Ipad won't synch after restore

I have noticed that the only way to address my wifi issues on my iPad, is to do a reset of all settings and then restore from a backup through iTunes. So when I tried to do that last time,  the first part, the restore of the iPad works fine, but after automatIc restart, when iTunes is supposed to put all the media and apps back on my iPad, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPad as a restored one, and instead says welcome to your new iPad again.
All software is updated, I have tried multiple times, restarted my computer etc. Very frustrating since now I have an iPad without all my apps and media, and which iTunes won't recognize.
Anyone have any tips? Thx.

Thanks,
so hat so what is happening is that after the initial restore and restart, it should start synching and putting all apps and media on there. However, in this case, that second part doesn't happen, iTunes still says 'welcome to your new iPad'. When I click restore from backup that second time, same thing happens, it does a restore in about 10 mins, but then never synchs. When I unplug it, it has all my settings but just the 'basic/apple' apps (mail, safari, messages). When I plug it back in, it treads it like a new iPad, and want to restore from a backup.
I feel a little bit like the movie 'Groundhog Day', stuck in the same circle. I have done many iPhone or iPad restore but never had this problem.

My iPad won't charge after plugging into my computer and after holding down the power and home button at same time for 10 seconds… Can anybody help? Has IOS7.0 but not the most up-to-date version

It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time

  • Both iPod and iPad won't connect after update.

Both iPod and iPad won't connect after update.  iTunes says "can't allocate a resource"

I had the same problem after updating to iOS 7 today. I did follow the advice on another site, but additionally rebooted my iMac. Worked after that.
Follow these steps to reset the Lockdown folder:
Disconnect all iOS devices from your computer and quit iTunes.
From the Finder, choose Go > Go to folder.
Type the following and then press Return:
    /var/db/lockdown.
The Finder window should display one or more files with long alphanumeric file names.
In the Finder, choose Edit > Select all. Then, choose File > Move to Trash. Enter an administrator password if prompted.
Note: Do not delete the Lockdown folder itself. Delete only the files contained inside the Lockdown folder.
Reconnect your iOS device and open iTunes
My Additional step: reboot the Mac. Your iPad should give the first indication that it has worked by asking you to "trust this computer" or some such. Agree. Then iTunes should have reopened with your iPad showing and syncing.

  • My new ipod won't synch or restore

My new ipod won't synch. It comes up need to restore, then can't be restored.  Error code 9.  Security disabled.

Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • Yahoo! Mail Account Won't Add After Restore

After restoring my iPad through iTunes, my Yahoo! Mail account won't add back. When I restored, restoring from a backup crashed my iPad so I created a new one and lost all my data. I go to Settings > Mail Contacts And Calendars > Add Account > Yahoo! I type in all my data, I know the password is correct because I can log in on Safari. I tap the next button and it presents me with the error dialog "Server Unavailable, please try again later." I must have tried this 20+ times. I've waited for weeks and it has been to no avail. Please help.

I found out that older Yahoo! accounts no longer work on iOS devices. You'll have to update to the latest version of Yahoo! mail. Unfortunatly, some people (including me) can't update to the latest version at this point in time. It's understandable because I've had m Yahoo! account since 1998. Maybe they dropped support for updating?

  • Ipad won't start after updating to ios 8.1.3

My iPad was working without issue prior to updating to IOS 8.1.3 yesterday. After updating, not only would the ipad not start, it produced intermittent tones. The tone heard when device is plugged into an outlet for charging.
I attempted to turn the device off but it would not respond. Afterwards, a reboot was attempted numerous times by holding the home and sleep buttons down simultaneously. Once the Apple logo appeared the buttons were released, the logo disappeared but the device remained dormant.
While connected to iTunes and emitting the connection tones, periodically the splash screen would appear momentarily then turn off. I was able to swipe the screen on one of these occasions. The device worked properly until it was turned off after use at which time it would not turn on again and remains unable to turn on. It does not respond to attempts to turn it off or rebooting.
Prior to the update I did backup the device in case something like this would occur. Since I appear to have exhausted all my options to get the device to work, I feel the only remaining option is to restore it to factory default. I would appreciate advice from anyone who may either have experienced this same issue and found a resolution, or can provide thoughts on how I should proceed please.
If I proceed with a restore to factory default followed by a restore of the most recent backup, will I lose any data during this process? This will be my first time to erase a device so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I would, of course, prefer an alternative resolution. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello, Tony.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPad no long starts after an update and you have a backup for your iPad.  It sounds like you will need to restore the device to factory and then will have the option to access your backup after the restore complete.  The only information that should be missing would be after the backup was completed until the device is restored.  I have included the steps for going through this process in the articles below.

  • Ipad won't charge after upgrade to 7.1.2

Apple recommened install update.  After the update started having problem battery won't charge.  I took it to the apple store last July 13 they did hard reset it work for one day and went back to the same problem won't charge.  Please help

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good. If your computer/iTunes does not recognize the iPad, then the cable is probably bad.
Try this first -  Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • IMacs won't start after restore

I have a lab of 40 iMacs with different accounts and permissions for each class I teach. At the end of each term I restore all the Macs from one Mac that I keep clean and updated just the way I want it. This way I can start clean. The process has worked well until this term. With the new upgrade, I have a few computers that won't restart after a restore. I've tried again and they seem to be restored using disk restore, but stall out on a screen with an Apple. I get no clock like spin. A few have worked the second time.
I've checked the drive with disk utility on the CD/DVD and there seems to be no disk problem. Running permissions of the cd/dvd just hangs up.
    Any help will be appreciated.

The Finder won't tell you the status of the clock batteries unless they are completely drained. Partially drained batteries can cause misbehavior like this. You have to open the computer up and remove the clock battery and test it with a battery tester to see they aren't partially drained.

  • IMac won't startup after restore from time machine

After I restore my backup from time machine ( twice ) mi iMac halt at startup and won't startup. It stuck at the apple logo forever.  I also restarted holding down command R safe mode and install OS X and it will startup okay but can't see my buck up files and applications here. Then I restore from time machine again using an earlier backup and it won't startup again. Please any help I will appreciate.

There could be a few reasons for this.
First what version of OS X do you have installed?
What version of OS X is the Time Machine Backup file from?
Did Reinstalling OS X from Recovery install the same version you had before reinstalling?
If you have not changed OS X versions then:
It sounds like there may be a bad file in the backup that is causing the computer to not startup after restoring it. This is especailly true if the computer boots just fine after a fresh installation of OS X, but without the Migrated Data being restored.
If that is the case, then the solution is not a quick one. You have to hunt down the bad file.
Moving Files Manually (Not in Migration Assistant)
Manually access your Time Machine backup folder from within Finder (you should see the backup drive in a Finder Window or on your Desktop). Once open, manually move data from the User folder (documents, music, movies, photos etc.) into their respective folders on the Mac. Reboot after each folder you move to see which folder contains the corrupted file then delete the affected folder/file after reinstalling OS X from Recovery.
If none of the files cause the computer to hang at startup after moving all your User data, then the issue is from within the System or Library folders.
NOTE: DO NOT manually move Applications, System, or System Library files over to the Mac. You can cause major issues with the current installation by doing so. It is safer to just reinstall all the Apps from wherever you got them so they can recreate their support files and such themselves.
    2- Using Migration Assistant
Basically, if you have discovered the affected file. You can just simply delete it from the backup folder.
Reinstall OS X after you have done that, and use Migration Assistant to automatically migrate the data over minus the affected file/folder.
Its a pain in the rear, but it will at least let you salvage most of your data.
Let me know what happens riorec!

  • New iPad won't activate after resetting

iPad won't activate thru iTunes after erasing all content and settings. iPad is back at the Welcome screen like when it was new, but go thru iTunes to set it up and no activation.

    Can't activate by signing in.
I can't even get to that point. After I enter a wifi password the iPad goes to activate and that's where everything stops with: Can not activate a this time. Please try again later. I've tried a million and 6 times, there is no later...
Also noticed that the serial# listed for the iPad in iTunes is N/A. After a few minutes of trying it gives me the above message. It also shows a lock near the message in iTunes. This shows that somehow the iPad is still locked after I erased all data and wanted to completely start from scratch?

  • Mail program won't open after restore

My Mail program wont open after restoring my phone. It goes to the blank main screen then closes. I have restored it 4 times and still no luck. Any Ideas?

Reboot (not turn off and on).
Press and hold BOTH the home and lock buttons. Keep holding. Don't let go when it says slide to unlock. Don't let go until you see the Apple Logo.
Turning off or on just puts to hibernation and back. Any issues remain. Not sure why a restore didn't fix it, but you should always do a reboot before trying a restore. Far easier and fixes just about all glitches.

  • IPhone won't activate after restore

Can't activate my iPhone 4S after restoring it to factory settings on iOS 6. It's been 12 hours now. I tried restoring it several times through iTunes and so far no luck. Feel very frustrated. What do I do?
This is the message that gets displayed when I try to activate the phone:
"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable."

I had the same issue, and just took took it to the Apple Store.  They had the same problem and ended up replacing my phone.

  • Curve 8310 and Desktop Manager won't synch after phone OS upgrade

I have seen this same topic on a number of forums but nobody has posted a sensible resolution.
I recently upgraded the OS on my 8310 to 4.5.0.180 only to find that it caused problems synching with DM 4.7. – the DM would not recognise that I had a device connected, despite my laptop recognising it.  I upgraded to DM 5.0.1.37 but this caused an error message on starting the software - “before you begin verify that your current device is connected to your computer”.
I checked the support forums and there were details there of how to clean uninstall and reinstall the software, which I’ve done, twice, the second time going back to 4.7.  That doesn’t work despite it being a monumental hassle to do.
Vodafone, my network, suggest that I roll back the device OS, but I can’t do that without access to DM.  It’s a catch 22.
There’s obviously a glitch in the software where the device and DM are not able to see each other.  That’s a RIM problem and one that there seems to be no published answer to on the support forums other than weird stuff involving rewriting stuff in the bowels of my laptop, which I'm not in any way qualified to do.
Vodafone will “repair” the device for me (probably swap it), but this means that i will be without a phone while they do so and that’s something that I am not happy about.
RIM developed and released the device OS that has caused the problem, so is it reasonable to expect that RIM have an answer to it?  If so, can someone put me out of my misery – a device that won’t synch with Outlook is not a smartphone.
