Ipad2 camera connection kit.

I have an iPad 2 and a canon eos 350d camera. Will this camera work with the camera connection kit?

It has for other people. On the camera you just need to set Communication to 'PRINT/PTP' (it should be on the last of the five setting 'headings' on the camera's settings menu) :

  • Kodak Zi8 doesn't connect to iPad2 camera connection kit

    Hi,
i have a Kodak Zi8 video camera and want to copy my movies to a iPad2 using the camera connection kit using buildin USB Kable of the Zi8.
Unfortunately the iPad shows a messagebox "Dieses Zubehör benötigt zu viel Strom" (accessory need to much current !?).
How can i connect my video camera to the iPad2?
    Yours Rüdiger

You won't be able to because the video camera requires more power than the iPad can provide.
To transfer your videos to the iPad, you might try connecting the video camera to your computer and importing them into iTunes.  From there, you can select the videos and create iPad-compatible versions (under the "Advanced" menu, select "Create IPAD Version".  Then transfer the iPad version of the video to your iPad by syncing.

  • HT4236 Have ipad2 & iPad camera connection kit - still doesn't download photos on SD card

Plugged in SD card from camera to a newly purchased ipad2 via the new iPad camera connection kit and it will not download these photos. Tried the same on a friends ipad2 and it works fine. Do I need to download a new app or just update the photo booth that I already have?

It doesn't go into photobooth. WHen you plug in the CCK and SD card it should open the photos app all on its own, open the card and then there'll be the select dialogue where you tap on the photos you want to import.
Try resetting your iPad. Hold down the home and sleep keys, past when you see the red slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
Since it works on another ipad, you know there's photos on the card and they're formatted right, along with the CCK working, so the issue must be your iPad. Sometimes there's a glitch and resetting helps that.

  • Camera connection kit not working on ipad2 iOS 5.1

    Hi all,
I have two iPad 2 at home. I bought the camera connection kit few days ago and I'm experiencing some issues on one iPad only. Everything is working fine with the one that has iOS 5.0.1 installed on it. I can copy both, videos and images. But, the other one has iOS 5.1 and the app Photos does'nt read the SD card at all. The thing is that I'm able to that the iPad is recognizing the card reader under Settings/General/About.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Any other people is experiencing same problem?
    Thanks,

I haven't had an issue. Do you use the same card on both devices and it works differently on each one?
You might try resetting the one that isn't working. Hold down the sleep and home key, past the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if it works.
Might, might not help it, but it's a common fix for glitches.

  • Camera connection kit not working with ipad2

I have had no problems using my camera connection kit, and have downloaded plenty of pics and films, but it now seems that since I have updated to recent IOS it now no longer works and just comes up with the 'this accessory is not supported by ipad' message.
Anyone got any ideas? I have tried several SD cards and several cameras, so it is a problem with the ipad itself by the looks of it. I have tried a soft reset, turned on/off etc.
    Many thanks in advance.

I have a 5 in 1 (not Apple) connection kit and like most others was pulling what little hair I have out trying to use the SD card reader on my IPAD 3 (probably the same with the Ipad 2), it simply does not work since the recent software upgrades. However I have just discovered that my camera USB connection lead DOES work when connected to the USB socket of the 5 in 1 connector. You will need to move the little black switch on the connector to the USB position. Once connected it shows an import icon which then allows scroilling through every photo on the camera. I can now import selective or all photos and it saves spending out £25 plus on an 'official' connector. Hope this helps.

  • I cannot download photos to mine IPad2 with Camera connection kit

I cannot download photos who are on a microSD card and who have been taken with mine android smartphone to the IPAD 2 with the Camera connection Kit. The IPad says there are no photo's on the card.

Are you using an adapter with the card ? Also what format are the photos on the card - the card needs to have a DCIM directory off its root, with the photos underneath it with filenames exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension i.e. the same format as if a digital camera had written them to the card

  • My IPad 2 doesn't recognize the camera connection kit

My ipad2 does nit recognize my camera connection kit. Actually the kit is recognized but when I put the chip or plug in the USB camera cable nothing happens. I'm using a Sony Dsc-Tx10 camera. It worked before but now it doesn't. Please help. I'm trying to upload my pictures to my iPad.
    Thank you,
    Josie

Check it to make sure the card and tray are free of dirt or dust. (You can blow into the empty slot to clean out any dust.)
Put the SIM card back in the tray, and slide the tray back into the slot.

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.

  • What cameras  are compatible with the camera connection kit

what cameras are compatible with the camera connection kit and ipad2

I also recently bought the camera kit and found that it worked fine as long as you don't format the SD card using PC. Once I re-formatted using my camera I could once again upload my photos. that was until I switched formats to Adobe RAW, it seemed unable to upload again. So I switched to S RAW and that worked fine. Sometimes my kit won't upload photos but I find that by just re-inserting the card it works fine.
Haven't tried video yet, but I recently learned that the devices are quit sensitive to the "Format"(that needs to be FAT32, or exFAT- but in this instance it needs to be formatted by a Mac).
    Good luck

  • If I suspend wireless connectivity can I then use the camera connection kit along with the usb ethernet adapter to connect to the internet?

If I suspend wireless connectivity on my Ipad2, can I then use the camera connection kit alond with the Apple USB Ethernet cable to connect to the internet?

    No, you can't.

  • Problem with Camera Connection Kit

I am experiencing a problem with my camera connection kit on my ipad2.  I have tried to use it today, after upgrading ios on ipad, but it does just not recognise the device any more. I have tried rebooting ipad ( twice), tried to use different sd cards, still no use. I have searched the forum for answers but apart from rebooting, ( which i've done) cannot find a fix..I dont seem to be 'Robinson Crusoe' with this problem either, judging by the forums etc..
As I'm travelling overseas next month, i really will  need this feature on ipad, to download pics from camera. Can anyone help with this...

Friend, you say "The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces)"  What if one has several hundred photos/files. Renameing them on my computer each 8 characters long adds an extension (1), (2), (3), and so on. For example, "JUNE2014(1).  The connection kit won't read the photos due to the extra (1).  How can I fix this without having to rename each of the hundreds of photos one by one?
    Thank you, Cisco.

  • Unable to use camera connection kit

I downloaded IOS5 to my ipad2 and lost my pictures when I try to redownload them using my ipad camera connection kit it tells me it doesn't recogize the device any suggestions?

Which part of the kit are you using, the cable to camera connection or the SD card reader ? If the SD reader then how are the photos getting onto the card, direct from the camera or from your computer ? If you are adding them to the card then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

  • My camera connection kit stopped working after I upgraded to  ios5

My camera connection kit stopped working after I upgraded to ios5. If I plug it in to my iphone I get a message saying it is not recognised, but when I plug it into the ipad it does nothing at all. I've tried resetting it, but that makes no difference.
I have an ipad 1 which I bought because it had lots of storage. I'm going on holiday soon, and I want to be able to upload my holiday photos to my ipad while I'm away.
    Any suggestions?

Actually this sounds the same problem I have on my iPad2.
I use a cheap copy of the CCK which I got off eBay.
It worked great when fitted with a 16gb SD card, but since I upgraded to 5.01 it has stopped working.
Sorry, no solution at this point but it worked on 4.3.3 but not on 5.01.
I'll keep on looking, was considering a proper CCK thinking the cheapmversion may be drawing too much current, but it sounds like that might not work either.

  • I can transfer pictures from my SD card when I don't have transfert it to my pc first. But why can't I transfer from pc via SD? I'm using Apple camera connection kit.

I can transfer pictures from my SD card when I don't have transferred it to my pc first. But why can't I transfer from pc via SD and then into my iPad2? I'm using Apple camera connection kit.

If you are adding the photos yourself, then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it with filenames exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension i.e. in the same format as if your digital camera had written them.

  • Transferring photos with camera connection kit

I have been told by 4 different apple employees that the camera connection kit allows me to put photos from my computer on an sd card and put on my ipad2. When i took it all in (iBook 4, Nikon 3100, card reader,  2 cards & iPad), the tech tried it, then tried it on is own computer to be sure the card worked. When he couldn't get it to work he said it wasn't the connector kit, it just doesn't do that. Anyone know a out this?

The underscore shouldn't make any difference, but you could try removing it. In the past I've copied jpeg photos to a card from my computer and copied them via the CCK to my iPad.
You could try closing the Photos app completely and then re-trying : from the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photo app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another thing to try is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Otherwise there are iPad apps such as Simple Transfer (and its free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which allow you to transfer photos via your wifi network to/from the iPad. The photos will just go into the Saved Photos/Camera Roll album on the iPad, and until iOS 5 is release in the Autumn you won't be able to move them to other albums on the iPad.
