Ipad won't load past apple screen

My Ipad won't load or shut down.  When the cover is opened the screen w/apple is there..desktop sometimes comes on, but as soon as screen is touched it returns to apple screen. I backed up the ipad with itunes on computer and attempted to restore it but it  won't
restore until "find my ipad" is turned off, which I can't do since the ipad won't load the settings.
Updated to ios7 two days ago and was working okay.  I'm not sure if this has something to do with the update.

Have you tried rebooting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

My I phone 5 has crashed won't load past apple screen and has a list of NAND scripts can anyone help or had this happen

    Standard troubleshooting...
    1. Remove apps from the Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
    - Press the home button when done.
    2. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider.  Slide to power off.  Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
    3. Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    4. Restore with your backup.
    5. Restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.    You may need to try DFU mode (Google for it).
    6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • Phone won't load past apple screen until hit a few times

32GB iphone 5, Got it day one so im sure its out of warranty so im just gonna have my 4S re activated if I cannot solve this issue. The phone has been shutting off latley sometimes because of slight shock like me dropping it, in an otterbox all its life. So to get it started again I have to connect it to a charger and hit it and try turning it on multiple times. For a couple week prior it would act like the battery was completley dead I would have to connect to a charger and it would reboot and be normal for about a day or two. Very odd question I don't expect much of an answer as to the bizzare nature of the problem. Just lookin to see if anyone has had the same problem and info would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,

Sounds like the battery has become disconnected inside the phone if u shift it and hear a soft thud then that is the case otherwise not a clue

  • Ipod touch wont load past apple screen. I have tried resetting by holding home button and on/off but after it resets it still only loads to the apple screen. When I plug the device in It stays on the apple screen and itunes does not recognize it?

Ipod touch wont load past apple screen. I have tried resetting by holding home button and on/off but after it resets it still only loads to the apple screen. When I plug the device in It stays on the apple screen and itunes does not recognize it? I fear it may be stuck in some sort of reset loop which is stopping itunes from recognizing it. How do I go about the process of sending it in to apple if I cannot find a fix? Thank you in advance, it is greatly appreciated!!

    - See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.
    - If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off (that is required to place in recovery mode), then let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the reset, restore again
    - Then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apples store.

  • Iphone 4 won't load past logo screen

While on vacation, my phone went black. I thought the phone had gotten too hot, so when I got back to our room, I plugged it into the charger and after a few minutes it said "activation required", then brought me to the "connect to itunes" screen. Of course, on vacation, I didn't bring my computer! So after a week gone without my phone, I am connecting it to itunes and it won't load past the silver apple logo screen and itunes won't recognize it!! Help!! Is my phone trash or can it be saved???

My solution: I opened the phone, removed the battery, cleaned out the battery connector and reattached the battery. The phone turned back on and showed the low battery sign.  I had done this before and it didn't work. Apparently the problem was I hadn't properly connected them. You need to make sure it's locked on tight so when you close your phone slides on easily.

  • Help! Won't load past white screen!!

I need help please! My curve won't load past the white loading blackberry screen. I downloaded an app from the app store and it crashed my phone.  I called my carriers tech support but they are backed up and it might be a days before they can get back to me.

Jenn, If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Satellite M40 won't load past BIOS screen

when i turn my Satellite M40 on sadly it won't load past about 7/8ths of the blue bar going across the screen.
this has left me completely baffled as what to do.
apparently it could be repaired by removing the battery cables on my CMOS?
would anyone know how i would go about doing this? or have any other ideas?
    thanks xx

    Hi Dec,
The scrolling blue bars indicate that the Wondiows operating system is being loaded from the hard drive. If this process stalls during the load then it is likely that either the hard drive itself is defetive or the files which are being loaded are corrupt and cannot be loaded.
Interfering with the CMOS chip will not correct this problem since the BIOS has already been loaded at this stage.
If you have access to a bootable CD/DVD (such as Norton Disk Doctor) then I siggest you try booting from it and running a scan of your hard drive. Alternatively you could try re-installing your operating system from the Toshiba recovery CDs but this will over-write any of your own data on your hard drive.
    regards

    Hello jwludwick,
Does the screen on your iPad look like this?
If so, that indicates your iPad is in recovery mode and needs to be restored using iTunes.  Please follow the article below for further steps.

  • IMac won't go past apple screen, keyboard won't connect

I cannot get my iMac to boot up past the apple screen with the loading circle. I would try booting up while holding the command and R keys or those other options, but my computer stopped working the one time my keyboard died and I had to change the batteries. Now it won't connect, and therefore will not register me holding down any keys. Are there any other options?

Restart the computer while holding down the C key. This will take several minutes to start up as it trying to start from the Install Disc. If you still cannot get it started call AppleCare immediately, the phone number is in your manual or you can
    look it up here.

  • Computer Won't Load Past Grey Screen

So I was using my computer last night and it just died on me. The battery says it is full and all too. But when I go to start it back up again, it won't go past the grey screen. I have tried all the keyboard shortcuts and nothing seems to work. I have had it on and running for about 30 minutes so far and nothing has changed.
This has happened to me once already and I had to have the whole computer restarted and I lost everything. I really don't want to lose everything yet again but I don't know what to do.
I also cant seem to find my OSX startup disk. Of course. I was wondering what are all the options/keyboard shortcuts so I can try everything before I decided to just give it to the tecs to deal with.

"I have tried all the keyboard shortcuts and nothing seems to work."
Which ones? Need details to avoid the +"been there, done that"+ scenarios.
"I also cant seem to find my OSX startup disk."
You will need to locate the Install DVD in order to troubleshoot. Otherwise, you will end up w/a very expensive door stop.;)
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.

  • IPhone 5 won't get past apple screen (keeps restarting)

    Hello
Bought an iphone 5 just before the ios 7 release and for the last little while the phone would shut off a After a full charge when it hit approximately 97% of full charge it would shut off!  Now it won't get past the apple screen and just keeps restarting over and over again.
Does anyone else have this problem with their iphone 5 and if so any solutions???
Our carrier Fido says this is an IOS 7 issue. Can anyone help
    Thanks
    Shep

    Hey Shep77,
That definitely sounds frustrating! To completely isolate the issue, you may want to restore your iPhone in recovery mode, as outlined in this article:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
iPhone is unresponsive and displays the Apple Logo
Review this article: iOS: Unable to update or restore.
.The above article also has great troubleshooting steps for Power issues, you may want to run through those if restoring does not resolve your issue:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    - Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    - Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    - Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    - After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    - If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.
                   - If the display remains black, go to next step.
    - Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to
restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    - If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Powerbook won't boot past apple screen, disk utility can't repair

Last night I applied the most recent software updates, I don't remember exactly what they were but there was a Java update, a security update, a quicktime update and an itunes update. after the required restart, my powerbook g4 won't boot past the apple icon screen.
I can't boot it into safe mode or single user mode.
I can start it up in target disk mode and transfer a handful of files/directories at a time before it hangs.
When I try to run the repair in Disk Utility against the target disk, it gets about halfway before the following:
Verify and Repair disk “Macintosh HD”
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
    Invalid sibling link
    Volume check failed.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error
the disk doesn't make any grinding or anything, just a few clicks when it tries to boot but nothing bad sounding.
Is my computer hosed? Is it worth bringing it to the genius bar?

Hi, Pat. How much time did you give DW to complete its work? Locating the data it needs to rebuild your directory can take a while — that's the step at which DW far outperforms other utilities. It digs deeper and tries harder than anything else, and that can take a long time. The longest successful DW "fix" I've seen reported here in the seven and a half years I've been participating in Apple Discussions was *14 days* of continuous work to find the necessary data and reconstruct a hard drive directory from it. That was after all other disk utilities had been tried and had failed; it was the user's last hope to save data that hadn't been backed up anywhere. If you haven't allowed DW at least a few hours to accomplish its task, give it another chance. And don't try to use the computer for anything at all while DW is working.

  • IBook G4 Startup Problem-Won't go past Apple screen

I've been using my iBook for two years with no issues...until yesterday. I'm very much a novice technical wise, so I'm going to give as much detail as I can to describe how things transpired.
It had been a while since I'd checked for software updates, so I took advantage of being at a friend's house who has Roadrunner (dialup is the only option I have where I live...very rural area) and installed an update for OSX. It seemed to install fine and prompted me to restart as usual, which I did. I stepped away for about ten minutes to let it do its thing, but when I returned, it was stuck on the Apple screen (light gray) but without the progress wheel. I let it sit for awhile, hoping it would do something, but to no avail. I powered it down, let it sit, and turned it back on...still just the apple screen. As soon as I got to work this morning I started searching through the forums to find a solution. Below are the things I've tried based on suggestions from other threads and the results, but still, I haven't successfully gotten past the Apple screen.
    1) Pressing power button then holding the "apple"-opt-p-r keys simultaneously until I hear the startup chime three times. I heard the chimes, but it still goes back to Apple screen with no progress wheel.
    2) Used Disk Utility from my OSX install disc to repair the disk, but no repairs were necessary.
    3) Tried restarting in Safe Mode, but it just went back to the Apple and the progress wheel never appeared.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!!

    Hello
I have a ibook G3 and it happened to me to!! I didn't realize that it could have been software update!! Ok well my story is that I was doing my normal on my iBook( myspace, ichat and itunes) well I thought hey I havent updated in a while so I software updated it. It asked me to restart just like you and what do you know it got stuck on the gray apple screen. I reinstalled Mac os x Panther 3 times, and every time after it was done installing I would run software update and restart it just like it says. Until I reed this, well you helped me, I'm just not going to update until after the holidays when I get Tiger. They might be doing this to get us to buy Leopard. Well thanks but for you I recomend you getting a external hard drive and try to get everything you can out by starting up from classic. Sorry and... well... thanks for helping me!

  • Computer won't load past grey screen with Apple logo, even with OS Disc

I turn on my computer and only gets to the grey screen with the Apple logo and idling circle. After a while, it loads a small box telling me to restart, time and time again, no matter how many times I restart. I've tried holding "shift" to go into safe mode, it won't let me.
I believe it's originally a Tiger platform, and right now I think it's running on Leopard.
I just bought a Snow Leopard OS X Disc, and I inserted it and tried to let it load. It gave me the restart box. I held down "c" while starting up, got the restart box.
Held down "option", and selected the "Mac OS X install Disc"; it went back to the grey Apple logo screen to load, and gave me the restart box after several minutes. Repeated that and held down "c" while loading, still gave me the box.
Nothing I do with or without the OS X Disc is making a difference. I cannot load anything on my computer, period.
Can someone please suggest something for me to try?

Well if you do then turn both computers off. Connect a Firewire cable between them. Boot your computer into Target Disk Mode. After the TDM screen appears boot the other computer normally. If your drive is accessible it will show up as a disk icon on the Desktop of the other Mac. You can then access your files and transfer them to another hard drive.
Then open Disk Utility. Your drive should appear in the sidebar list. Select the drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the Partition Scheme drop down menu to one. Set the Format type drop down menu to Mac OS Extended, Journaled, then click on the Partition button and wait for the process to complete.
Your drive should now be OK assuming it's not mechanically damaged. Eject the drive from the Desktop as you would eject any removable drive and disconnect the Firewire cable. Shutdown your computer. You can now boot from the installer disc and install OS X.
