IPad wont take a charge

Two weeks ago I let my iPad batter get so low that it powered off completely. When I got home i plugged it in to charge. I used the same power cord and adapter i've used for the two months I've had it. My iPad wont take a charge, at all. I thought maybe it was the cord or the adapter so I bought new ones and it still wont take a charge. I've tried different outlets, as well as trying to plug it into my computer and nothing seems to work. The only thing I did different in the week before it powered off was that I upgraded to ios 7.
I'm hoping someone might have an idea that helps.

And what have you tried in the way of troubleshooting? Use another cable, another charger, checked the port on the end of the iPad, tried a different wall, socket, not use your computer - because it may be charging from the computer but very, very slowly .....
Maybe a little more information from you ....????

  • Out of the box my new Tablet Z2 wont take anny charge..

    Hi!
Out of the box my new Tablet Z2 don't take any charge. I have charged it a few of hours now but the charging LED don't turn on.
I have tested to charge my phone with the sony charger provided within the box and it works.
I have also tested to charge with an other USB cabel but that dont seem to work either.
Thanks for your help! // Oscar

Before taking it back to the store you could just try to press and hold the power button and volume up at the same time until the tablet vibrates. Then try to start it up as normal again. If it still doesn't start, I would suggest that you follow the advice above and take it back to the store.

  • My iPod (4th) wont take a charge from a laptop

Hi, I bought a 4th gen iPod.  I have a 2yr old laptop with USB 2.0 ports.  The iPod is recognised in iTunes, it syncs, but it won't take a charge.  When connected it flashes orange, if I eject the unit in the system tray it goes to solid orange.  It doesn't, however go green, it stays solid orange.  Is it faulty , can it be charged on a iPhone charger?
Any help is greatly appreciated as this is an xmas present for my little girl.  I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure out what.
    Thanks, J

    - Try another cable.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I need help getting my iPad to take a charge.

When I plug my Ipad into to charge.  It will not charge it just "dings" at me.  Anyone out there have this happen?
I have tried trading out the cord and used different wall outlets.  Nothing works Help

If you have changed cords, have you also changed chargers?
Have you checked with a small strong light to see if you can see any lint clogging the connector port on the iPad itself?
If nothing like that is successful, take the iPad and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system.

  • How long should my iPad 3 take to charge

How long should it take my iPad with retina display to charge?  It takes about 15 hours to charge now from being dead.

    FYI
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. My nano jsut stopped taking a charge. Says connect to power.... tried three different chargers all with the same result.
    Any suggestions

Considering it's a 3G Nano (which makes it a bit older), it's likely that the iPod's battery is shot and in need of replacement.  You can have the battery replaced by Apple for a flat fee or you can send it in to a third party repair center for a little less.

If your iPod shuffle is not charging, first try to reset it:

  • My ipad wont turn on or show battery level when charging

I dont know what to do, my iPad wont show up in iTunes, the computer doesnt recognise it, the battery icon wont show up when it is plugged in and it doesnt turn on.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
