Hey. So I tried to update my iPad to 7.0.6 I think but it said there was an error and now my iPad screen is stuck on the iTunes Logo and the cable. I've tried turning it off by holding down the lock button and the home button but when it turned back on, it was the same screen and iTunes won't recognise my iPad. Help please!

Your iPad is in Recovery Mode.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

I need help getting my Ipad to turn on after trying to restore from an ICloud backup. My Ipad is up to date on software. I went back to factory setting and that worked. Then when I tried to restore from an ICloud backup, it started the process and somehow got frozen in the process. After a few hours, I pressed the button athe the top and the home button simultaneously and turned it off. When I turned it back on all that comes on is a black screen with an apple in the middle of the screen with a bar below it that is only about a quarter complete. Please help me.

It sounds like you need to restore your iPad and you will probably need recovery mode now.

After I upgraded my Ipad to the new os 4.2.1 it won't turn on. Before upgrading we all know that you turn it on by clicking the on and off switch or pushing the belly button in the middle, but now nothing happens at all. I have found that if I hold both for 10 seconds or so it does boots up but this can't be the norm for everybody is it? Does anybody have a fix for this? Any help would be appreciated.

I posted the same thing on another thread. Everything else was working fine and the for sure I had lots of power.
But, and I know it makes me sound like a *******......., it's back working again.
I "think" I did the following.
At the home screen, I started the photo frame and that's when it worked. Not sure what triggered it.
This is totally bizarre as I had restored the entire system and it still wasn't working. Maybe something internal is a little "loose" but I doubt there's much that ain't solid state or hard wired in there.
I am absolutely dumbfounded by this. Last one to touch it was me, my son was playing the MX Mayhem, he went swimming and left the iPad on the sofa. I retrieved it, screwed around with it and nothing. Came back to the iMac and was searching the forums. Pressed the home button activated the photoframe (somewhat accidentally) and wham, it just worked.
Strange things are afoot at the circle K.
BTW, last app I added was SBS Tour de France Tracker if that caused anything.

I restored my iPad 2 running iOS 6 from a backup I made this past Sunday (on iTunes 10.7 for Windows). I left it alone and let it do it's thing. When I came back my iPad 2 was off. When I tried to turn it on, the Apple logo appeared for about 20 seconds and then it simply shut off.
I can't get my iPad 2 to turn on. Any ideas?

I've just updated my iPod touch 5th generation to the iOS 8.1.1. (or whatever the newest update is) but once it updated, it now won't turn back on. I've tried plugging it into multiple chargers and computers just in case it wasn't charged, and tired turning it on, but all I get is the apple logo and nothing's happening. What can I do? I haven't backed it up this month and I don't want to loose all my stuff. Thanks.

Try the following. It is very likely that the iPod will have to be erased:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

In the future make sure yo backup before updating. I always backup to both iTunes and iCloud before updating .

Hi! So, I was trying to update my iPhone 4, but after everything had finished downloading and backing up, the "SIM card is not supported" message came up, so I turned my phone off, and tried to turn it on again, but it wouldn't. I tried to do that home button + lock button thing, but even that isn't working. My phone isn't jailbroken or unlocked as far as I know, but it was an Apple store replacement after my last one started having problems. My phone has never shown any problems before and my last update was complete fine.

I had same issue with replacement iPhone 4 and got it replaced last week. Tried update tonight and same issue sim card not supported!! Apple guys at store had no idea and told me to go to ATT to get new sim card but I said no let's test sim card here. We did and sim card was fine. We then tried his sim card on my phone and it was not recognized! Do the same to get new phone but don't update iOS 5. Until they fix it. I heard it's a bad bunch of replacement phones with serial code issues which is exposed after update. Good luck!

It was working fine until the battery died, and after charging for a moment, it will start turning on, but when it gets to the home screen, it only shows for a second before immediately turning off again. I'm using a 1A charger and was wondering if that was the issue, or if there is something wrong with my iPad.

After updating to ios7 on my iPad, it would keep resetting itself and show the apple logo until finally starting up. Over a few days this got worse and worse and eventually stopped working where I would have to hold the home and on/off buttons to reset it. I have now reached a point where it no longer starts up. Having went to an apple store they say they can't identify the issue as they can't start it up and offered me to pay £199 to have it replaced (how very nice of them). I have had online chats with an advisor and a senior advisor who have diagnosed this as a 'hardware' issue!!!
Guess what apple, no it is not, this is a result of the updgrade to ios7!!! My iPad worked perfect before and I will not be paying £199 to replace it!!!
If anybody else has had similar problems please let me know.

IPhone 3G Won't Turn On After OS 4.0 Update

A little background about my iPhone 3G to help you guys out -- the sleep/wake button hasn't worked in a few months, so if, say, Safari freezes, I let the battery die out to restart my phone. A major pain, I know.
Tonight I decided to update through iTunes to the OS 4.0. It seemed as if everything was going well, but after about an hour of backing up and installing, my phone is now permanently turned off seeming to have never restarted from the update. To make matters worse, it is no longer recognized by iTunes or my PC. As stated, the sleep/wake button doesn't work so a hard reset or restore is physically impossible. Does anyone have suggestions on how to restore the phone back to the previous OS?
I'm currently trying to reinstall iTunes as I type this.

After several hours of various numerical error messages, freezing loop, iTunes not recognizing the 3G, rebooting the computer (iMac), hard resets, etc, I forced it off and went to bed. Today I found that while iTunes still would not recognize the phone as it would normally, it did when I unplugged and then plugged in the phone. The phone was then restored ( 4.0 was obviously installed last night and then went into a loop). I refused backup, restored OS, but did not continue to restore from back up. The phone is now operational and synced via mobile me, however no apps than system. Based on the latter I will not allow iTunes to restore my backup until this problem is resolved. Some of the said apps are used for business, but I have the iPad to sync them with in the interi.
