my ipad connects to my laptop but wont connect to my itunes on my laptop why is that?? any help???

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4". Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files. Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen. Do you not have a backup? The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

Device's wont connect to itunes

Since i updated Itunes both my devices wont connect to itunes (Ipod and Iphone).
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes.
I have stopped and restarted Apple mobile device in my service settings.
The devices both connect to my computer and I have used 3 different cables and used every USB port I have with no luck.
When running diagnostics from Itunes everything is coming up fine apart from it is saying no device is connected.

HT1212 okay so i entered the wrong passcode cause i forgot it for a while . i just remembered my passcode but now it is too late and it wont connect to itunes an the message on my ipod saying disabled will not go away . ):

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Hi my name is Jesus Orozco about 3 months ago. I found an Ipad. I gave it to the owner of the bar I work at.
We waited to see if the owner would come back and ask for the Ipad back. Never came to ask for it back. The
owner let me have it. Now it wont connect to Itunes or let it charge. I was wondering if you guys can master rest the
Ipad. So I can use it for school.

You will still need to connect it to a computer that is running iTunes in order to unlock it (and you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808) - if you have some of your content on your computer you can then copy it back. Also depending on which country that you are in you might also be able to re-download some of your iTunes purchases if you don't have copies of them.

The error message says that iPad cannot connect to iTunes because of a passcode, but I dont have a passcode.

So I recently got an iPad 2 and everything was fine until I tried plugging it into my computer (which I didnt do when I got it). If you cannot access the iPad because of the passcode, you have no choice but to restore it using the same steps that you would use if you forgot the passcode.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
