IPad Won't reboot

Hi All,
I have a problem with my iPad, it won't reboot, there is just the apple logo show up. I've tried to turn it off by holding the sleep/wake button and also combine with the home button by following this instruction :
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274
but still no respond.
Can anyone help me, please?
Thanks in advance.
Toni

Hi and welcome......
If you can't restore your iPad by following the instructions at that link then it's time to make an appointment at a Genius Bar here.
If you don't live close to an Apple store, then take it an Apple certified repair provider.
If you have AppleCare for your iPad, be sure and let them know.
Leave the iPad connected to a wall outlet for several hours in order to completely charge the battery just in case that is the issue. An iPad won't restore with a discharged battery.

iPad won't start up after being switched off

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear and it will boot up- you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • TS3274 ipad won't reboot

My ipad is has a pop up screen up that says there isn't enough iCloud storage to back it up and it hasn't been backed up in 22 weeks, to plug it in and connect to WiFi.  I have don't this and it will not go away.  I have held the home and sleep button down to reboot it and it does nothing.  I let the battery totally die and when I recharged it the message was gone, but it is back again and as before will not reboot.  It is completely frozen.  Can anyone help?

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Make sure you hold both buttons down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • IPad won't reboot -- remains frozen

My iPad 2 remains frozen despite numerous "hard" reboots (depressing sleep and control buttons properly).  Upon restarting, the Apple logo appears and then the gear-wheel starts to form and freezes and stays frozen.  Hard reboot was done correctly;  all other recommended fixes were attempted.  Any advice would be appreciated.

After reboot iPad will not respond. Unable to unlock. With attempt to start using usual protocol a white screen appears and will go into sleep mode when power button held down in attempt to power off (no slide appears to power down). Essentially crashed and unable to reboot. When attached to iTunes it is not seen by iTunes despite downloading latest updates.

  • IPad won't reboot after upgrade

I am trying to help a colleague who fears he may lose all the data on his iPad. After he downloaded the latest OS software to his iPad, it will no longer reboot and just freezes on the Apple Logo. I have tried connecting to iTunes on his Windows Laptop which again fails.
If I force a reset, I guess he is going lose all the images on his 64Gb iPad as he hasn't backed up to iTunes for some time. Whilst he does appear to have most stored or duplicated on his Laptop he also has an iCloud account. My colleague due to his age has become very confused with regard his passwords and Apple ID. However he enjoys the simplicity of using the iPad which seems more important, just to get that working again. He is resolved that if he loses information then so be-it.
Once I have got that working again I can then impress upon him the routine for regularly syncing to the Laptop. Sadly many users don't understand that an iPad is not a computer and therefore can't appreciate the importance of regular backups.
Whereas we used to have computer specialists, now suddenly everyone has been encouraged to become a computer techie! I do feel that Apple and Microsoft should do more in supporting the public in this developing Digital age.
I would appreciate any advice re resetting the iPad via iTunes. Thanks......

When I tidied up my colleague's Laptop, creating more disk space, I then updated the iTunes software. In turn, this managed to update the iPad software. In restoring I noticed his last iCloud back-up had been in 2012, although there were several more recent iPhone restore dates. In taking the option of using the 2012 iPad back-up date (as there were no more recent), am I now able to use any of his more similar iPhone restore points for his iPad?
Unfortunately, my colleague suffers from Parkinson's disease and his files and hard-drives are a total mess. His 64Gb iPad was also full, I guess. Naturally he gets so much pleasure from his iPad. I copied as much as possible to an external drive and slowly recovering most folders.
There must be so many more elderly users, facing similar problems. His nearest dealership would be 80 miles away and their support would cost him an additional £75!!!

  • My Ipad 2 won't reboot. the little circle keeps going round but the buttons don't work. help please.

My Ipad 2 won't reboot. The little circle keeps going round but that's all, it won't boot. nothing happens when I press the button on the top either. Please help.

After you hold the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears (ignore the red slider to shut down) then let go of both buttons and you don't need to do anything else.  Your iPad will restart all by itself.  Just be patient, but leave your iPad alone after the Logo appears.

  • My ipad won't turn on.  i don't know why. i tried rebooting it but it didn't work. help.

my ipad won't turn on. i tried rebooting it but it didn't work. i don't know what happened. can anyone explain why happen to my unit?

When you say a reboot do you mean a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Happened to me once, about 6 months ago, and a reset got it working again.

Note: Data will not be affected.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • TS3274 My iPad won't charge. Tried more than one charger.

My IPad won't charge. I tried more then more charger...help. Plus the sound is missing for general purposes...lock sound, etc. already tried to turn on an off.

Have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of the sounds, have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT408

  • My iPad won't let me stay on some games and web sites. It sends me back to my home page after I have only been on the site a few minutes. How can I fix this?

My iPad won't let me stay on some games and web sites for more than a few minutes . It closes the site and takes me back to home screen. Why and how do I fix this?

For Safari you could try clearing its cache and history via Settings > Safari.
For Safari and your other apps you could close them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iPad won't recognise my air printer, it is connected as I checked by typing in IP address into Safari, but when I try to print it just says cannot find any air printers.

my Ipad won't recognise my printer. It is connected as I have typed the IP address into Safari which confirms connectivity. Spoken with canon who suggest it it is a problem with IOS not recognising the functionality. When I try to print it says cannot find any air printers. Printer is working via LAN set up on my laptop. Don't want to have to spend £25 to speak to an apple support team. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Printer is a canon MG 3250.

A few things you could try:
    Reboot your modem/router.
Turn your printer off then on again & make sure it's connected to the network.
Reboot your iPad holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the apple logo appears then release & let the iPad boot up normally.
Try going into Settings on your iPad & select General->Reset->Reset Network Settings.
Also, have a look at this:

  • My ipad won't sync photos, need help please

my ipad won't sync photos anymore, anyone out there can help

You could try clearing the photo cache.
You could also try a reset of the iPad and see if photos sync after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPad won't sync; instead tells me it's syncing for 2 seconds without result

    Hey
    Here's my problems:
My iPad won't sync to my computer
My iPad's system time and calendar are messed up after the failed sync
    What happens:
Once I connect my iPad to my PC with iTunes open, it starts to sync
Two seconds later, iTunes tells me the sync is finished
Nothing new appears on my iPad, and my the time and calander are messed up
    What I've tried:
manual sync (only works for music)
    reboot computer
    reboot iPad
    uninstal and reinstal iTunes
Info (I'm not sure if all of this is relevant):
I just switched from a 32 bit Windows XP to a 64 bit Windows 7 computer
My iTunes is also 64 bit
I'm using a different iTunes account than I was before, and I've successfully downloaded books and music with it on my iPad
The iTunes library is in the right place (it's on an external hard drive, just like it was on my old computer); I can see and play the music on my computer
I have an iPad 1, latest software update available; it's about two years old
My computer runs on 110 volts, and my iPad runs on 220 volts (I baught my iPad in europe and moved to the US a few weeks ago; I use an adapter to recharge it, which works fine)
I've tried different USB ports, all directly in my computer
Thanks for reading all this :/ Hope anyone knows whats wrong. Thanks

    SOLVED
It turned out I still had apps installed from my previous iTunes account (Apple ID), which I deleted and re-installed using the new account. After that, it worked perfectly
