IPad won't accept netgear router PIN number

Hi - I just intsalled new Netgear wn2000 router.  My ipad 1 will not accept the PIN number for logging onto the network.  My laptop took the number just fine.  The pin is 8 numbers and ive typed it in multiple times. I keep getting an "incorrect password" message.  My ipad is upto date on software and had no issues with my old dlink router.  Any ideas? The netgear websit has nothing.  I have reset my network settings on the iPad and it still wont take the number (yes, it is correct and was entered correctly).

Same thing happened to me. I followed advice from another post and it worked perfectly.
1. On Ipad go to: Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network and reset the network settings. Make sure the airport and Bluetooth settings are turned off.
2. Unplug your router for ~60 sec then plug back in.
3. Power off your Ipad completely and wait one minute, then power back on.
Followed these steps and once both the Ipad and router were powered back on, they could now recognize each other after the update. I went back into Settings to restyle the passcode, which offered the green-lighted "Join" tab and was accepted.

  • IOS 7 upgrade.  IPAD won't accept my router password now.

I have the latest IPAD. Version 6 worked fine with network connectivity.  No issues.
I upgraded to IOS 7 and it prompted me to enter my password.  But the "join" button wouldn't light up so I could go to the next step.  I put a space in and the join button lit up,   Looked like it wanted one more character in the password to work.
My router is old.  It is a Linksys WRT54GS.  I brought up the web administration panel (192.168.1.1/Manage.htm) and added one more character to the password.   I have the Linksys EasyLink Advisor and it shows the password is correct.   Once I changed the password, the web administration panel asked me to log in.  I typed the new password and it logged me back in.  So, I know this is the right one - 2 verifications.
The router SSID is showing as the default LINKSYS.  That name also shows up on the IPAD.  Also shows up with that name on my Wife's IPAD that still works (older model on Version 5 IOS).    On the EasyLink Advisor it shows up as +wlansetup.register+.  Don't know if that means anything.
I have the router set to WPA.  TKIP (whatever that means).   I have an encryption key I put in on my laptop but I guess the IPAD doesnt need it.....
I changed the Wireless Channel from 6 to 11.   Turned Airplane mode on and off.  Reset all of the settings on the IPAD.   Rebooted both the router and the computer.
Stuck now.   Does anyone have any ideas?   Thanks in advance!

My iPad won't accept new bookmarks in safari.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I bought a new Mac Pro and migrated my FCP from my old one. But the new old won't accept my product serial number. Help!

Was the FCS on your old machine an upgrade? You will need to enter your original, full version serial first, and then you will be prompted for the upgrade serial number.
    Hope this helps.

  • Aperture2 Upgrade won't accept 1.0 serial number

Aperture2 Upgrade won't accept 1.0 serial number. I've reentered it twice. I'm reading it directly from the original papers.

I had a similar experience and called Apple Tech Support. After spending 20 min on hold, I was told the Aperture 1.0 serial number was "fragged for abuse" and was tagged as invalid by Apple and that I could not upgrade. This is despite being able to register it when it was bought off Ebay 15 months ago and downloading all software updates thru 1.5.6 and using it for 15 months without a problem.
When I asked about getting a refund for the Aperture 2.0 Upgrade which would not install I spent 45 minutes getting the runaround from four separate "customer service" representatives. This included several, "I have to talk to my supervisor" moments, being bumped back to the initial telephone menu by one rep who could not connect me to someone who could help, and lots more hold time.
Eventually I was given a return authorization for the "Upgrade" and will get a refund on my $99 purchase. Initially they wanted to order the Full Aperture 2.0 Program for me and not refund my upgrade purchase, which meant I would pay $298 to run Aperture 2.0! I like Aperture, but not that much!!
My advice is to call tech support and give them the Aperture 1.0 serial number and see what they say when they run it through their system. If you purchased it from Apple you will probably be given another serial number to use to activate the upgrade, otherwise, like me you might be SOL.
One other piece of advice: backup your current Aperture Library BEFORE you install 2.0. I went to the local Apple Store, bought the full 2.0 Upgrade program (smiling the entire time, of course) and had the "creative", who I had an Aperture one-on-one appointment, with, install it, thinking he would know how to do it better than me. Wrong! He did not backup the library before installing it and the new program crashed each time as it was trying to load the old library. I eventually brought it home--unworking--deleted the old library on the hard drive and had to import the project files from backup DVD's I had burned.
Good luck and I hope you have an easier time than I did today trying to make Aperture 2.0 work...

  • My IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

my IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

Yes I have put in the correct password, its all numbers so can't get it wrong really.
It has connected before as has my iPod and that won't connect either. I have checked that they aren't on the blocked list of the wi fi. Managed to download the new version of iOS and that hasn't made a difference.
I have the wi fi plugged directly into the computer rather than the booster hub as the computer won't connect to it when its in the hub. I did get the iPad to connect to the internet when it twas in the hub but once I upgraded the iOS it won't accept the wifi password in the hub either.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Is router pin number the same with WPA Key?

I am trying to find out what my WPA key is,
but I found router pin number instead of the wpa key.
Please somebody kindly tell me it is the same or not.
    Solved!

    Hi Veeton,
I agree with @VALETLINKSYS. The WPA key is the same as the passphrase or you can click on the wireless security sub-tab for a better view of the router's wireless security settings.

  • IPad won't accept PIN

I switched off my iPad 2. It won't accept my PIN now - has never happened before. Have removed and reinstalled SIM card. I can't do a computer backup (some backup is on Cloud). What to do? A reset?  Would I lose my Kindle books if I did a reset?

Try a reset (that will not affect your data). Reset by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears.

  • My ipad won't accept my network key to connect to the internet, installed a new router

My ipad will not accept my network key in order to access my secured internet.  I installed a new router today, not sure that matters.

If you are sure you are using the correct network key, try:
Go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset network settings. After it restarts, try again to reconnect.

  • TS1398 Ipad won't accept WIFI signal all of a sudden - worked fine till tonight

My ipad has worked for over a year on my home wifi network and tonight it will not connect no matter what I do. Wifi is working as my computers are all working fine and the modem is working but for some reason my ipad has decided it won't accept the signal.  I have tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions; ie, forget network, shut off and restart, etc.  Still just circles and circles trying to connect. The IP address and subnet mask numbers show up but nothing else.  And when I try to go online it says Network Required.  Please help!  This is driving me crazy!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Just bought CC, LR5 won't accept new CC serial number

I just purchased CC and downloaded LR5 but it won't accept my new CC serial number, and will only let me continue with the trial version of the software. Help?
I am also encountering a Download Error warning under the Apps tab on Creative Cloud desktop. Hitting the "reload applications" button just re-loads the error message.
    I am on a Mac 10.8.3.
    Thank you!

Thanks Dave, that had been my understanding too, but then in trying to resolve the Download Error problem I had come across something that suggested I might need a serial number. I'll ignore that and focus on the Download Error! I guess I'd better post that in a new thread though unless you have any ideas about that? I tried downloading and installing LR5 from the Adobe site itself instead of through CC desktop but that didn't help: the first time I tried to open LR5 it said it had to be opened by AAM, which then produced the Download Error message again. The second time I attempted to open the software (and every attempt since) it asks me for a serial number. A computer restart hasn't helped.

  • My iPad won't accept my Apple ID on iTunes & App Store

I recently had a problem with signing in with my apple id on ipad. It started when I can't download applications from the app store properly. The device will ask for my password but once I've entered the password it will load for a moment and get that GET button again. So I now signed out my apple id on itunes as well as icloud. I've reset my password. Now, it won't accept my apple id and password. But it worked perfectly on my icloud account. Once I've entered my password and id it will just load for a bit. The sign in button will not be active. But then after several seconds it will appear again with no further notifications or error display.

Hi Go to itunes bottom of page sign out then sign back in that may help . Cheers Brian
