - 4th generation

Can the 4th generation iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular be used as a mobile hotspot in another country, specifically Dominican Republic; or is a separate Verizon device needed?

It is not neccessary to plug the iPad into a computer to set it up or to updrage to 6.0.1. All you need is a Wifi connection. In fact, my 3rd gen has never been synched with a computer. If you choose not you, you will want to make sure you have icloud set up and are doing periodic back ups to it.
Whether or not you will need to synch with iTunes depends on the nature of the content you have and how you use the iPad (and what cloud based services you use). If all of your media purchases are from itunes, you can simply download them directly to the iPad. If you have content from other sources, ripped CD's for example, you will want to synch to get those on the iPad. The synching process is not that different from what you are doing with your other devices.

  • Wifi does not work correctly on iPad Mini w/ Retina display

I've found that Wifi does not work properly on the iPad mini w/ Retina display.
Some background: I own three iPads (iPad mini w/ retina display, iPad mini, and iPad 3rd gen), an iPod touch 5th gen, and a Macbook Air, and use them all frequently with my pocket Wifi router.
None of them exhibit any Wifi problems whatsoever except for my iPad mini w/ retina display.
    Here are the details:
In the middle of using Wifi with my pocket Wifi router, the Wifi connection will abrubptly drop, then reconnect. After the Wifi reconnects, it is no longer able to connect to the internet (even though Wifi itself is connected).
Once the iPad mini w/ retina display's Wifi gets into this state, the following may or may not restore WiFi temporarily:
    Restart the device
    Reset network settings
Yet, even if connectevitiy is restored, the problem will happen again within minutes.
When the iPad mini w/ retina display gets into this state, the Wifi on my iPod touch, other iPads, and on my Macbook Air work perfectly fine, so I know the problem is not with my Wifi device or it's connection, but specifically with the iPad mini w/ retina display
    Note:
The iPad mini w/ retina display never has any issues with my home or work Wifi networks. The problem only happens when connected to my pocket Wifi device. Yet, all of my other iOS devices and my MacBook Air work perfectly with my pocket Wifi device, therefore I know the problem is not with the pocket Wifi device, but with the iPad mini with retina display.
    Solutions:
Resetting the iPad mini w/ retina display to factory settings does not solve the problem
Resetting network settings on the iPad mini w/ retina display does not solve the problem
I have even replaced my original iPad mini w/ retina and got a new one. Yet, the new device exhibits the exact same behavior as the original device.
    Conclusion:
I know this is not a hardware problem (since it happened with both my original as well as replacement device).
I know this is not a problem with my pocket WiFi router, since it works perfectly with all of my other iOS devices and MacBook Air.
Therefore, this must be a software / firmware bug with the iPad mini w/ retina display. Apple will need to fix this in a future software update.
Has anyone else seen this problem?

I too have experienced this issue over the past two days... I have a 16gb ipad mini retina, for reference. I bought the device one week ago, and had not experience any issues at all until bringing my device to work. I logged into my work's enterprise level wireless network both yesterday and today, maintained normal wifi capabilities for 2-4 hours each day, and was then randomly dropped, both days. I tried hard resets, resetting my network settings, airplane mode, etc. Nothing has worked. I am still offline on my ipad mini retina.
My iPhone 5 is sitting right next to my iPad mini retina. The iPhone is currently connected to the same very network, and has been for the past two years. I have never lost connection on my iPhone's wifi, just my iPad mini retina.
This must be some kind of bug, as it does not sound like a hardware nor network issue.
Hopefully they fix this in 7.1.
