IPad Won't Stay Connected to Networks without Internet Access
We use iPads for onsite demos with customers where we bring our own network using an ASUS WL-330N mobile router.
iPads on iOS6 will connect to the router but then anything that touches the internet, it bumps it off the WiFi network.
Upon reading some other postings we have even tried to route the IP for www.apple.com to the computer on the network with spotty success, about 20%. All we are attempting to do is use the iPad to hit a site hosted on a PC within the same network via IP Address. iPads on the exact same router at the same time running iOS5 work without issue, Android tablets, phones and iPhones on iOS5 or later work just fine.
There has to be a workaround for the iOS6 need to hit https://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html please assist.
Same issue.
I use my private network just to print from my iPad, but as soon as i connect to my wifi, iPad tries to access internet (www.apple.com).
No such issue with ios5.

Won't stay connected to network
Not sure if this is a Safari problem or internal with my Mac somehow. I have a G5 and I connect to a router for wireless internet. I also connect to my printer through the same router.
I've noticed sometimes when I exit safari and then come back to the computer later and click the Safari Icon it sometimes doesn't connect to the internet without me having to go through a "Network Diagnostic" test. Then usually what happens is about half way through the diagnostics my internet home page will load, or I'll get to the end of the diagnostic and it says "your connection is working" and then the home page will appear.
The problem I have now is that my computer won't stay connected to my printer. If I try to print a document or photo it does not send it to the printer, however if I turn Safari on so I know I'm connected to the network then all of a sudden the printer will work.
I guess somehow my computer is automatically disconnecting from my network and I'm not sure why or how to fix it. I've gone into the network preferences an it always shows "airport" is on and I always show all "solid" in the little icon at the top that looks like a "fan".
Any thoughts here on why my comp doesn't seem to stay connected to the network?
Thank you.HI,
Try updating your system software to 10.5.8 with the combo update available here.
http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
After the installation, repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

RV042 Windows incompatibility HTTP Connections between Subnets without Internet access
Hello,
We are a company of the banking sector
We have two RV042 Router.
One of this Router (R1) is configured for restrict users without internet access. This router doesn´t internet connections, the Wan ports are blocked.
Router 1: restricted users
Router 1 IP Lan: 10.22.4.1/24
Router 1 IP Subnet 1: 10.22.1.2/24 (For communication with Web Servers on Lan 10.22.1.0/24)
Pc1: 10.22.4.3/24
DNS: 10.22.4.51/24 (This DNS Server have an Internet connection through subnet 2)
The other router (R2) has an internet connection through the wan port for the access of the DNS Servers for respond to request of clients, and a web server in this subnet
Router 2: Web Server´s LAN and Internet Connection for the DNS Server
Router 2 IP Lan: 10.22.1.1/24
Router 2 IP Subnet 2: 10.22.4.2/24 (For communication with restricted user on Lan 10.22.4.0/24)
Web Server: 10.22.1.60/24
We need to access the web server from the network restricted users.
From Linux Operating System, the access to web server its ok
But, from Windows Operating Systems, we can´t access to web server. Time Out
So, we think that there are some incompatibility between the Router RV042 and the windows operating systems
On the website of microsoft, there is an article regarding an incompatibility issue with the RV042 which could help
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934430
we copied a file attachment.
Thanks, sorry for bad EnglishHi,
Have you also tested configuring static route?
I am asking that, because RV042 does not support VLANs and following that cannot do inter-VLAN routing. Configuring subnet with Multiple Subnet option is only giving access to this subnet to internet. Unless a static route is not configured as where this traffic to be routed in the LAN, the router itself normally will drop the packet.
If it works for you, this leads me to the thought that there is other routes that packets from LAN 10.22.1.0 to LAN 10.22.4.2 (and vice versa) are taking, but not necessarily the routers.
Here I can just give a direction of where to look, but if you think you checked all possibilities, it would be better to contact the support line. They will help as long as the device is under warranty.

Ipad won't stay connected to personal hotspot
ipad mini has issues staying connected to hot spot on iphone 5. i've tried a laptop computer and it stays conected with no issues. When Ipad screen shuts off so does the connection which is fine, but when you turp ipad screen on it won't connect without turning on/off hotspot on iphone5. Any suggestions welcome.
Hello Dcampdr,
It sounds like you are unable to stay connected to your iPhones personal hotspot. I recommend these steps from the following article to help troubleshoot the Wi-Fi connection:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings
If the issue persists, I would next try the troubleshooting in the following article for the iPhone Hotspot connection, even though it works fine with another device:
iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Ipad won't remain connected with network
I can connect our Ipads to our home wireless network (Netgear) without a problem, but they both intermittently drop their logins and have to be manually logged back in. This doesn't happen with my Macbook or my Iphone. What gives? They are both registered in my router.
Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Photosmart eStn C510a Zeen won't stay connected to network long enough to update software
My network connection to my printer works fine; but the zeen connection is intermittent. And will not stay connected long enough to download the software update that it shows is available. Sure wish I could use the USB port on the zeen to accomplish this software update. Even though I do not know if it will fix my intermittent connection problem. I have tried many resets and re-adding my network and re-syncing .....etc.
Hi HankF,
I understand you have a Photosmart C510a and the Zeen doesn't seem to be staying connected to your network very steadily. I'm sorry to hear this, but I will do my best to help you.
Is the printer's connection also intermittent? When the Zeen won't connect, are you still able to print something from the computer?
How close is the Zeen to the router? Has it always been intermittent, or is this a newer development?
Once I have this information I should be able to offer some suggestions

Ipad won't stay connected to wi-fi after iOS 6 install
Has anyone found how to fix the wi-fi on the ipad not staying connected after ios 6 install
Hi all,
Here's what i did to get it back. I did a full power off / power on.
In the WiFi profile, I choose the blue arrow to the right and "Forget this Network". I re-selected my network via the blue arrow and found a setting called "Join to this network in the future" and entered the password but it wouldn't stay connected.
So I went back the Wi-Fi settings and re-selected my network. Then a checkbox next to it showed up.
After that it's stayed connected.
But now I cannot find that slider. It said something like "Always join to this network in the future". -
I purchased a MacBook Pro 13":
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)
I have AT&T DSL with the 2wire wireless connected directly to the dsl line. There is no base computer. I owned a netbook prior to this and had several people use there pc laptops wirelessly before. Now I can't seem to get my Mac to stay connected wirelessly. My iPhone 4, touch and satalite still maintain perfect wireless connection as they did before. I called apple , they said it was my internet, I called AT&T they said it was the Mac. I have a similar post on AT&T, hopefully someone can help! This is NOT how I wanted my first Mac experience to go!!! It is vital I stay connected because I remote in to work constantly and can not be interrupted. Someone PLEASE help!!Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Potential sources of wireless interference -
I would like to create my own Wi-Fi standalone network at an upcoming tradeshow where there will be NO internet access.
Currently, I run and develop sites on my iMac use MAMP to manage my sites locally. Using MAMP, I run my sites as though they are on the internet although everything is local.
I purchased an Airport Express hoping I could create a standalone network so that the iMac would broadcast its website to whatever device connects to it such as my iPhone, iPad and MacBookPro.
However, after setting up the network successfully (I have a green light on the Airport Express, and there is NO internet going through it), I am not able to go any further by logging into the iMac's websites from the other machines. Form my MacBookPro Finder, I can look at files and folders using afp://10.0.1.2, from the Find/Go/Connect to Server utility, but I can't browse the website that is running on the iMac via the Safari browser.
Can anyone help me configure my MacBookPro (or iPad, or iPhone) to run the website on the iMac when they are all on the same network?
Thanks so much!!1) connecting the TC using a ethernet cable from one of the two modem's LAN ports to the TC's WAN port
2) create a new Wi-Fi network using the TC ?
Does someone already create a new Wi-Fi network using its TC connected by Ethernet on a modem/router device ? How do you set up the DHCP (and NAT) ? Which range did you use ?
This is easy enough to do..
Plug the TC directly into a computer.. without other connections to do the setup.
Using the newly installed 5.6 utility.
Bridge the TC.
Create a wireless network.
This is an older screen shot and I would set security to WPA2 Personal only not WPA/WPA2 Personal as shown above.
I do recommend you use wireless names that are short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.
Update the TC..
Now plug it into the modem router.. it will be a part of the network without doing NAT and DHCP itself.. which you do not want.. that leads to double NAT issues.. but it is a WAP that provides access to devices on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands directly to the main router. -
IPad won't stay connected to Mac via USB
I was attempting to install the latest update to my iPad2 via the USB cable connected to my 2013 MacBook Pro Retina with the latest Mavericks and iTunes update installed. I left the download and install to complete overnight as it was taking a long time. When I checked it in the morning, my iPad was in recovery mode. I was supposed to reset the iPad back to factory specs. It would not recognize my last backup at all although it was on my Mac. I was finally able to get the iPad back to its original factory software. I then tried to update to that backup. Somewhere along the line during that effort, the iPad went back into recovery mode again.
Since that time whenever I plug in the iPad using the usb connector to the Mac, the connection begins to fluctuate rapidly on and off. It does not maintain a connection for even a whole second! I then tried connected the iPad using a different USB cable and after that a different USB port. Finally I even tried it using a hub as a go-be-tween. None of these options worked. I then tried connecting the iPad to a power outlet to charge to see if there was a problem there. It connected to power just fine and charged the iPad.
At this point I'm stymied and don't know what else I can or should try. Any help would be appreciated.I can't imagine that this would help but have you tried resetting the iPad and then try recovery mode again? It may not help, but it can't hurt anything at this point. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appear on the screen. After it restarts, try to restore again.
If that fails, do you have another computer that you could use to try to restore on? -
Ipod/ipad won't stay connected to my mini
it's not the cable-
because it happens on my oldstyle ipod touch cable as well as the newer iphone/ipod using the lightning cable.
Both cables are plugged directly into the back of my mini
I've experienced all devices disconnecting themselves in the middle of syncs, especially lengthy chores like updating software or uploading songs.
Thought it had to do with photos on the devices, because of itunes obsession with opening photo downloader and bridge every time I connect, whether there are new photos are not; but that theory fell apart with my ipad, which has no photos, did not trigger any other software and still disconnected several times during sync.
Any ideas?Try resetting the SMC and PRAM

Preferred wifi network won't stay connected
Hi,
I have a 2010 macbook and since updating to Yosemite 10.10.2 the connection to my wifi won't stay connected - tends to last only 3/4 minutes before I have to manually reselect the network. It immediately reconnects without me having to retype the wifi password and the network is the only one in my preferred networks. There were no problems previously and the signal is consistent when other people connect laptops and iPads and I have my iPhone connected to it.
I have had a look at the standard apple troubleshooting guide for network issues but it's pretty useless as it seems to assume that the problem is with the router or with the network provider.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
cheers

Imac won't stay connected to wireless network
I recently moved and now my imac won't stay connected to my wireless network. Every other device connects just fine, so it's not the service, or the location, because devices are all in the same room.
Every time my computer goes to sleep it seems to completely forget how to connect to the internet. There is only one Network (mine) listed in preferred networks. The computer will connect only if I go to System Preferences and run through the Network Diagnostics to tell it exactly what to connect to. Each time it says my connection and internet are fine, which I know.
Please someone tell me how to get it to remember my network so I can stop going through the Diagnostics every time I want to use my internet.Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
Click OK.
If that doesn't work try changing channels on your Router. -
