Ipad won't recognize charger

My iPad keeps starting up (shows apple, shows wheel) then shows low battery (picture of battery with little red area on left) then restarts again.  What can I do to get it to recognize that it is plugged into the charger and charge?

1. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo (may not work)
2. Try another wall socket
3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • TS1398 iPad won't recognize wifi password after 7.0.2 update.  (The password is correct, but iPad says it's incorrect) How do I fix this?

My iPad won't recognize my wifi password after 7.0.2 update.  The password IS correct, but I continue to get the message that the password is incorrect.  Any ideas how to fix this?

I have the same problem too on my iPad 3. One thing that sometimes works is if you go to the App Store and put your password in there after a few tries it may work.

A bit more explanation would be good.  That's about the same as phoning your garage and saying "my car doesn't go".

  • IPad won't recognize iTunes

I restored all settings on my iPad.  I'm at the point where the iPad says to connect to iTunes.  When I hook up, iTunes sees my iPad and says it's syncing, then finishes.  But the iPad does nothing but say "connect to iTunes."  It won't recognize the connection to iTunes at all.
I've tried rebooting my laptop, rebooting my iPad multiple times.  I have the latest version of iTunes and my iPad is fully charged.  This is a first gen iPad.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

This just happened to me. Did you get any answers?

  • My iPad won't stay charged after iOS7 upgrade

Ever since I upgraded my iOS on my iPad 2 it won't stay charged and also takes forever to charge.  Anyone else having this problem?  I'm constantly closing everything that is open - super frustrating.

    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

  • IBook Won't Recognize Charge in Battery

My iBook, a Revision B non-FireWire machine, is experiencing a very unusual problem in that it won't recognize the charge in a battery.
Like many iBooks, this one no longer will charge a battery. I purchased a new battery from OWC in the fall and found it wasn't charging--yet one of my two decade-old batteries was still initiating the amber light (something this battery did not). I sent the battery back and received another one, which gave me the same symptoms.
I performed the oft-discussed routines for resetting power management systems on iBooks, resetting the PMU, PRAM, and NVRAM. I tried each procedure several times and even "drained" the capacitor by leaving it unplugged/unbatteried for 30 minutes. The computer still wouldn't charge the battery--there was no attempt made according to the symbols in the control strip. (My iBook runs 9.1 although I do have a copy of Jaguar I could install on it--but at the moment I have the extra space filled with VPC and Win2K). I also tried Apple's battery reset extension.
Figuring I could get away without built-in charging, as this is currently a laptop I only use on an occasional basis, I bought a VST charger. The battery charged up fine. When I put it in the iBook, I got maybe 10-15 seconds of battery life.
The main problem here: *even with a known charged battery, the computer won't see any charge in that battery*. It's fine by me if the computer doesn't want to charge, as I have the VST charger, but I do want it to work off the battery.
Some history, in case any of this is relevant: I purchased this computer new in August 2000 with two batteries. The original yo-yo adapter shorted out five years later. It took about three weeks for a replacement to come, and that replacement was an OWC house brand charger (not an Apple). I depleted both batteries, which were still getting close to their original capacity, during the time between the adapter's failure and the arrival of the new adapter. Neither battery charged on the new adapter, although I blamed this on a combination of drainage and age. I later replaced the power adapter with another Apple, but the batteries had been drained for too long to charge back up. Neither will charge in the VST station, although the OWC battery does.
The computer runs OS 9.1, has 192MB RAM, and has not seen a fresh system install in about three years. It has an Airport card installed and has no history of trouble outside of the shorted yo-yo and the inability to charge/recognize batteries.
I've worked on tons of Macs and have seen far crazier problems, all of which have been solvable, but this one is impossible even for this veteran Apple user to figure out. Every known remedy has failed, and I'm wondering if perhaps it's an internal problem relating to the PRAM capacitor--which appears as though it would have failed in 2005 if it indeed failed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated--although this is by no means my main machine, I still use it for a few OS 9 programs I haven't bothered to upgrade and definitely want to use it without the AC adapter for the first time in nearly six years.

It's a good idea to start your own discussion when you have a different problem than the one discussed in a particular thread.

Which exact iBook model is it?
You can choose from this list:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/index-ibook.html
If it's one of the older, colored iBooks, you need to update the firmware on it before attempting to boot from an OS X disc or install OS X (as mentioned above).

Is the Jaguar CD the full retail version or a disc that came with another Mac? If it's a disc that came with another Mac, it probably won't work with the iBook.

  • My Icloud is messed up.  I changed my email on the computer but my phone and ipad won't recognize it and won't take any of my old passwords What do i do?

?  I changed my email and my apple id to that email on my computer- now my Iphone and my Ipad will not recognize it nor will they function using the old email and any password?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
There is no option to enter the password on the computer.
If the screen will not rotate, ensure that Portrait Lock is not enabled.

  • Ipad won't open, charge and be recognized

My sister's ipad mini hasn't been charged for about 2 months because its original cable charger has been lost. Now it won't even open, charge or even recognized in iTunes. Please help me. Send me an email please? *******

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email address from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
It can take about 15 minutes of charging before it will respond (possibly longer if not using its own wall charger), if it's longer than that then have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Macbook won't recognize charger

I recently bought a used Macbook (unibody, late 2008).  When I received the computer, everything seemed to be running fine.  However, when I went to charge the system, I found that the computer would not charge!  The adapter did not recognize a charge nor did the computer recognize a charge - nothing showed up in the battery icon.  The laptop died not long after.  I have tried resetting the SMC with no success.  However, when I pulled out the battery and plugged in the adapter, the charger blinked several times until it kept a steady green light while plugged in.  The indicator lights on the side of the computer would not light up while the battery was inserted; however, when the battery was not inserted, the indicator lights would light up.  I cannot turn the computer on (it's completely dead), and I'm tired of staring at an expensive paperweight.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thank you!

try another charger to rule out that the current one is faulty.

  • My iPad won't wall charge or charge from a computer after ios7.1

Please help. I cannot get my iPad to charge. What are possible things that might have lead to this and how can I fix it?

Can you try using that cable to charge someone else's ipad and seeing if that works?

  • IPad won't recognize Nikon D300

I've had no luck connecting my D300 to my iPad with the camera connection kit. Nothing shows up on the iPad screen, not even an "inability to mount" box (which I get with my old D200). I've tried reformatting the memory card, switching between mass storage and PTP, restarting the iPad, waiting the recommended 30 seconds, etc. The D300 shows up immediately when I connect it to my Mac, so there's not a cable issue.
Any ideas what the problem may be? Could it be a defective iPad USB camera connector?

I just tried my D300. It seems to work in either Mass Storage and MTP/PTP mode. I previously tried the D200 and D3 in MTP/PTP mode and they were OK. Didn't try Mass Storage mode on them.
I connect the camera and then turn it on.
More importantly for me, at least, I can plug a compact flash reader into the USB Camera Connection kit and it works fine for my cameras. There have been some reports that some readers my require too much power from the iPad's USB port. My reader is a San Disk ImageMate 12 in 1.
