I put my iPad to charge overnight but when I woke up, it only had 16% battery, It was plugged well in to the wall and in the iPad. The same thing happened to my friend, she only had 6% battery. It seems like they only charge up to a certain number, when I barely plugged in mine, it had 4% battery. What do I do? What is wrong?

Hello, my ipad mini is not charging what so ever and it is literally 0%. Once I put it on my wall charger, it still won't charge. I tried rebooting it, by pressing the home and sleep button for 15 second. I tried to change the wall outlet, AC Charger Adapter with USB for the Apple ipad mini and nothing would not work. How do I restore my Ipad 4 from my desktop computer? My charger was damaged so I bought a new one but it won't charge. On my Ipad, I have a BATTERY bar in the middle that is flashing RED and an icon on the bottom that looks like the end of a charger. I have tried to force into reset mode, by holding the sleep key and home button SEVERAL times but it does NOT work. I have plugged my Ipad into my desktop computer, but I do not have a screen on my desktop that is coming up. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE AFTER I DID AN UPDATE AND WAS LOCKED OUT AND I USED EITHER ICLOUD OR ITUNES TO RESTORE, NOT SURE WHICH AND I FORGOT HOW.

My Ipad 3G has decided not to charge. I have been using the same charger that came with it which worked perfectly until a few days ago. I have even tried to charge it using my incar charger, but it still won't charge up. This Ipad is a replacement as my first one had software problems, so I am hoping this can get fixed and not result in another replacement.

Any ideas on how to fix ipad after the new iOS 7 update? My battery will not charge, my ipad is hot to the touch, the iTunes Store won't open, and my messages on Facebook aren't showing up when I chat and pintrest won't pin to my boards.
If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go -
I cannot reset the Ipad either, Safari won't work, and it won't charge properly if the battery runs all the way down...
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

My iPad is less than a year old, still under the one year limited warranty, though since I don't know the exact problem, I don't know if my problem is covered. I have spoken to AppleCare agents 3 times, during all of which my conversation was cut off. In my last conversation I was told to do a complete reset, which I have now done. Problem is, I am now stuck on the set-up screen, as I cannot get above a 2% charge, meaning that my ipad cuts off long before I'm able to do a restore using iTunes, iCloud or even set it up as a new device. So, basically, I now have a $600 coaster... and I'm not happy about that. Especially since I'm nowhere near an Apple Store. I also bought the iPad at Wal-Mart, which I guess was a mistake, because once 30 days have passed, they couldn't care less about helping me. What do I do now? And please, don't throw a bunch of technical jargon at me.. I won't understand it and it'll just frustrate us both if I try. Thanks!
p.s. I'm not 100% sure what OS it currently has, though I do believe I was able to update it to 7.0.3 or possibly 7.0.4 through iTunes, though I can't check it now.
p.p.s. I have always used the charging cord and wall adapter that came with the device to charge it. When this problem first occurred, I also purchased new, exact replicas of both of these, which, obviously, made no difference.That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it... -

Have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of the sounds, have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. IPAD 2 Won't Charge on USB port on my laptop, my desktop Mac but will charge via the wall plug
I am confused on what to do with my IPAD 2. It won't charge via my USB Port on my PC that I travel with. Also I just purchased a new desktop Mac and it will not charge on that USB port either. But it will charge via the Wall Plug that came with it. I am worried when I travel to different countries to use the wall plug. I have an adapter to switch power. I am from Canada and travel oversees where the power is 240 vs the 120 at home. If I use my plug adapter and plug in my ipad to the wall Will I destroy the battey in my IPAD 2. I love my ipad to travel with but it is very frustrating when it will not charge on my PC or on the airplane. Then I am afraid to use the wall plug in the airport because of the difference in power. Would really appreciate some help here because I am oversees 2 weeks a month and only get a couple days use of my IPAD. I have all my books and everything on it and need to be able to recharge it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Confused!!!!For better future reference, you should be aware that the voltage means nothing when it comes to charging power. All that that is telling you is that the Power Adapter will work across that voltage range, i.e., you don't need a transformer to plug it into the outlet (although you may need different plugs, which is a separate topic).
What matters is the amperage (A) and the power in watts (W). The Power Adapter puts out 2 A @ 5 VDC (volts DC), which means it's producing 10 watts of power. It will output that across the entire voltage range.
A high-power USB port on a PC will put out 0.5A @ 5VDC, or 2.5 W. Be aware that not all of the ports on any given PC are likely to be putting out even that much power, at may well be putting out less than half as much. That's why you'll often see the "Not Charging" when plugged into a USB port, especially on Windoze laptops, and why it will charge very slowly even when it works.
FYI, the charger which is sold with the iPhone looks identical, is called the same thing, but only puts out 1A. It will work on the iPad but will charge more slowly. By that same token, the iPad charger will charge an iPhone just fine, it will just charge faster. -
My iPad mini won't charge at all. I got it for Christmas off my dad and it is still in brand new condition. Until the other day it has been working fine but until yesterday or the day before my charger went all funny. In order to charge my iPad mini you had to put the charger in an exact place and if someone so much as touched it it would stop charging because it wasn't in its exact position. But today I tried to charge it again and I tried getting it in the same spot as yesterday but it is not working at all. I have only ever charged my iPad mini in the wall but I have seen posts about people charging it in the USB in an computer. So I thought I would also try that but that hasn't worked either and now my iPad mini won't charge in a plug or USB and I live really far away from an apple store and I can't get a new charger also because I live far away from the store. So what shall I do?
When and where was the iPad/charger purchased? It's covered by a 1-year warranty.
The problem may be the USB cable.

I was working on my iPad and it turned off suddenly and now it won't turn back on. It was at least 50% charged and when I tried to connect the charger it still will not come on. Is there a reset button?

i updated to ios8 last week, since then my ipad2 has done nothing but run terribly slow, two nights ago my battery went low and cut out all together. I put the iPad on charge aand it just won't charge up or turn on at all now.
I Have tried pressing the two buttons together many times. It's been on charge for two days straight, I've plugged it into my laptop to see if the greater power source could boot it up. None of this worked
Tonight i went went to the Trafford centre Apple store and got no help at all. qued for half an hour to get my iPad plugged into a laptop and forgotten about, felt like because I wasn't buying anything they didn't want to know! So going into a store hasn't helped me either.

The most efficient way to charge an iPad is with the charger that came with the iPad and having that plugged into a wall outlet. Trying to charge while connected to a laptop often doesn't work because the USB port may not provide enough power.
2. Once an iPad battery has completely drained it may take an hour or more on the wall charger before the iPad responds. So after an hour on the charger reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
3. If the iPad still does not start up make an appt at the Apple store. It will be far better if you have an appointment rather than just walking in because those with appointments will be taken care of before you are. -

This happened to me months ago but for some reason it fixed itself. It's really frustrating especially since I barely use my iPad and now it's acting up on me.I have a similar problem. My iPad battery will actually discharge when it is plugged into a charger and I am using it. I spoke to Apple Care and they recommended that I restore to factory settings. That was fine, until I restored from back up and the problem returned. I took my iPad to a Genius Bar and the battery diagnostic tests showed the battery was in good condition. Yesterday I set up the iPad as a new iPad and it had a 100% charge, which it held for sometime and after approximately 8 hours of sporadic use, the battery was still 55% charged. When I returned home, I installed some of my favourite apps, including setting up the iCloud for iWork files and this morning the iPad was again losing battery charge when it is plugged into the charger. It seems as this must be a software glitch - any suggestions?

My iPad air won't change at all, and I don't know if it's the port or charger cable it is charging normally but it just won't charge. I have had a new port put in before after a charger getting stuck in there but it worked fine after and now it's not working at all! I don't know if maybe it's the charger getting old but I have spent far too much money on this iPad then I should have as it's one problem after another witch is causing me lots of stress.
Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again.
How are you charging it? its's best charged plugged into the wall not via USB. So if you're trying via USB, try using the supplied power block plugged into the wall. -

The charger cable (That came with it) finally broke. The wires just came apart and it wasn't salvagable. I had an Ipod cord here that a friend left and plugged it into the original port (The one that was working fine with original charger and came with ipad).
