  • IPad won't connect to WiFi network, but macbook pro & iphones will.

Both of my iPhones and my Macbook Pro easily connect to the wi-fi network. I feel like I've tried everything to get my iPad to connect. It used to connect perfectly fine and I'd watch Netflix, but then it started crashing. I work for a non-profit so it's a company network, not my personal one, but it's the only network I have considering I live here! Such a pain!
    I've reset my network settings.
    I've click "Forget Network"
I've done a hard reset of the iPad multiple times.
    NOTHING WORKS.
Can some super tech savvy person help a girl out?! I would greatly appreciate it.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • I loaded in Lion - but my time capsule will not back up. I get an message: couldn't complete backup due to a network prolem. Also it says "make sure your computer and back up disk are on the same network, and that the backup disk is turned on.

I installed Lion on my Mac Pro laptop. Regarding Time Capsul - I get a messaage as follows: couldn't complete backup due to a network problem. Make sure your computer and back up disk are on the same network and that the  backup disk is turned on. Then try again to back up. I have time capsul turned on. bill

I have exactly same problem with my MBP and MBA, after upgrading to Lion. I've tried to fix this issue while cheking key chain issues and network setup, even formating hdd and time capsule firmware upgrade (ver. 7.6.1.). Nothing can help. It is very annoying.

  • My Ipad won't connect to wifi.

My Ipad (1st generation, iOS 7.1.2) won't connect to wifi. I've had the Ipad for two days, the first two days it worked perfectly fine with my wifi, but today it wouldn't connect. I tried getting back on to my wifi but it told me the password was incorrect. I have tried to enter the password multiple times, but every time it tells me its incorrect. It is the correct password and I have made sure I have been typing it in correctly, which I have. I'm not sure what the problem is, and I don't know how to fix it. Please help!

"My Ipad (1st generation, iOS 7.1.2) won't connect to wifi. I've had the Ipad for two days"
A first gen iPad can only be upgraded to iOS 5.1.1 so it may not be a first generation.
Tap Settings > General  > About
Which version do you see ??
    For iOS Wi-Fi issues ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • My ipod touch won't connect to wifi at home and it use to, it keeps saying my password is wrong

My ipod touch won't connect to wifi at home, it use to work just fine, now it keeps telling me my password is wrong, but it can't be wrong because it is the same one I have always used. I also have an IPad2 that belongs to my daughter and it connects with our wifi at home with no problem.  But, why is my wifi telling me that my password is wrong.  I have tried everything, we have changed the pass word and that did not work.  We have have taken security off of our wifi and my ipod touch give me another message, but it won't connect to my wifi at home.  Please help... b/c the greatest thing for me is to be able to connect to wifi at home.
    thanks

I have even shut down my ipod touch to see if it fixes the lack of wifi connection at home but it keeps telling me my password is wrong.  I can connect everywhere else, but not at home.  Pls help my.. I need to connect at home.  Does it matter if we have othere decives like ipads connected to the same wifi.  Because we have an ipad2 and my ipod and up until 1 week ago, we had very little issues keeping both of our devices connected at home.  Eitherway the ipad2 is still working just fine on our home wifi, but my ipod touch keeps refuseing to accept the password.
Pls help, i am very frustrated and I have tried everything.

  • IPad won't connect to wifi

Help! I have had my iPad for some time now and Never had a problem connecting it to my home wifi. In the last three days it has either not connected, connected but no wifi symbol appears in top left, connected with wifi symbol lit but won't open web pages, or continually asked for the password and said 'cannot access network'. I am at a complete loss to know what to do. Why has this suddenly happened? I have contacted my broadband provider, all ok their end. My laptop has no problem finding the wifi and using it so I can't see it being the router. Even so I have re-set my router and re-set the security on it, still no joy. In fact my iPad couldn't understand how to use the re-set network before it was secured! The frustrating thing is my iPad can use other open networks so why can it not use my home one? because I know modem, router, iPad, laptop are all working,(laptop can use home wifi, iPad can use other open networks) this feels as though I am either totally bonkers or it must be something small that I am missing. I have hard reset the iPad, holding home and power buttons, and reset networks from the general settings. I have tried numerous tips on the router settings, channel 11, putting it onto WEP, adding mac address etc etc etc.
If anyone can help at all it will be hugely appreciated. I am a disabled person so my iPad is used more at home on wifi than anywhere else. I can use another open network or safari, games, updating aps etc but am worried that this is insecure and concerned that other people can pick up card details passwords etc.
I am seriously considering throwing the iPad away as it is not doing what I need it to do and getting myself an android tablet. This would be a shame as in all other ways I'm fond of it but it seems to be acting like it's having a tantrum, maybe it's going through the terrible twos! I just resent that I am paying for broadband my iPad refuses to use!
Has anybody else had these issues? Is my iPad coming to he end of it's shelf life? Has anyone had this issue and managed to resolve it? If so ANY tips would help, even those I've tried before as I may not have done things correctly.

Argh!! Sorry but I'm still no nearer to solving this issue. I tried EVERYTHING suggested and NONE of it has worked :(
Has been suggested that I get a new router BUT..... It is ONLY the iPad that won't connect to this router. My laptop (xp), youngest sons laptop (vista) and my eldest sons (who got the train home just to help try to fix this problem) Archos 101 Internet tablet ALL have no problem connecting to the wifi.
I am so wiped out now from trying everything I could find on apple support, forums, google searches that I'm ready to turn this blooming iPad into a wedge to put under the wobbly table leg. I'm not even close to joking. What is the problem?
I have even gone to the time consuming, teeth grinding process of updating iPad to ios5. And.... NO! Still no cigar :(
I now know that I am not alone. People EVERYWHERE are having the same problem. Different settings on the router work for different people but as yet none have worked for me.
I can't believe that apple do not know about this, so why can't someone in the know read this question and tell me what the issue is and how to fix it? This iPad is my first apple product and until recently I was considering both an iPhone and a mac book, NOT NOW. Unless and until this problem is resolved apple is a dirty word in my house and I will not recommend them to anyone. It's just not worth the agg.
As for it being obstructed by metal containing iron, What? Can't see a situation where that would happen! Sorry to be rude but I'm going round the twist now with this.

  • Suddenly today both my iphone and ipad will not connect to wifi.. I have never had any problems before.  Please help.  Should I reset all my settings?  Should I reset network settings?  What should I do?

my iphone and ipad will suddenly not connect to wifi....
    Never had any problems before?
Should are reset all my settings?
Should I reset all network settings?
    Please help!

With any wi-fi network or with your wi-fi network?
If your wi-fi network, try resetting the wireless router and modem. Disconnect the wireless router from the power source followed by disconnecting the modem from the power source. Wait a few minutes followed by re-connecting the modem to the power source and allow the modem to completely reset before re-connecting the wireless router to the power source and allow it to reset with the modem before trying again.

  • How can I set up iCloud for my wife's computer and iPhone 4S when I previously set up an iCloud address for her and now can't use it in the iCloud set up?

I set up an iCloud address for my wife, evidently before running the iCloud set up and now I can't connect her to
an iCloud email address through the set up because it is already in use?

I did not articulate the problem properly.  I have the sign in for Birgit on Apple BUT I am unable to set up the
icloud.com email address for her because I had already established it before running the iCloud set up on her computer and now when I try to set up an iCloud email address for her through the iCloud application I can not do so because the email address is "already in use."  I have no idea how to meld the two.

  • Airport won't connect to all devices (Macbook and iPhone 5s)

I have an Airport issue, that I can't figure out.
My iMac and other iPhone 5s in the house work fine. My other devices will not connect and it's frustrating. The wifi on these devices works fine other places with different routers.
    1) My Macbook Pro version 10.6.8 sees the Airport and says the Airport is connected. It will not connect to the internet. I have tried the following:
    Most common Wifi issues
    2) I cannot connect to wifi on my iPhone 5S. I have tried trouble shooting this issue following Apple instructions.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - Apple Support
    Any help is appreciated.

Exactly what model airport do you have??
    Running what firmware?
    Let me suggest the following.
    1. Reset the airport to factory.
    2. Do the setup with all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg Base station name.. AEgenx (put actual number for gen of the AE). Use two wireless names.. AE24ghz and AE5ghz to force the bands to the obvious name.
    3. Do not apply passwords for wireless yet.
    4. On the client computers. IPv6 must be set to link-local only which is now crucial to getting things to work.
    5. Clean out all the wireless names.. from all the clients.. then reboot them and rediscover the wireless network.
    6. Check all devices can connect to the AE. .if it fails, test with fixed wireless channels.. particularly 2.4ghz try 11, 6, 1 in that order.
No luck the AE might be too old.. but you now have the simplest possible AE setup and if wireless still fails it is hardware or client issue.
    7. This is now the point where assuming everything works you add security .. WPA2 Personal with pure alphanumeric password mixed case and numbers.. 8-20 characters long.
Now check again that after you put in the password everything works.. make sure you set stuff to remember the password.

  • My iPad won't connect to wifi, tried everything!

It worked fine for about a week, then I left the house and when I returned it just will not reconnect. I've tried everything including resetting the network settings numerous times, turning my actual modem on and off but nothing works, help? I've also checked, it's not just my wifi that's broken as my mum also has an iPhone and an iPad, it's just mine that won't work.
    Any suggestions?!

    Hi Moniica,
Does your Wifi network show on your phone, but when you select it, it just doesn't connect?
If that is the case, (I know this sounds lame but), stand very close to the router and then select it.
I had the same issue, and when I went over and stood next to my router and selected it, it finally connected. Once it connected, it was fine (I am not permanently sitting next to my router in order to read my mail....)
It's worth a shot! It worked for me....
    Cheers,

  • IPad won't sync with my Macbook Pro and iPhone through iCloud

  • Two of my 7 calendars aren't syncing correctly via icloud from iMac to ipad and iphone.  i cant find the problem. Help!

Two calendars in my list of seven are not correctly syncing between my iMac and my ipad & iPhone.  Also, the two calendars appear in my iCloud list with alert symbols after the (triangle with exclamation mark) whereas others in list show a "broadcasting" symbol. I don't know how to find out what these alerts are.
I have noticed problems in syncing special recurring events....I.e I am able to set up a 'last Friday of each month"  on my iMac, but it doesn't appear on my iPad or iPhone.  And I note I can't set up a special recurring event on my iPad or iPhone.  What can I do to solve this?  Is this a known flaw in iCal?
    Mary C

I have no idea if this will help as I sync via iTunes under OSX.6.8 - but there may be a clue somewhere here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4981514
I have to say that, even after doing all that, my problem seems to recur at random with no obvious trigger - and it is even more bizarre because, like you, not all calendars or events are affected.  Sometimes, different events within the same calendar are duplicated whereas others aren't!
And just how the iPad seems to pick up events which no longer appear in iCal is beyond me - presumably somewhere in a plist or old cache file but, as I said, no-one has any idea what or where!
No-one has managed to explian why my problem occurs or, indeed, just what is happening, but at least I now know how I can correct it, albeit via tedious series of steps.
    I hope that helps?
