IPad won't sync all selected Aperture photos

I upgraded to the most recent version of Aperture (3.0.2) and synced over some photos to the iPad. Some projects and albums synced perfectly, but others only brought over a few photos from a selected set, not all of them.
When I select an Aperture project or album to sync in iTunes, the number of photos in a selected project will list to the right. Some projects list the correct number of photos, while others are listing zero, even though there are many photos in the Aperture project.
Why would iTunes not be recognizing all of the photos from a selected project or album? I ran "Update Previews" and "Reprocess Masters" for these sets, just to make sure that they were properly recognized in Aperture, but it still doesn't see them. One project has 372 photos but iTunes only sees 7 of them.
Thanks,
Stacy

I am using Aperture 3.1 and iTunes 10.1 and the syncing simply does not work. I have a fairly large library that I recently imported from iPhoto. It seems to see some smart albums and not others. It seems to see some albums and not others. I also noticed that when I moved the library from iPhoto into Aperture it did not see the folders I used to organize my photos in iPhoto. It does import the photos and albums but not the folders and they do not appear at first.
So my conclusion is there is some flakiness surrounding Aperture and both the importing and sharing features. Anyway I am now in the process of updating the previews ad suggested by others in this discussion and hope this will render my photos visible to iTunes and my ipad which they aren't now. Perhaps I should have stuck with iPhoto,

ipod touch (5th generation) won't sync all selected music in itunes version 12.0.1.  Under the summary tab, I've selected "Sync only checked songs and videos."  In the music tab, I've selected the various albums and artists I want.  I click on "sync," and some albums sync, others do not.  Often, only some tracks of the selected albums sync.  Additionally, some albums sync that I haven't even selected.  My computer's operating system is Windows 8.1.  Please help - thank you!

Providing the songs play OK in iTunes on the computer and you do not have any Restrictions set that wold prevent syncing those songs (Settings>General>Restrictions; iTunes purchases only)
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Ipad won't sync all my photos from new mac

I have an original i-pad which used to sync all photos from my old mac - now I have a new mac and only some of the photos will sync with ipad - some photos are old and some are recent so it;s not an age thing.  Have updated ipad software and that hasn't solved the problem.

    What Dah•veed said.
I've had this problem for weeks now, and only just found that solution last night. There were over 400 photos that wouldn't sync. The only (unavoidable) downside is that your cache has to be rebuilt. If (like us) you have thousands of photos on your device, it can take quite sometime to rebuild. Close to an hour for each of our phones--we don't have exactly the same photos. I'm really not sure how long the second one took becuase we just let it sync and went to bed :-)
There's a kb article below, but it's as per the instructions above.

  • IPad won't sync ALL of my songs

I Have over 2800 songs on my computer .  I was able to sync all of those to my new iPod .  But I am not able to sync all of them to my iPad . It will only sync about 800. i have checked all the same categories in iTunes but it won't sync ... Can someone help me?

    Delete apps or associated data:
Settings > General > Usage    Then wait for "Storage" to refresh.  Be patient - on my full 64G iPad it takes some time.  At the bottom of the app list press "Show All Apps".  Then go through the apps manually one by one to see what you can delete.

  • Ipad won't sync all of photo library.

I have recently bought an iPad 2. I updated it to ios5 and it does not sync my complete iPhoto library. I have ~9000 photos in my library, only about 3000 of which are being transferred to my iPad. There is plenty of space on the iPad 32GB of a 64GB iPad. Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

Similar problem on my iPad2 syncing from by iMac with all the latest updates applied.  On returning from vacation, I purchased and updated iPhoto 9.2, and also updated my iPad to IOS5 and my iMac to the latest iTunes.  I don't think the iTunes/iPad sync ever completed, befor or after the iPhoto update.
I edited/merged a number of Events with iPhoto 9.2, including importing the camera roll from the iPad that included photos taked on the iPad plus photos taken on a Sony camera that I had also imported to the iPad camera roll.  Everything worked OK with iPhoto on the iMac, resulting in new Events that contained both iPad and camera photographs within each event: exactly what I wanted.
However, iTunes Sync of Photos was and still is a train-wreck.  I tried multiple times, with multiple iPad and iTunes hangs with various "waiting" messages that never ended.  I trashed and recreated the iPod Photo Cache on iTunes but it took some serious work.  I actually had to use my iPod to create a new iPod Phot Cache because iTunes would not communicate with the iPad2 to get a rebuild.  After the rebuild with the iPod, I then was able to toggle between no photos, single event, all events on the iPad, and things "almost" worked.  Currently it looks like all or most of the photos in iTunes (19000+) show up on the iPad2 (only about 14000+ showed in the sync message on iTunes while it was syncing).  However, on the iPad if I look at Photos, most of them appear OK, but in the Events view, many of the recent events that I created with iPhoto are empty, even though the photos are there for most or all of them.  It looks like the Event to Photos cross-reference is damaged on the iPad.   There is no problem at all with the Event to Photos cross-reference on iPhoto.

  • IPad won't sync all my contacts from address book?

I've sync'd my iPad a few times in an attempt to get all my contact from the Address book, but it will only sync 35 f them and not the 130+ I have in address book.
    Any ideas on that one?

I have the weirdest thing going. I create a contact on my iPad, sync with my Airbook, it does not show up in the Airbook but is still in the iPad. Then I sync with my iPhone and guess what, it appears in the iPhone but still not in the Airbook.
Does not matter which ticks I click in iTunes, same thing happens over and over.
I had moved to iCloud 2 weeks ago but it started doing the same thing Mobile-Me used to do and so I turned everything off.
I can't figure this one out, heading over to the Genius bar. Last time I went with a similar problem in the Calendar they told me Lion still had a few issues and that after a certain number of syncs, the entire libraries need to be physically erased and reinstalled.

  • IPad won't sync all movies

I am trying to sync my iPad with my movies brought from iTunes but not all will transfer. Why?

Do you have enough space free? Movies are fairly big. I only ever have 1 or 2 at a time.
Is your iPad using the same Apple ID as your iTunes?
    Do other purchases sync ok?

  • IPad won't sync all of my calendars through iCloud

I've created several calendars on my Mac: one for each kid, work, etc. When I got my iPad, I set it to use iCloud for my calendars. Unfortunately, it chose 2 of the 7 calendars to update. How do I get it to do all of them?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type.  Why does it reject some and accept others?

The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type.  Why does it reject some and accept others?

Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
    Any advice gratefully received!

  • HT204053 I have just bought a new iPad but I can't see how I can sync all my iPhone photos that are stored on the iCloud onto my iPad. Can someone help?

I have just bought the new iPad but can't see how I would sync all my iPhone photos that are stored on iCloud onto my iPad. Can someone help?

Photos on the camera roll can be included in an icloud backup from an iOS device (if camera roll is turned on).  But getting the photos back from a backup is risky.  Many users have performed restore operations from a backup only to discover the photos were not returned.  icloud is primarily used to sync photos to other devices using photo stream - but only new photos taken after the stream is turned on in Settings>icloud will actually be synced, not old photos.
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage,  tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album).  You can then sync the photos to the iPad.

  • Like many others, I got the new iPad 3 and couldn't sync all of my photos.  The best i got was 1,000 out of 15,000 to work.  Today Apple released iTunes 10.6.1.7 and said the syncing issue was resolved.  I erased my ipod cache and hit sync.  Still locked.

Like many others, I got my new IPad 3 and could not sync all of my photos.  The highest I got was 1,000 out of 15,000.  Today Apple released iTunes 10.6.1.7 that , among other things, said it fixed the sync issue with photos.  I excitedly, erased my ipod cache and hit sync.  It looked like it was working, but just like before iTunes locked.  This time at 2,244 of 15,000.  Anybody have an idea of how to fix this?

What's the capacity of your iPad?
iTunes needs up to 3x of the actual size of the files you want to sync during the sync process. And syncing 15.000 photos could cross the size of the available free space on your device.
Don't forget that the pictures are now optimized for the retina display, so the size increases for each of them.

  • My ipad won't sync photos, need help please

my ipad won't sync photos anymore, anyone out there can help

You could try clearing the photo cache.
You could also try a reset of the iPad and see if photos sync after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPad doesn't sync all photos + earlier iPhoto versions work with iPad

    1. I have my iPad set to sync with iPhoto, but the iPad doesn't have all of the photos that are in iPhoto. I get a message that it can't sync IMG_0026.JPG so I wonder if when that photo is reached the sync just stops. Could this be the reason?
    2. Also as these problems started after my most recent iPhoto 8.1.x update and for other reasons, I'm planning on dumping iPhoto 8 and going back to an earlier version such as iPhoto 5. Is anyone here using iPhoto 5 or 6 with their iPad?

OK. I removed the photo and everything else seems to have synced fine. So question 1 is answered.
    Now what about question #2?

  • The New iPad will not sync all photo's

I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.
Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.
It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.
I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's  which sync the photo's just fine.

Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version.  You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution.  For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows.  I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers.  It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types.
