Ipad2 camera not responding... Help!

Just got a new iPad 2... At first the camera was working but when I tried switching to the front camera it's not responding anymore... As well as the photo booth... Please help!

I can't find any resolution on this problem.
When I use the camera -- that camera that came pre-installed on the phone -- the camera opens but the shutter stays closed. also, in the bottom right hand corner of the camera app is a slide button that goes between video and camera -- this just flashes or vibrates. like someone is holding it down. this goes on for about 30 seconds then stops. Still nothign works.
I downloaded an application called V1 golf software -- the front camera works normally but when you select the button to switch so the camera is facing you it stops working (again shutter doesn't open).
Face time camera doesnt work at all but we have audio.  So, its working but the camera piece is not working.
Please let me know a real resolution as I can not find anything here.

  • Camera not responding

I'm having FREQUENT issues with my camera not responding or freezing up when I try to use it.
I have also noticed my phone turning itself off or spontaneously restarting.
Anyone know a "fix" for either issue?
This is a replacement phone because my brand new Droid Maxx had the same camera issue about 2 months after I bought it.
I've restarted, reset, cleared cache, and uninstalled updates, yet nothing seems to help. With my first Maxx, I tried all the same things at the advise of online support, when they didn't work, I was issued a replacement.
I guess my dilemma is, Is there now a "fix? should I get a replacement? or should I Edge Up and try a different phone?

We want to see you snapping away with your camera, lucychik! Did this start as soon as you received the replacement? Have you installed the same applications on this device as the last? Does this happen in apps that use camera or just native Camera program? When restart occurs are you using a certain app or process? I am eager to get to the bottom of this!
    Thank you,

Suddenly my ipad2 is not responding, not even can put in my pass code!! No response to touch. I reboot by holding 2 button several times. no luck please help, i also have apple extended guarantee. many thanks

Restore the device using iTunes. If you are unable to enter the passcode, you may need to restore in Recovery Mode, explained here:

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPad fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hello jaganaiyappa,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPad.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like the one you described:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
You can find the full article here:

If you get to step 5, I recommend backing up your iPad before performing the restore:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Additionally, if your iPad is not being recognized in iTunes, I recommend the following article.  I wasn't sure whether you were using a Windows or Mac computer, so I included the respective articles for each:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • IPad2 screen not responding, doing factory reset, but....

My iPad2 was not responding to touch.  I tried to 'reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.'.  That did not work. Next step: Tried to do a factory reset by hooking it up to my Windows laptop using Itunes.  Unfortunately, it needed me to answer questions using the iPad2 ..... which is not responding to touch.   So I guess I now have a friendly iPad2 that is dedicated to greeting  me in 6 different languages.
Any suggestions would be most  welcome.
    Thanks.

    Hi melindamay,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your iPad 2 is not responding to touch, and you've already tried resetting it and restoring with iTunes.
If you're not able to restore the iPad using iTunes, you may want to try restoring the device while it is in recovery mode:
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.
You can find these steps here:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Additionally, the support article If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch suggests contacting Apple or an Authorized Service Provider if your touchscreen is unresponsive and the device can't be restored:
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy

  • Why does the camera not respond to tapping?

I have used  UITapGestureRecognizer so that an instance of UIImageView will respond to tapping when applied to images.  However, so far, the camera does not respond to anything I try in this regard.
Could it be that the camera view does not respond to tapping?
    Thanks.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

  • FCP not responding, help!

    Hi there,
I have some serious trouble. I am running FCP 5.1 and I cannot open my program. I have recently had low disc space, but have now freed up space on my start up disc, but still the program will not open. It starts to load but does not get any further than the title screen with serial number etc. Looking in the Activity monitor, it comes up red with a not responding message. I have tried restart and using Onyx to do maintenance on the system, but to no avail!
Suggestions? I have to deliver a DVD tomorrow so please let me know any and all thoughts on what I might try next!
    Thank you in advance!!!
