IPad WPA Enterprise connection

I am setting up a bunch of iPads at work and I keep getting "Unable to Join Network" when I try to login to the WPA Enterprise network. I successfully set up about 8, but for some reason I still can't get this one going. I have tried reseting the network settings, reseting the iPad to factory condition... nothing seems to work. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Try updating the WLAN drivers and see if it helps.

  • WPA Enterprise Connectivity

Hi - I'm currently in Baton Rouge, LA and attend school at LSU. Our wireless network, lsusecure, is WPA Enterprise, which is supposed to be compatible with iPhone 2.0. The problem is, I can't seem to connect to the network. I enter my LSU username and password, which works for connecting on a computer, and it consistently says "connecting to lsusecure" but nothing ever happens. I was just wondering if I will have to enter in more information about the network rather than just using my regular login information. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it, as Tech Services at LSU currently has no information on how to connect.

Guidedbyvoip, sorry your IT Dept is no help.
But, here at LSU, we are here to help! Hope these directions can work for you as well, instead of needing a 3rd party config util!
ccastl1, please follow the following directions to configure your iPhone to connect to our LSUSECURE wireless network.
Note: The device must be updated to firmware 2.0 in order to connect to lsusecure
    1. Select "Settings"
    2. Select "Wi-Fi"
    3. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. If the device is connected to any other network other than lsusecure (it will usually connect to lsuwireless first) you must remove that network before connecting to lsusecure.
    4. Select the network it is connected to by pressing on the blue arrow to the right of the name.
    5. Select "Forget this Network"
    6. Choose "Forget Network"
    7. Select lsusecure
    8. Enter your PAWS Username & Password and press "Join" at the bottom right of the keyboard.
    9. Accept the certificate by pressing "Accept"
You are now connected to lsusecure!
Please contact us directly if you have any further questions or problems!
    Thanks!

  • IPad WPA Enterprise Certificates

    Hi there!
I wonder if anybody can offer some assistance.
We purchased 10 iPads and would like to use our certificate-based enterpirse Wi-Fi but I'm having a small problem.
We use AirWatch MDM for our iPads and have a profile conmfigured with all our Wireless config, SSID, Credentials etc. I have uploaded the certificate and pushed it to the iPads but it still asks to accept the certificate from the server on the fist connect to a WAP.
Once accepted the iPads wil automatically connect to the WAP but if I move to the other end of the building it doesn't automatically connect to the other WAP and I have to manually connect to the WAP and accept the certificate.
We have multiple offices and multiple WAP so I really need the iPads to automatically connect each time without the user having to accept the certificate.
Other than that once the cert is accepted the iPads work fine.
    Thanks
    Liam

This is looking more and more like an anyconnect version issue. The anyconnect client recognized the certs when I was using the local CA however the local CA doesn't support failover so I had to ditch it. I called apple support and they verified that the certificates are installing on the Ipad the way they're supposed to.
Can anyone from Cisco comment on this?

  • Connecting MBA to domain using WPA Enterprise

    Hi guys!
I'm having "the usual" new MBA WiFi-problems, meaning my MBA keeps dropping the WiFi connection occasionally, but that's going on in another thread.
I don't know whether this is a related problem, but I can't seem to connect the MBA to the WiFi network at the office at all. The network connection dialog tells me my connection needs WPA Enterprise credentials, but no matter what I write, I won't get connected.
So I'll start with the basics. This works for every other device I have (PC laptop, iPhone, iPads and so on):
    Username: \\MyDomain\MyUserName
    Password: MyPassword
But not for the MBA. For the domain/username, I've tried single \´s and /´s and just about any combination just in case this is a "Mac syntax thing" (this is my first Mac laptop), with and without the MyDomain part, lowercase, uppercase, quotation marks around the password (as I saw mentioned in some thread in the case of alphanumeric WEP, or some such), but nothing works. I don't remember the exact error message, but it has to do with the authentication server perhaps not being available.
Apparently others have had problems with the WPA Enterprise connections as well, but could somebody just confirm that the \\MyDomain\MyUsename -syntax I'm using is indeed correct.
    Cheers,
    Kim

    Marc,
I'm suprised that WPA works over WDS. I had thought that because WPA cycles the encryption key with each message transmission that the two Airport devices would quickly get out of sync.
But I do respect Alan's opinion, so I'd give in to his statement that it does work, I'll be searching through the update readme's to see when it started working.
You could always drop back to WEP encryption. Unless you have the FBI next door listening in and analysing all your network traffic, it's not going to be broken.
WPA changes the encryption key with each wireless message, WEP doesn't. So in theory, with WEP, someone could analyse all your network traffic, looking for patterns. You can work out just how hard that is.
If you choose an obvious password (like from a dictionary) it won't matter if you're on WPA instead of WEP, the Feds / hackers will be in in a short time.

  • MacBook Pro 15" Not Connecting via WPA-Enterprise

My company just added an WPA-Enterprise based wireless router, I can connect to it fine with my iPad/iPhone, I've also connected an Android device and Windows XP & Windows 7 computers to it with no issues (the Windows boxes belong to other users on the network), but I can't seem to connect my Mac to it. It asks for credentials (like a WPA-Enterprise connection should), but then it doesn't seem to hand-off the credentials properly. Since this network is in it's early life at my company (and because my MBP is an unsupported platform), I'm not getting much help from the office (don't gripe, it's the way it is). Any ideas as to why I can't connect via my MBP when it's so easy to connect via all my other platforms?

  • 802.1X Authentication fails when connecting to WPA Enterprise using Leopard

I'm trying to connect to an office WiFi network with my MacBook Pro which has 10.5.1 installed.
There are instructions on how to connect using Tiger which are very simple:
    1. Enter network name
    2. Wireless Security: WPA Enterprise
    3. Enter domain credentials for username and password fields
    4. 802.1X Configuration: Automatic
There are at least two people here using Tiger that can connect using these instructions.
I've tried the same thing with Leopard and keep getting an error dialog stating "802.1X Authentication has failed."
I've also tried fiddling with the 802.1X tab under "Advanced" (I know the protocol is PEAP), but no matter what I get the same error.

Turns out I was not authorized to use the WiFi. IT got me setup and everything works now.

    Thanks for your help!

Choose the strongest security available on your router, preferably WPA2 using AES encryption and a long complex passphrase with at least 14 characters (the maximum is 63 characters).

  • AP541N - WPA Enterprise - Failed to connect

    Hi,
I am trying to configure an AP541N with WPA Enterprise. My RADIUS server is an MS ISA 2003 and is already working fine with other devices (I have a ASA5510 also configured to use RADIUS authentication with this server). When I try to connect, I am getting the following error message on the event log of the AP541N:

However, I do not see any error message on the ISA side. It actually tells me that the authentication happens fine. Any suggestion how I could troubleshoot this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help and have a great day,
    Alex

After investigation, I found that my ISA server was not configured properly. Here is the URL I used to configure it properly: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779009(WS.10).aspx

  • Connecting n96 to WPA Enterprise

Has anyone been able to connect a n96 to WPA Enterprise (TKIP Encryption; PEAP; EAP-MSCHAP v2) WLAN?
    thanks.

Not sure what u mean by Enterprise but here is what I got my wireless router set with:
    Authentication: WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK
    Encryption: TKIP
    Wireless Mode: 802.11b/g
    DTIM Period: 3
    Maximum Connection Rate: 53 Mbps
I have mine set to a custom pass phrase key.
When I used the WLAN scan on the handset, it found my wireless network very easy then all I had to do was select it then enter the pass phrase key. When I first started my Nokia PC Suite, my router said there was a conflict and placed my N96 with DMOZ Enabled. A quick reboot of the phone then everything working fine.
    I have a BT2700HGV router.
Hope this is of some help to you

  • Mountain Lion won't connect to WPA-Enterprise

Configuration: Macbook Pro (8,2) running OS X 10.8.3.
My office's "IT Guy" changed our Wifi network recently, with the surprise side effect that the Mac users are now offline, including me.  The odd thing is that my iPhone connects very nicely, as does my Windows (Bootcamp).  When I'm booted into Windows and connected, here is the information I can glean from the network manager:
    Security Type: WPA-Enterprise
    Encryption Type: TKIP
    NW Authentication Method: PEIP
He suggested I buy a little USB stick that would connect me, but that is over my "lame-ness" limit.  The fact that the iPhone can connect but the Macbook can't is a little worrisome.  Do I have any hope, assuming that firing the IT Guy and buying the USB stick are both off limits?

I had a similar situation happen to me today. Connecting to an Enterprise WPA2 network, and it authenticated correctly via PEAP (MSCHAPv2) but still would not show a good Connected status.
What seemed to work was to go into Network preferences, click the Advanced button, Select TCP/IP tab, and click Renew DHCP Lease.
Not sure why the MacBook did not connect, while the iPhone did, but this seemed to give the connection a good Connected status and the exclamation point on the WiFi network went away.
And it's been 15 minute and the user has not come back to bug me again!

  • New iPad won't connect to Mobile Hotspot using WPA or WPA2

I have a new iPad running iOS 6.01.  It connects to wifi networks perfectly.  I also own a Blackberry 9790 that is capable of running a wifi hotspot.  When I try to connect my iPad to the mobile hotspot when WPA or WPA2 Encryption is used the iPad cannot connect.  If I change the Encrypstion to WEP I am able to connect the iPad and wifi works on it.
Is there a reason the new iPad won't connect to a mobile hotspot that's using WPA/WPA2?  Is there a way to resolve this issue?
I am able to connect my MacBook Pro to the mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 so I know that it's not my phone or the hotspot not working properly.
    Thanks

It appears as though I fixed my own problem...I hadn't yet tried restarting my blackberry or my iPad since I had been trying to setup the mobile hotspot and connect the iPad.  Anyways, I restarted both devices and then tried connecting using WPA/WPA2 and it worked.
iPad is now connecting to my mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 with no problems.
Maybe try doing the same if you haven't.

  • Power Mac G4 won't connect to WPA Enterprise

At the university that I work at we are updating our wireless network to use WPA Enterprise only, instead of WEP 802.1x and WPA Enterprise. The computer that I am having problems with is our test machine for writing connection documentation for the students, faculty, and staff. I can get the computer to access the network trough WEP 802.1x but not WPA Enterprise. The computer will start the connection process and then fail and not connect to the network.

First, make sure you have at least these versions of the Airport software:
107795- AirPort Card: When You Can Join a WPA Network
Then read this article about set-up, including WPA Enterprise:
107921- AirPort for Mac OS X 10.3 or later: Using different types of wireless security (WEP and WPA)
"For a school or business, WPA Enterprise can provide each user with unique credentials. WPA Enterprise uses the same security as WPA Personal, but with the added measure of individual usernames and passwords (WPA Personal uses a shared password). Each wireless base station communicates with a RADIUS server to authenticate the user's credentials."
"You may need the help of a network administrator to join an 802.1x network."

  • Cannot switch between WPA2 and WPA Enterprise WiFi locations.

    Hello Everyone,
I have two Wifi locations I use, a WPA2 and a WPA Enterprise. When I switch locations from one to the other it looks as if that the Airport express resets but does not let go of the active location. I have to manually turn airport off and then on again to have it kick in. Anyone experience this and have a work around?
    Thanks in advance,

  • WPA-Enterprise WIFI dropping after IOS 6 Upgrade

We use WPA-Enterprise authentication for our WIFI and since upgrading to IOS 6 the connection needs to be reautenticated everytime the iPad is unlocked.  This is a major inconveience.  With IOS 5 you only autenticated one time and whenever you unlocked your iPad you were already connected.
These are the required settings which IOS 6 still automatically navigates, but it doesn't maintain the login name and password (which autheticates to a RADIUS server):
    Network Authentication: WPA-Enterprise
    Data Encryption: AES or TKIP
    EAP method: PEAP
    Inner EAP method: MS-CHAP v2
Check Use Windows user name and password
    Uncheck Validate Server certificate

It is forgetting the network everytime the iPad sleeps - even when it doesn't require an unlock passwod.
