IPad Won't synch Contacts

The box is checked in "Info" tab of iTunes, but I've tried to synch the iPad contacts multiple ways (google, yahoo, outlook). Nothing's working. I sych all my iPods including Touch and nanos just fine in this same iTunes from Outlook, but I can't get iPad to list them. Is there some internal iPad setting?

Okay, I finally got this to work. Seems the answer was a combo of two things. First, I said I was using Outlook Express. The settings have always chosen Outlook for my email, contacts, and calendar. Had to change contacts to come from the windows address book. There are no calendar entries anyway. Email doesn't really synch from the computer, it comes from the mail server, so that is working. The bookmarks also were not synching which makes no sense. So the second thing is I went back through again and set the settings to NOT synch anything on the Info tab and applied the settings/synched. Then I changed the contacts to windows address book and checked off all the items and also said to replace the iPad items from the PC. Then I synched and this time everything worked. I had tried it previously but the only change was Windows address book. That seemed to be clogging something.
Good luck with your troubles.

  • Phone won't Synch contacts and calendar

HELP!!  So, my phone recognizes my PC (and likewise), but won't transfer anything over (including my contacts and calendar) when synchronizing.  It's giving all appearances of synching, but when finished, nothing is showing up on my phone.  The phone is showing 14.83GB available space on the SD card, and I get a message on my PC (Vcast), "ERROR:  VMMModeselection.exe - no disk  - There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into drive D:"  Never had a disk, so I'm not sure what to do about that?  Where do I go from here to insure things are transferring from my PC to my HTC Droid?

    Dear Adam,
I am having a similar issue with my Incredible, however mine is with the exchange active sync. I sync my calendar and contacts only, no email. If I have a new calendar item it will sync with no issues. If someone sends an update to that item, that item is then duplicated on my phone's calendar. I checked my settings and for Resolve Conflict I have choosen Replace items on phone. I have been using this tpye of sync for the last 6+ months with no issues. This just started happening in the last month or so. I have deleted the account and added it again and the first sync is fine. In addition, when I have a calendar item in outlook canceled, it does not cancel the item on my phone calander. I believe sometime in late November or early December my phone prompted me to complete a software update. Since then, I have been noticing this issue and it is driving me CRAZY! Do you have any advice?
    Thanks,

  • Ipad won't synch after restore

I have noticed that the only way to address my wifi issues on my iPad, is to do a reset of all settings and then restore from a backup through iTunes. So when I tried to do that last time,  the first part, the restore of the iPad works fine, but after automatIc restart, when iTunes is supposed to put all the media and apps back on my iPad, iTunes doesn't recognize my iPad as a restored one, and instead says welcome to your new iPad again.
All software is updated, I have tried multiple times, restarted my computer etc. Very frustrating since now I have an iPad without all my apps and media, and which iTunes won't recognize.
    Anyone have any tips? Thx.

    Thanks,
so hat so what is happening is that after the initial restore and restart, it should start synching and putting all apps and media on there. However, in this case, that second part doesn't happen, iTunes still says 'welcome to your new iPad'. When I click restore from backup that second time, same thing happens, it does a restore in about 10 mins, but then never synchs. When I unplug it, it has all my settings but just the 'basic/apple' apps (mail, safari, messages). When I plug it back in, it treads it like a new iPad, and want to restore from a backup.
I feel a little bit like the movie 'Groundhog Day', stuck in the same circle. I have done many iPhone or iPad restore but never had this problem.

  • IPhone 5 won't synch Contacts with Yahoo Mail

I have Yahoo Mail and an iPhone 5s with iOS 7.0.4.
I cannot get Contacts to flow from one to the other. In SETTINGS I have both iCloud & Yahoo! as Accounts. I disabled CONTACTS in iCloud.
For the Yahoo Account I have Mail, Contact6s, Calendars, Reminders and Notes all active (Green).
Does iTunes play a role in getting the Contacts to Synch?
I cannot get New Contact I enter into my iPhone to "flow" to Yahoo! and I cannot get New Contacts I enter into Yahoo! to "flow" to my iPhone.
NOTE: I'm askingon behalf of my Lady Friend who has the iPhone 5.  I have an iPhone 4S & all works fine.

make sure you have the same email adresses with both devices and enabled. And make sure both icloud accounts are the sam and are enabled on both. You can check this by going to settings>icloud>and check the account and calendar is enabled on both devices

  • Ipad won't synch...

I am getting this message when I try to synch my ipad. "The ipad "blah blah" cannot be synched. The required file cannot be found. Any suggestions to eradicate this...

I've the same problem and message.  I'm told that it's probably a corrupted file (ie recently downloaded photo) and that I should:
    go to finder
    then places
    then open computer id
    then pictures folder
then ipod cache - and put into trash.
....then synch all except photos and restart itunes.
BUT I can find no trace of places in finder!!
    Help much appreciated!

  • IPad won't sync contacts

I have tried to plug it into my mac and doing a manual sync, but still it didn't work.

First, can you see the contacts in itunes on your mac? Verify that they are there first.

  • Yahoo contacts won't synch iMac MtLion OR iPad 6.0.1. Others recently?

Synching Yahoo! contacts was working fine until two days ago.  Now my iMac contacts gives message (Mt Lion 10.8.2.)
    (CoreDAVHTTPStatusErrorDomain error 400.)
and my iPad 6.0.1 won't update contacts either.
I've called Apple support and they suggest contact Yahoo!.  Anyone else having problem recently? It was synching/updating two/three days ago.
I've tried leaving only one simple contact in Yahoo! contacts, removing yahoo account completely from iMac (and iPad), changing user permissions, restarts of all devices, and resetting Safari.
This only is happening with Yahoo. Gmail/Outlook are synching fine on iMac and iPhone.
Also Yahoo! calendars isn't synching and gives error message:
    CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “Yahoo!” failed.
iCal isn't a problem since I don't use it, but contacts synching working again is important.

No Still the same problem. On my old Macbook Pro with Lion it works like a charm. On Mountain Lion I am still having issues.

  • IPad Contacts won't synch.

My Contacts info will not synch between IPad and Mac or between IPad and IPhone. Mac to IPhone works ok. I have checked iCloud settings, have turned Contacts off and on on the IPad. Notes synch ok between IPhone and IPad. Mail is ok.
The only clue I can offer is that, 2 weeks ago, I tried synching the IPhone to the Mac using a cable rather than the iCloud, and had to stop the synch in the middle because too many photos were being downloaded. A number of my Apps disappeared on the IPhone at the same time, and I had to reload them manually.
Does any of this make any sense? Does anyone have any useful suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have found the answer to my own question. I had created a new iCloud account with my apple ID and this seemed to confuse the synch. I deleted this ID from the ipad and reverted to my me.com account, then synced with iCloud over wifif instead of itunesn hrough hard wire and presto, all my contacts are now on my iPad!

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 pr later for iTunes.

iPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 or later  for iTunes.  Mac iOS version 10.5.8 and iTunes on Mac is 10.6.1. iPad and iPhone version is 6.0(10A403). When I check for updates on the Mac book pro it says software versions are up to date.
When I check for iTunes version  10.6.3 it looks like it is for snow leopard operating system which I am not on. How to I get my devices to sync with computer. Everything worked prior to iOS 6 upgrade on remote devices.

    I'm having the same problem.
iPhone 4s won't sync with my Macbook Pro.
I iust updated the iPhone to iOS6 (thought it wasn't syncing before the update either).
Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.8
iTunes 10.6.3 (i.e. latest update - which hasn't had an issues apart from syncing).
I tried 3 different USB sync cables. Still not syncing.
Do I really have to update my Mac OS to 10.6.8 in order to sync my phone ? I thought as long as you have iTunes 10.6.3 you're ok...
Is there a way to update to Mac OS 10.6.8 (or later) without wiping the hard drive and doing a new install?..
    thanks

  • I want to delete my gmail on my iPad, yet my iPad won't allow me to access the option. I went on my iPad settings Mail, Contacts, Calendars, although i cannot tap on iCloud, Gmail, or Add Account... How do i fix this?

I want to delete/sign out my gmail on my Ipad, but my ipad won't allow me to delete it.
    Example:
I tapped on Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, although I cannot tap on iCloud, Gmail, and Add Account...
    how do I fix this?

Sorry, you said Gmail. If that's the case, you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • HT1918 After seven ios updates, why is iBooks still the only app that won't synch between iphone & ipad?!?

After seven ios updates, why is iBooks still the only app that won't synch between iphone & ipad?!?

    Hi there,
Thanks for the reply.  I did think that could be the case but then other books would also show up as apps on phone but not counted as an app.  Maybe book apps downloaded from the app store work in this way whereas books bought from the ibooks app show in ibooks and not as apps.
I guess that would make sense, it must be because they are books but downloaded from the app store rather than the book store so they are visible as an app but don't actually get counted as an app.
Would you think that's the case too?
    Thanks
    Adam

  • My IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

my IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

Yes I have put in the correct password, its all numbers so can't get it wrong really.
It has connected before as has my iPod and that won't connect either. I have checked that they aren't on the blocked list of the wi fi. Managed to download the new version of iOS and that hasn't made a difference.
I have the wi fi plugged directly into the computer rather than the booster hub as the computer won't connect to it when its in the hub. I did get the iPad to connect to the internet when it twas in the hub but once I upgraded the iOS it won't accept the wifi password in the hub either.

  • Contacts won't synch with Outlook

I have a Macbook with snow leopard, an iphone 3GS.  I have been synching the phone with outlook for a long time.  When Outlook 2011 came out there was a problem with synching but the next update fixed it.  Now ALL my contacts have dissappeared from the MAC and I can't get them from Outlook to contacts on the MAC so they won't synch with the iphone. Any ideas on how to get them looking at eachother again?

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums
First start basic, while device is connected, on your computer go to Start > Programs > Palm (or PalmOne) > Select Sync with Outlook.
Next step will possibly require your Outlook 2003 installation disk. Make sure you have it before doing this next step otherwise you will not be able to sync to Outlook until disk is inserted into your computer. Moving foward, on your computer (while mobile device is connected) open Outlook. In Outlook go to Help > Detect and Repair. You will need to click a button to start the detect and repair. Sometime it will fix itself by doing this, other times Outlook will ask for the installation disk to resolve the issue.
If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Outlook.
