Ipad2 and no sim card

after 4 visits to the Apple Store in one day, I am still stuck with the same problem. My iPad 2 does not recognize the SIM card. Even bought a new iPad 2, brought it home, same or problem. Tried 3 separate SIM cards and was finally told it was probably an issue with IOS 8 and I would have to wait for an update, or buy an iPad air. So disappointed right now in Apple and their product. I've been diehard Apple for years and never had a product that doesn't work correctly.

There's an app from Freshcrop.com that claims it can recover deleted photos from SD cards. Do you know if that works?
That's not an app... it's a program for Windows or Mac, not iOS.

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

5. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
6. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
7. Restore the iPhone.

The SIM card In my iPhone 5 has been giving me occasional messages that there has been a SIM Failure, there is NO SIM, or that there is an INVALID SIM. Until today, I was able to restart it with no problem and the SIM card would start up.

I am traveling in Canada now and it is not convenient to come back to the States just to get a SIM card.

I have been trying to call Verizon Wireless, but they won’t take my call from my Skype account and I don’t have my phone.

You didn't buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 3GS - you bought a 'hacked' one.
Updating to iOS 5 removed the hack and the unofficial unlock.
All you can do is try to find out which network the phone is locked to and ask them if they can unlock it properly.
Otherwise, sell it or throw it away and buy an officially unlocked phone from an official source.

It is 99% hacked/jailbroken iPhone to use a different carrier than intended. You have to put the sim from the original carrier or ask them to unlock the iPhone. We as well as Apple cannot help you with this.

If the carrier cannot help you, then I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware checked. I really do not believe it is the hardware.
You could try a restore before going to the Apple Store. Make sure you have a backup of the phone and restore the device as new. After activation is complete, see if you can make a call. If it is possible, then restore your backup to recover your content and test again. If it fails, then it is a problem with your backup. If neither works, and the carrier cannot help, then make the appointment.

Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

Silver frame and dual sim-card adapter

Now i have mod my Q10 with a silver metalic frame..don`t if it`s the right name in english..and use a dual sim adapter in my Q10 with swiss and german sim-card..it works!

There may be dual SIM adapters compatible with that phone, but they are not officially supported by Nokia. Also, any damage to your phone arising from the use of such adapters will void your warranty.

Locked screen and locked SIM card

My screen will not unlock when I slide on the screeen from the key in the center to the lock? and my sim card is disabled. Is there an override code to enable it?

Are you still unable to unlock your phone and SIM card? Try rebooting the phone and SIM card for a minute and retest.
